Ah Virginia. Skies, trees, music, relaxation... it's all here.

There is no cooked food so this is atmosphere, service, and liquid offerings review. Please keep reading. This is a rural establishment yet a hop skip, and a jump from the 64. The owner Dave is down to earth, the beer is cold, wine is nice, the views are so Virginia. There is a resident goose named after a Top Gun character! He walks back-and-forth in front of the lake showing off and the owners have rehomed this guy. There is music. There is space. There are open skies and these photos say it all. Why would someone not come here? Oh as well, the customer service you ask? kindness ! This is not far from Richmond bc it's Louisa. 'Y'all come.

Hit a lot of places while up in the area camping and attending a concert. This place right here takes top honors. Customer service and the beers were excellent! Great vibe. Will definitely be back. Thank you all!

What a discovery. We were driving home and still had 3 hours to go. I wanted beer and my bf wanted wine. It's normally the opposite but hey. Today was a switch day. We were surrounded by wineries but something called my name to this spot. He didn't object. I told him it was a brewery. He was a disappointed since he wanted wine. We reach the top of the mountain that as NYorkers makes things look Erie. We just watch Hills have Eyes so we were a little scared. Yelp, we survived!! It was a nice little spot. We walked in and it's like both our prayers were answered. They had beer AND wine flights!! We scored!! We had a flight of each. After our flight we had another glass of wine before we continued our journey. The bartenders was very sweet and welcoming. They have one bathroom inside and one around the outside of the property. Plenty of parking once you reach the mountain. Don't let look deserve you. This is a really nice place to stop to enjoy the view and the drinks. Seems it was a local spot which is what I enjoy the most when I travel.

What a fun spot and awesome venue! Great selection of both beers and wines which works well for my hubby and I. We like variety and options and STC definetly has them with 16 beverages on tap! Farm Foods Truck was awesome as well with both smoked pork and chicken sandwiches, slaw and Mac/Cheese to offer. Belly warming on a cold day. Helped soak up some of that 9.0% brew . Tee hee Even brought a growler home for the games this afternoon!

Awesome food truck

We have asked for glasses and we're told you don't have wine glasses. On several occasions.

The people working there are always friendly and helpful. As others said, the sites are really close together. This is a family campground, so lots of kids. If you prefer remote camping, this might not be the spot for you. Even with all the "closeness," the campground is quiet after 11:00 and doesn't start bustling until 8:00 or 9:00 am. You can tent, bring your RV, rent a cabin or an RV. We always enjoy our stay!

We visited during the Veterans day weekend. My husband has been really interested in camping but…read moreI'm not a fan of roughing it.. So I booked one of the small cabins here. We showed up at night and it was so dark when we rolled in. The moment you pull in there are rabbits EVERYWHERE. They should advertise that more because it is so unique! My only issue was that I was afraid we would accidentally hit one. Thankfully we got to the cabin without incident. We started bringing our bedding and necessities in to the cabin and noticed that one of the outlets was broken so we didn't want to use it just in case. The next morning we went into the office and let them know about the issue. They were surprised and really apologetic about it. Luckily there were other cabins available and we got moved into the one closest to the restrooms. So we switched locations and settled in. In the office you can purchase rabbit food so of course we did. As soon as these guys see that bag they will all hop there way straight for you. I had bunnies all over me. It was magical. I saved some of it for the rabbits hanging out with us at our campsite. That evening we had a wonderful little dinner by the fire with our bunny neighbors. We got a small refund that we didn't expect. I think because of the outlet issue. This is a great place to visit. We will be back.

The Stokesville Campground is the perfect place from which to launch your outdoor adventures in…read moreGeorge Washington National Forest. Its location is perfectly situated for mountain biking and/or hiking on Lookout Mountain, the North River, and is easy driving distance from other legendary trails like Reddish Knob. Booking is straightforward and easy, although their cancellation policies could be a sticking point for people coming from a long distance on a strict time frame. The owners are responsive and communicative, and very friendly and accommodating when it comes to booking groups. The restroom/shower facilities are clean and perfectly adequate- don't expect the Ritz, but they're great if you need a shower after a hard day of riding or hiking (and you didn't visit the swimming hole for some reason that I won't even try to understand.) The cabins are also clean and cozy- they'd be perfect for a family of four who are used to camping and close quarters. The tent sites are basic, with fire pits, picnic tables at most sites, and plenty of space for a few tents and hammocks. The campground also stands out for its super fun mountain biking trails that actually run through the campground. Whether you're a seasoned rider or a young kid, you'll have fun on them. The swimming hole at the bottom of the hill is a true gem- there's nothing like going for a dip in its cool waters in the middle of the summer. I've been to Stokesville twice in the past month and am looking for the slightest pretext to go again soon.

The sites were level and fairly well maintained. The overall camp location is very large and offers a lot of sites with privacy. Some are very small and can't accommodate large vehicles or tents. Be sure to double check the pictures. The main road is well maintained but you must have a high clearance vehicle if the site calls for it. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The bath house was clean and standard. They were in the process of painting it during our stay. One shower is available inside by the toilets and two are available in the rear (open roof top). Camp grounds have access to MTB trails - hilly and fun. If we came back to the area we would stay here again.

Seriously? $150 a night for ants everywhere? I slept 2 hours that night. Had a family get together there, as my mom and stepdad had another cabin. 1 car per cabin - I get it, but we had more family coming in and the owner got ticked off and was extremely ignorant to our family because the family needed to drop off food and people that couldn't make the walk from the front store. There was 3 cars - They just wanted to drop off the food and people - not park in there. The owner wasn't happy - her husband yelled from the back of the store saying make them all get in the ******* same car - Really? 10+ people and kids plus food and more in 1 car? During the family get together - the owner comes by on her golf cart - Says were's the dog. Puzzled, we ask her what dog, since nobody in the family group had one there. She said someone said we had a dog here and she wanted to know where it was; each time she asked, she was nasty about it. One of the kids - 4 years old with autism - picks up a $0.10 dum-dum lollipop then puts it down. The kid and his mom and dad get to the counter at the store and she's being the **** she is and starts by saying, I saw him pick up the lollipop - where is it? Really lady? Dum-dums are free everywhere else and you're so worried about it that you grill the mom and 4 year old with autism? Does your life suck so bad that you have to ruin everyone else's day? I ended up leaving after the party because I couldn't put up with everything. Waste of money. If you enjoy dealing with ignorant and unruly people at overpriced campgrounds - then this is the place for you. FYI... If you have a pit bull, your dog isn't welcome here. We had family skip out because they own a pit bull and that was on the long list of things not allowed at the campground.
