Just tried it on a Saturday afternoon and Patch Brewery is now on our list as a go to place. Not the Ritz, but for me, this place is how I like it. The beer, wine (by the bottle at the outside bar if you prefer), ciders, mixed drinks and food were great. No leftovers from us. Plenty to do inside and out with games, baseball and dog fields, at least two playgrounds, horseshoes and cornhole and... This place is pretty big. Even had a farmers market going on next to the parking lot. A clean place both inside and out offering tasty beverages and food from friendly staff. Order at the bar and pickup outside when the ringer/thingy goes off. Patrons where a mixed bag of young & old, some with kids and dogs with boundary fencing separating groups of tables. They do have an area separate from the rest for adults only on the other side of the outside bar. A little rough looking in spots like a place you might see in a marina environment or old bowling alley but kept up well, clean and very well appointed. Parking was a breeze. read more

We met with another couple for an afternoon of live Irish music and we weren't disappointed. We tried several of the beers, ciders and wines. I really would recommend a non-ipa beer "Chesterfield Secret Voyage", which has a high alcohol content. It was a nice smooth drinking malty brew! The staff at the counter were friendly and knowledgeable. We tried several sandwiches. Enjoyed the fried Chicken sandwiches which came with a side. We got the onion rings. Each sandwich was $13 which we felt was a bit overpriced but the food was good. The hot dog is $8 plus $1.50 for chili and cheese plus another $.50 for a tiny sprinkle of onions. The bun was hard and broken. Wife felt that she should have returned it and was way overpriced. The inside beer area was clean and roomy but very loud. We had a great time at Patch Brewing. The property is expansive with lots of tables. There is air conditioned indoor seating and outdoor seating. The music artist on Saturday night was excellent. The food was not bad. If the food vendor Rum Punch is there though, I'd pass on that. I brought my friends here as we were in the area and this is one of my favorite breweries. We each decided to get a flight and sit outside. I also got a yummy burger with mushrooms, bacon and Swiss, and onion rings, and my friends got some cheese curds. They really liked their drinks and food, as did I, and were glad I suggested we stop here. read more

I normally overlook mistakes with food, but I am tired of getting terrible food for my hard earned money. I do not recommend Country Line, the food vendor at Patch Brewing. They charge $13.00 for a 3.3 oz burger with almost nothing on it. I literally got nine fries with my order, which is crazy since the order seems so small that you can count them at a glance, and everything tasted like bad oil! It was nasty. You can do better, but you refuse to do so. The last time I was there, I ordered an equally overpriced and over cooked chili dog, The dog was extremely small, and there was almost no chili on it. The beer is great, but the food is way below standard. You need to step up your game folks. read more

We stumbled across the local brewery one day while we were out and about. Patch has something for everyone. Covered seating, kids play area, indoor seating, fire pits, they have it all. Our kids loved playing in the play area, while we were able to enjoy our flight. It seems like they are always holding outings and special events. Also dog friendly. Best brewery I've been to. We stayed in Charlottesville to go skydiving in Orange county and passed this place and thought "huh maybe we will stop on thr way back" And boy am I glad we did. The vibe of this place is beyond any other brewery I've been too. They had a great band playing and plenty of seating. There were sections for adults only, outdoor, indoor but still able to hear the music, and more of a family area with picnic tables and cornhole. There was a baseball field behind it where some kids were playing. There is also a swing-set for older kids, and an area for younger kids near the picnic tables. The sunset over the place was so beautiful! The bartender was so nice and helped me settle an upset stomach. The next day we did the Hop on Tour and met Sharon (I think thats her name) and she told us all about Patch. The father and the guy who owns it build a lot of the outdoor bar and also the stage. They also helped clean up the baseball field. The mother of the guy who owns it comes and plants wildflowers around the property. They do all sorts of community events: markets (hosted for free), line dancing, and so much more! Truly a community driven place. I wish there was a place similar to this where I live. A brewery that is not only fun for all ages, but you could spend the day here. If you are around this area/are staying in Charlottesville this place is worth it to come! Patch brewery is five stars for a true community place, it's awesome beer, decent food a always something fun going on. They have truly created not just a place to drink great craft beer, but to do the things you love with your people while drinking it. Patch is a big place: multiple buildings for beer, food, watching a game on TV, gatherings and games (board games to arcade and darts). For dog people it offers a big dog park. For kids there a multiple playgrounds and a ball field. Top all of that off with an indoor and outdoor stage for live music and you have a great place to hang out whether it's the whole family, a gathering with friends or even a date. The beer here is really good. I am wheat beer guy and their Hefeweizen has a nice blend of spices and richness without overdoing it. They have a pub like menu with burgers, brats and dogs with fried accompaniments. The burgers are a little small for what you pay for but they are tasty, with some unique topping combinations. Prices are fair overall. Staff have been friendly and helpful whether offering tastes of beer to determine your selection or questions about food options. The food service is an order at the counter and pickup when ready format. Lots of seating options inside and outside for parties as small or as large as you like. Often there is live music on weekends. They offer line dancing lessons once a month, along with other activities. Be sure to check the website for events, dates and times. What a great brewery! Wish we lived close by as this would be a regular place for us to come! Good beers, very friendly staff, very large indoor area but also large outdoor area as well. They have all types of board and card games, arcade game machines, some tv's and even some different seating areas (couches and chairs) They do have chips you can buy and a small menu too you can order off of. This is basically the quintessential redneck brewery. The people, the food, and the brews all just fit a vibe. Feels like a more personal brewery than most. The owner even came by our table and made a dad joke that I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about but thats okay. Such a gem of a place! The owner is so kind, welcoming and knowledgeable- he was a pleasure to meet and made us feel so welcome with our toddler and our dog. Dog was allowed inside (it was a SUPER hot day so extra grateful), they had a cool game room and music playing inside and out and the food was great. Had a west coast IPA and pineapple smoked beer that were both delicious- vibes were high and service was top notch. Due to weather conditions we had to go inside. The beer was fine. The facility was not that clean and there was a smell of stale beer.

Patch is just too fun! We went before graduation and they had plenty of space. It is just a bit away from downtown Gordonsville, which is such a nice little place. We got a nice table inside since it was scorching outside, but the outside section looks great too! The flights were really fun, and gave us the chance to try some of their fun beers. I loved building my own, and they each had a decently sized pour. There was food available from a food truck, and I really enjoyed that too. We shared some appetizers, and they were delicious (though VERY salty, grab some waters!). I love that there is a nice selection of games available. It is always fun when places have that available, and really makes the experience a great one! I can't wait to return here. read more

Good beer and food. Not a place for adults without kids. There are over 100 kids here running around like recess. We will not be back. There is not control over the children chaos in this place either kids running around bouncing basketballs inside the pavilion. I would stay away unless you have kids and don't care if they behave in public. read more

We went to Patch Brewing after visiting Monticello with a group and we had so much fun. There are plenty of seats outside and inside with plenty to do if you bring kids. Nice snd appreciate dog friendly but they ought ask people to not allow dogs that don't behave well to leave. We had nice beers and hard cider thing but having a dog inside doing and whining is why so many places don't let my dogs in. My dog was embarrassed another dog was so miss behaved. I've been to this place twice now. Both times, my experience has been great. They have a really good IPA on tap + the burgers are excellent for the price and value. Patch has a large indoor space with bar, restrooms, pinball machines, and games to play at your table; a large outdoor space with a kids play area and picnic tables, and a covered gazebo area outside too. We started with flights and i liked all four i tried which made my next choice of drink harder but i really liked their hazy IPA so went for that, then i was primed and ready to sing some karaoke!!? If you want to enjoy your beer outside, this is your place. I don't mean that as a negative. Patch has something for everyone: Covered seating, check. Firepits, check. Kid play area, check. Ball field with yard games, check. Dog Park, check... We brought food in and grabbed some brews. Started with a flight to sample their flagships. My favorites were their Hefeweizen, and their IPA. It was a warm October evening, so the Hefeweizen was refreshing. They have snacks available for purchase if you don't bring something. They do have food trucks from time to time. They also had two ciders and a red and white wine. Those products were all locally sourced. While it isn't right in town, I think it's worth the drive up to Gordonsville. I'm interested in returning to try some of their seasonal brews. read more

HUGE outdoor space that will have so much potential once they gut and ready their indoor site and prepare the walking trails behind. Luckily, we went on a nice fall day and didn't mind sitting outside, by one of the many fire pits. They also have several board games to play with. There was a hot dog stand ($4 per dog) when we came, which doesn't give much options, but I think their plan is to have food trucks in the future- otherwise bring your own picnic. One turn off, there are SO many flies and there is no explanation why- no trash, not many people eating when we came. They aren't even turned off by the fire smoke. Hopefully that can be controlled. read more

Tried a flight and beers were solid, with the hefeweizen and the hazy IPA being the favorites. They did have a brown ale on tap, looking forward to seeing what other seasonal beers arrive. Appears to be very kid and dog friendly, with play areas for both. Work is still being done on the additional spaces. Overall, good location with solid beer and a welcoming atmosphere.
