The restaurant was an unexpected surprise! Very clean inside, was seated quickly, especially since you can seat yourself. The service was fast and friendly. We shared a dish. The soft tacos with beef, were seasoned well, the beans had great flavor, not too aftertaste which I enjoyed and the rice was soft and moist. The chips and salsa they bring to the table was also delicious l! Definitely keeping on the list of places to stop for a quick lunch if we are in this area again. We have driven by so many times but they are often closed when we are at the part of the island. Langley was busy with an event on a Saturday lunch so I suggested this. So glad we did. It's not quite a 4 star place but it tries to be.... Their lunch prices and choices are unheard of! So I ordered the pork chimichanga. Many other options and price points but try to find such a big lunch with decent to good quality for $10? There were a few older single fellows that came in too for a beer and a lunch combo around us too. My wife ordered the shrimp fajitas and liked them though done a little differently. Generous portions of beans and rice and the give you bean dip with the salsa and chips immediately upon seating. We dined in the mostly empty fining room. Service was pretty good although the staff tends to hang in the kitchen and chat. My wife really did enjoy her blackberry Marguerita that I suggested to her from other reviews. I was never too excited about trying this local place in an old strip mall but glad we did. I'd eat here again and try the menu out. This was a very good value for Whidbey island or anywhere for a pretty good food and drink experience. read more

This was our first time here and we were excited to find a Mexican place on this side of town. The chips were nice and warm and the salsa and beans were very tasty. I loved my blackberry margarita but a little bummed there was no salt on the rim so next time I'll ask if they can add that. The bacon wrapped shrimp I ordered was incredibly delicious and I layered it on a tortilla with beans, grilled veggies, sour cream, and pico and it was amazing! I also enjoyed the beans and rice on the side and thought my meal was delicious. My man ordered a carne asada burrito and we thought the meat was delicious however the burrito wasn't our favorite so next time we will try something else for him. The service was great and all the ladies were informative, nice, and attentive. The ambiance and atmosphere was nice too and it had an authentic vibe. My friend from Whidbey requested this for take out and called it "Island Mexican food". Maybe I'm too much of a mainlander but it wasn't my cup of tea. My fajita salad was just a few strips of beef with lettuce, eggs, uncooked mushroom, and a few bits of avocado. It didn't even come with any dressing. We like having a local Mexican restaurant in Clinton. Family run place, efficient and well run. They work really hard in our friendly. The Chile Rilleno burrito is my favorite. It's unusual to get a chile riellno inside of a burrito, but it really works. Another nice aspect is they always bring straight up freshly deep fried tortilla chips, delicious, homemade salsa, and a very nice homemade bean dip. Their plates are typical Mexican American food style with lots of cheese and beans and red rice. The atmosphere is friendly and family like with a nice waiting area in the hall. Plenty of parking. This used to be an Italian restaurant, but I'm glad the Mexican family moved in and they've certainly done well for years now. You can get a reasonably priced meal of hot food that is delicious and quick. Great place for travelers families and they don't rush you. You can hang out in the booth and talk for quite a while. read more

Wish you could order online for pick-up. We're about 1/2 hr north so food's more lukewarm than hot. It's still delicious, tho. Also wish they were OPEN at 11 am - waited until 11:30 one day before they arrived to open the door. Pretty good for Langley, Washington. They go a little extra with some bean dip, complementary with your chips and my jalapeño margarita was made with a fresh purée jalapeño so that was super. The shrimp fajitas were missing a lot of shrimp the flavor was good though and the three beef tacos didn't have much beef in them, but by that time we were very full. Rice and beans were just very ordinary service was slow around 3 PM on a Friday afternoon. I'd give it three stars. read more

Seriously, how on Earth does this place get four stars? Had lunch here today with a colleague, and it was awful. I ordered a lunch combo with a cheese enchilada and a taco with picadillo and no tomato. I received a cheese enchilada, and a ground beef taco covered in tomato. The beans had a strange flavor to them, the ground beef had a weird texture and flavor, service was exceptionally slow. No one checked on us or refilled our salsa, and we had no idea we had to pay at the register instead of at the table. Our food came out in less than 30 seconds leading me to believe it had been just sitting there waiting to be ordered. The cheese enchilada was like glue with no sauce. The only thing positive was that the prices were reasonable. Two lunch combos and two beverages was $25 before tip. Otherwise, there was nothing good about Patron. Came here starving after driving off the ferry! I was so happy to find this place off in the corner of a strip mall off the highway. Stuff tried: Enchiladas espinaca: spinach enchiladas which i havent seen on many menus. Great garlicky spinach inside two enchiladas. With the mexican rice and refried beans, a nice meal. Chile relleno: i almost always try this dish whenever i see it on the menu! I asked if i could get this a la carte (not listed as an option on menu) and they were nice enough to accomodate. Version here is pretty solid and the pepper still has a tiny bit of spicy heat! Complimentary tortilla chips were very fresh out of the fryer and were great with excellent salsa! Do yourself a favor and ask for some extra salsa to pour on everything. read more

We eat here several times a month and have not had a bad experience. Service can be just OK or very good; it depends on which server you get. I particularly like the "lunch" version of chicken fajitas. Chips are usually much better than average. I went to dinner with my father and daughter. Food - 4 Stars Service - 5 Stars Atmosphere - 3 Stars I have eaten here a couple of times over the last few years and have always left happy. For the three of us our bill came to 40 dollars. We all left full. This is a great choice if you are looking for some solid traditional Mexican food. They bring out complementary chips, salsa, and bean dip. Our drinks were brought out promptly. One reason the service was a five is the server let us know that there was a big table about to order and we should get ours in quickly. We did and it took just a few minutes to get our food. Both my father and I had enchiladas. His were ground beef and mine were chicken. They were hot and tasty. I like their red sauce. The beans and rice were what you would expect. We ordered milk with the kids meal and we were given a generous portion. My daughter liked the her meal and for 5.99 it was a fare price for what was included. I'm new to Whidbey Island with a craving for Mexican... I didn't expect a lot from this non-descript restaurant in the Ken's Korner strip mall, but it was Mexican food, and there's not a lot of that around these parts. I now stand corrected. Went to Patron for lunch thinking inside dining might be open (sadly take-out only for another couple days). I had carne asada; wife had enchiladas. Enchiladas were chock full of cheese, and were good; carne asada was tender and flavorful - very good - actually, one of the best I've had. I'd been told the best Mexican was about an hour away in Oak Harbor - having been to that restaurant, too, I can testify such a recommendation comes only from a person who has never been to Patron. read more

Noce little spot on Whidbey tucked around the corner of Ken's Corner where The Red Apple is. I was craving a Coctel de Camarones dish and seeing how this is close by...thought I'd give it a shot. It wasn't on the menu, but they made it anyway. Huge kudos to them for the way they stepped up to what I asked for and they definitely came through very nicely. Every place makes it a bit differently. It's like a signature for families I think. I didn't get to see much of the interior, but I'm sure I'll be back. This place has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat on the island. Reliably wonderful Mexican food, moderately quiet family dining, very friendly and nice wait staff, consistently good service, and an overall very pleasant experience. We've dined here many times. Given the fact that it's always packed indicates so have many others. It's a grey day and that makes me think of soup. And this reminded me that I need to mention the Tortilla Soup served by Patron. I don't think of ordering soup at a Mexican restaurant (or any restaurant for that matter) but on a cold day awhile back I did. I was amazed at how good it was! My husband and I have passed by this restaurant any number of times, but finally stopped by. We're glad we did! Very friendly staff, good variety on the menu, tasty chips and salsa/bean dip. The house margarita was very tasty, but nothing too fancy. I got the borrego (lamb shank) which was just fantastic, served with sauce it was cooked in. Husband got the Tres Amigos (Chile Colorado, Chile verde and Chile relleno), all of which were good, but I thought their verde sauce was especially excellent. This place is solid! We phoned ahead to pick up an order to eat while we were waiting in line for the ferry. It took 20 minutes and it was nice and hot when we picked it up. We dug in and were not disappointed- almost forgot to take pictures (excuse the dark shots with a few bites removed). They give a ton of food for the price. Kids enjoyed the kids quesadilla that came with a side of beans and rice. Chips were fresh and hot, coupled with delicious salsa. We are excited to have our leftovers for lunch next week!
