As part of a 4-day 40th wedding anniversary celebration, we all (3 generations) came here for a light dinner & beer/cider. This place has everything we needed: a fenced-in playground for the kids (good for our 6 grandkids aged 7 & under!) , a good-enough, bar-food-style menu for all, lots of space for kids to roam relatively safely (watch your kids near the driveway that slices through the outdoor space), a good menu of ales (although my favorite heffeweiser was not available) & ciders, live music (too loud for us to eat indoors, but more than enough picnic tables for our crew outdoors), & big tub of candy sitting on the bar. One of our meals arrived undercooked (chicken tenders were raw inside) & they did the right thing by crediting us for that item. Come for the family fun, stay for the beer & music.

Pro Re Nata is a gem!! Great beers/ciders! Live music! Pin ball machines! Outside seating! Boneless chicken wings & pizza! Great staff/service!

My wife and I went to the recently opened Pro Re Nata + in Staunton VA for dinner. There was a food truck on site so we wanted to try the offerings to go with my Hazy Skyline IPA and my wife's Don Juan cocktail. I ordered the pulled pork with apple slaw, pickle and moonshine bbq sauce. My wife ordered the smash burger with American cheese, tomato and aioli sauce. She said the burger was ok, but not something she would order again. My pulled pork came out a few minutes after the rest of the meal and the bottom bun was completely soggy! The drinks were spot on and we decided when we go back we are going to try one of the Pro Re Nata pizzas. You wouldn't know that they have only been open a week based on the level of service by the staff! We will be back soon to try their fall seasonal beers!

Great place to stop for a drink! I built my own flight and loved the choice to sample so many beers, ciders, and seltzers. I probably won't try the blue raspberry again, but how fun to have the option! I also like the atmosphere here, a great view of the mountains and lots of outdoor games and picnic tables. The staff are really great, even coming around the bar to play with my very-welcomed dog and bring him his own water dish. The food is operated by Dinos (same as the pizza at the Dairy Market in C'vile, for my locals), and has a good selection of options. I've also seen food trucks around in the past. I'd like to come back for live music, and maybe to try some more of their choices.

Beer is pretty good. Not the best I've had in the area. Staff is friendly. The pizza made by Dino is good but the crust doesn't look like it does on their website. It's average pizza, definitely not artisanal like I expected. I like the place because we could bring our dog. Place is clean and carries a lot of energy.

Have come here many times to watch friends perform and just enjoy nice weather. The live music inside can be VERY loud to the point you can't have conversation, so if you're hoping to chat while listening to music, maybe sit outside because the music will still carry out there. The food trucks are great, especially the pizza one- some of the best Detroit pizza in Charlottesville. A mix of UVA students and adults and is dog-friendly.

Unique brewery with lots of space. Indoor, outdoor, upstairs outside. Very cool set up . They have a stage for concerts ! Our party enjoyed several beers and lunch here . They have rotating food trucks. We got large pepperoni pizza and pretzel . Pizza was so good ! Good selection of beers and all fresh & flavorful. Staff were friendly and helpful .

The reason for 4 stars is the food while good and unique missed the mark a bit. The fried elements seemed to either indicate the oil was a bit old or they overcooked a few of our items. The fried greenbeans while really good overall and a unique preparation. Had a subtle burnt flavor and same with the Catfish Poboy. The PoBoy was uniquely prepared too with green tomatoes that really worked well. But the condiment was thin, and the tomatoes could have been a bit thicker cut. So flavor was good, but could have been better. The fries that came with the sandwiches were good though. So TLDR, the breading on the catfish, and the fried green beans, was thick and looked slightly over cooked and tasted a tad burnt but at the same time the food itself seemed cooked properly. Not horrible and overall was very good. Just not 5 star. But much better than standard bar food fare. Standout though was the dessert (Hot Brownie with ice cream) it was absolutely amazing. I'll be back and hopefully can give them a 5 star later.

The restaurant was empty of customers and only a couple of guys at the bar. The waitress came to our table and took our drink order along with out food order. The drinks didn't arrive for about twenty minutes. After the delivery of the drinks, the waitress didn't return to our table to take a second or subsequent drink orders. Finally, the drinks arrived and we waited for the food. There are a lot of local craft beers on the list, along with a wide selection of whiskies. Would have been fun to try some, but we never really had service at out table. This bar is Irish themed and Irish folk music is played on the sound system, loudly. Not bad, but you do h a very to speak up during conversations. The food arrived and was ,"just okay". I had the fried chicken sandwich, my friends had the burger. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich. All meals came with fries. The service needs to step up their game. It was not busy at all and the wait staff were more interesting in socializing with each other than tending to the customers. Also, the food was delivered warm, it probably had been sitting under a light for some time. This place has great potential, but changes in service staffs priorities need to happen. Not impressed with this place, but if you decide to give them a try, I hope your experiences are better than ours.

Well thank goodness I finally decided to nip in to 3rd Generations Grill last evening for a hot meal and a cold beer after a long day. I was quite happy with the experience. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but the dining room is large, open, and features a nice bar at the back with a decent selection of draft beer (sadly no dark options for the porter- and brown ale-loving crowd) and sundry spirits. The walls are plastered with rock & roll posters (they get extra credit for the Ziggy Stardust poster on the left side of the room as you enter) and the space is clean and well lit without being antiseptic and blazing. I think with a larger crowd (it was a bit sparse on my visit) the room could be a bit loud, so if quiet is your thing maybe plan for a low traffic time. After negotiating a workaround for the QR code-based online menu (I deduct a full star if that's my only option for ordering because I think it's poor service), I ordered the Generator burger from my very friendly, helpful, and service-forward bartender. What's great is I told him what I was looking for and he competently guided me to one of the best burgers I've had in a while. Double smashed patty, double bacon, cheese, onion. I added lettuce and tomato because I want to dupe myself into believing I had a vegetable that evening. Comes with side of their hand-cut fries and is a hearty portion of well prepared food. When I say this is a two-handed-eat-over-the-plate-like-a-caveman burger, that's exactly what it is. Thing is a monster of beautiful beef and bacon and cheese (sorry vegans, try again). Oh, and the food came out in good time--not fast food, but good food fast. I have a minor quibble with the fries which, while hand cut and nicely seasoned, were a bit under and kinda soggy. Not inedible, but could be better. I think if they blanched the fries before the final cook they'd achieve a crispier outside with that nice cushy potato centre you want in a French fry. But that's the only quibble. Service: six stars Food: four stars Ambiance: four stars Value: five stars I'll be going back again, for sure. No photos this time because I am a pig man and I tend to eat half my plate before my brain says, "hey! Yelp review inbound!"
