We stayed at campsites 30, 31, and 32, which are at one end of the campground and feel more secluded, farther away from the other campsites. This means your car is not right next to your site, but we didn't mind walking back and forth (slightly uphill, along a path); we recently bought a collapsible utility wagon that was super helpful in carrying big things to and from the site. The sites sit higher above the river, so it's a bit steep if you want to go down and enjoy the water, but you can do so carefully and it's well worth it. You will love sitting by your fire, listening to the rushing river and feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere, even though many luxuries like flush toilets, hot showers, and even a camp store are just steps away. No need to bring ice or firewood; the camp provides them at an added reasonable cost (but bring an axe to help break up the logs in case the wood is damp or fresh). Bring a grill-top for the firepit if you plan to cook. Keep in mind that the campsites are not very large; ask AJ when you book if your tent will fit. There's plenty to do in the area: Hike Crabtree Falls, taste beers at Devil's Backbone or Blue Mountain Breweries, enjoy ciders at Bold Rock, and next time we'll try the distilleries. Crabtree Falls is definitely my favorite campground in all of Virginia!

We always stay in the cabins (which is dog friendly) and they are always clean and super cozy. We have only stayed during the fall since there is no A/C but I can tell you that during the cooler nights the base board heat keeps you very warm. The constant sound of the creek right outside your window is soothing and a great change from a busy life. There is absolutely NO cell service so be prepared for that. Some super sweet camp cats! We will be back for many many years to come! Thanks AJ and Family!!

Our site was large, shaded and best of all level. No leveling blocks needed. Sites are gravel, clean and well maintained. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! Well stocked store, and they will make and deliver pizza right to your campsite. Typical KOA amenities, and they have a stocked catch and release pond on site for those who love to fish. Lots of activities for the kiddos, too. The road in is a little hilly and several curves, but big rigs shouldn't have any trouble navigating it - the signage on the road is great (funny sign on the road that said "1/2 miles Don't Give Up." Lol). We're more "state park people" in that we enjoy the space and solitude and we don't have kids traveling with us (just dogs), so we don't typically need all the on-site activities. But this week we needed full hook ups, and this park gave us that feel. With so much to do in the area, we didn't get to it all, so we'll be back and we'll definitely stay here again.

Lots of larger gravel. The only lighting after dark they had was some that came on as I walked by them attached to trees. We were surrounded by forest so it was kind of scary being out there at 9 in the pitch black. There are lots of weeds that give the dogs briars in their feet. They have a trail you can go on that was nice but after 20mins my dog was ready to turn around. I never found out where that would have taken me lol. That was really the safest bet for walking him. There is many large rocks there. There isn't much grass. The pond is tiny.

Unfortunately it rained both times while we were setting up camp for the evening. Our spot was very dark and very quiet overnight. There are restroom/ bathhouses conveniently located around the campground. The lake and beach is very nice and relaxing to walk around. There is a nice miniature golf course located around the middle of the property. There is some type of stage where it appears they must hold events. There is a playground for children along with a bounce thing. There is a refreshing looking pool in addition to the lake swimming at their little beaches. This campground is also pet friendly. The water pressure and electric was very good for our small camper. We picked up many channels reliably with our antenna. There is a little camping store that had a good selection of food, drinks, and camping needs. They also offered late check in, which we did need both times. And I apologize to our neighbors in the tents next to us on our second stay there. I did my best to keep the noise down as we settled into our site and got ready for bed around 10:30pm. Each site contained a picnic table and a fire ring. Now for the shortfalls. Unfortunately it seems the majority of sites are on a grade. The first night I was able to get more or less level, the second time, it poured down rain very heavy for the entire night as soon as we got backed into our site. Not only that. I didn't want to disturb our neighbors anymore than we did by disconnecting the trailer and leveling it. The sites that we reserved were really for tents but work for a small camper as well. But they are very tight and close to each other. The other issue we had with the second site was the water and electricity hook ups were too far away on the wrong side to use without an extension cord or a long water hose. Thankfully we didn't have a neighbor on the connection side, so I used the neighboring site utilities. Cell phone service in the area is very spotty and unreliable including the second site we had. The prices were a little higher than many of the other similar campsites we have stayed at. Although it seemed to be on par with the other campground prices along the US 15 corridor in VA and NC. All in all I still would stay there again and recommend it to friends and family. It also appears they are still making improvements to make the experience there even better.

My brother and I both towed our campers (we each have 2 daughters) and stayed at sites orange 3 and orange 9 this weekend. My brother and I grew up camping and we are excited to pass the tradition on with our kids.  We talked about how great your campground was while we played horseshoes on saturday afternoon, while the kids bounced around. We also really appreciate the work you are doing with "upgrades", it is very evident that Small Country is going to transform over time. The remodeled bath house by the camp store was amazingly clean and in working order!

Other than that, the grounds appeared to be well kept. The sites weren't too close together. Unfortunately I did have a hard time sleeping. In the middle of the night, people were grouped up and speaking very loudly directly behind our camper. I never had that happen before. Their conversation was very loud and kept waking me up. I strongly recommend Endeavor Point if you want to just relax on a visit during the day, if you like camping overnight, or staying in a very comfortable cottage over the weekend.
