We visited during the Veterans day weekend. My husband has been really interested in camping but I'm not a fan of roughing it.. So I booked one of the small cabins here. We showed up at night and it was so dark when we rolled in. The moment you pull in there are rabbits EVERYWHERE. They should advertise that more because it is so unique! My only issue was that I was afraid we would accidentally hit one. Thankfully we got to the cabin without incident. We started bringing our bedding and necessities in to the cabin and noticed that one of the outlets was broken so we didn't want to use it just in case. The next morning we went into the office and let them know about the issue. They were surprised and really apologetic about it. Luckily there were other cabins available and we got moved into the one closest to the restrooms. So we switched locations and settled in. In the office you can purchase rabbit food so of course we did. As soon as these guys see that bag they will all hop there way straight for you. I had bunnies all over me. It was magical. I saved some of it for the rabbits hanging out with us at our campsite. That evening we had a wonderful little dinner by the fire with our bunny neighbors. We got a small refund that we didn't expect. I think because of the outlet issue. This is a great place to visit. We will be back. read more

This campground was fun! Sad we only got to stay one night. Highlights This campground has a river that runs through it and a beautiful waterfall. They also have a big heated pool, mini golf, a camp store, you can rent golf carts, and they also had a fishing pond with loads of fish. You were only allowed 3 fish each person. They also have tons of rabbits running all over the campground. You can go tubing in the river which less than a foot deep it seems. Downside: The sites are small and there's really no room to park your truck. They do have pull through sites and tent sites. The site we were on the electric kept going out which shouldn't have happened. They said they wouldn't get anyone out to fix it until the next day which we were leaving the very next day. It was a somewhat muggy night that we had to spend without air conditioning on. We made it work! The restroom/shower house needs to get updated, it was very dirty and out dated. The only thing that was a challenge was how to get to the campsite the road was skinny and hard to see people coming the opposite way. A recommendation I would call this campground "Bunny Falls". It would attract more campers there. If we are ever in the area we might try this campground again but ask for a bigger site. I was able to take some pictures. We were at site 83. read more

We had a nice time. Grounds were nice and clean, self contained so didn't use the facilities. Spots are large enough and situated well. Rabbits run around on the grounds and they are fun to watch. Fishing pond where you can catch some nice rainbow trout. We saw a little boy with three trout and his smile was as large as the fish. Nice place for our dog. We will go again. read more

We rented a camper for 4 days. The grounds and facilities are really nice for it's age. Staff is friendly. The camper we stayed in was very used. Floor was soft, cabinet door broken, screen door broken, some lights not working. Other than the camper itself we had a good time. Camper was not worth the price we paid per night. read more

I've stayed here many times - and we keep coming back! The sites are affordable and there is so much to do - tubing (bring your own or rent for $10), karaoke on Fridays, DJ on Saturdays, bunnies everywhere, playground, fishing pond (no license needed), hot tubs, pool, mini golf. The people working there are always friendly and helpful. As others said, the sites are really close together. This is a family campground, so lots of kids. If you prefer remote camping, this might not be the spot for you. Even with all the "closeness," the campground is quiet after 11:00 and doesn't start bustling until 8:00 or 9:00 am. You can tent, bring your RV, rent a cabin or an RV. We always enjoy our stay! read more

Very nice stay!!! There is a lovely waterfall, nice river floats, a great fishing pond...and adorable bunnies everywhere!! They are so tame that you can practically hand-feed them. Highly recommend it if you are going to visit the Skyline Drive/Blueridge Parkway area. Some of the other campers weren't the friendliest, but you cannot fault the campground for that. read more

Cabin was really small with very little storage and beds were hard. It was fun for a weekend, but I prefer the solitude of a private cabin.

Clown operation. We made a Labor Day weekend reservation back in May for one of their cabins. I traveled from Missouri to be here with my father with this reservation in mind, so not an insignificant trip. We show up at 3:30 on our check-in day (check-in STARTS at 2:00, mind you there is no specification about being "late" because such a rule would be asinine in the extreme) and they've canceled our reservation. Claimed they tried to call, couldn't reach us, and were worried something might have happened so they uhm...canceled our reservation? Yeah it makes no sense to me either. I suspect they knew the people who took our cabin because they said they would kick out the people who took our cabin. Imagine compounding a middle finger to one customer with a middle finger to another customer. The only way they'd do that is if there's a pre-existing relationship with those people. At this point they'd lost our trust- I have a rule about doing business with shady business people. We finally got our money back and will absolutely not be returning to this dump. If they're willing to be this brazenly shady, what else are they doing that we can't see? read more

We've been going to this campground for years and over the last 10 years the place has gone downhill. Tent sites are not inspected regularly and we've seen articles of clothing and litter left at sites. We rake our site out every time and pick up litter, leaving it better than when we found it. In 2022, we rented a tent site and paid to lock in the site, only to get there with a truck full of camping gear and was told the staff had rented out our site to another family who happened to be friends of the staff member. 2024, we had a death in the family and wanted to get away for a few days just to process things and again, rented the same site as in 2022, locked it in, got all set up and settled and the next day, a couple came down and told us we were in the spot they rented THAT WASN'T MARKED!!!! Management didn't do anything to make it right until we packed up camp to go home. They refunded our money but this was so unfair to treat locals who actually take care of your sites better than when they are found the way they did. We will NEVER go back and would not recommend tent camping at this campground until they get the right staff or management in there to properly run it. Last, I want to mention that the bathrooms are horrible up on the hill. Some of the doors don't properly close, and the cleaning or lack thereof leaves a lot to the imagination. The hill is also now a parking lot for RV's. A lot of work needs to be done to get this place back to what it once was, and to stop letting people come in and trash the place. WOW. read more

They really pack you in there. It is very difficult driving down the road to get to our site. Barely made it through due to very small sites on one side of the road which makes them hang over into the road. Sites are very small and on top of each other. Felt guilty putting our slide out out for even though it was on our site still, it was about 5 feet from the neighbors table. The girl who checked us in was friendly but the "security" guys are not friendly at all and totally not helpful. Very crowded and loud on the weekends with loud DJ playing music until 11. Definitely will not stay here again and do not recommend. read more

Spent a weekend here with the family (+dog) in May 2021, we had a great time! I did not give it 5 stars because the sites were close together and tight (we have a 23' travel trailer and GMC Sierra) and there weren't many places to hike around. Other then that I highly recommend this campground. Great weather, pool was amazing and kids really enjoyed the playgrounds and bunnies! This is the second year we came back for my younger son's birthday (he is 6 now) I love this park because is: 1.- Not expensive 2.- River and waterfall are incredible. Water is cold even when is 100 degrees. 3.- Staff are always friendly. 4.- Showers and restrooms are always well maintained and clean. 5.- Alcohol is permitted but you can't make noise after the curfew of 11 PM (and they reinforce this) 6.- Pool is OK, but the hot tubs are great!!! 7.- We watched the world soccer cup games in the Gameroom. 8.- Camp sites are big enough for 2 tents and 2 cars. 9.- Picnic table and a fire pit are a plus, but no grill at all, bring yours... Definitely a family oriented campground. If you don't like kids, don't bother coming here and rent yourself a cabin in the middle of nowhere. But if you like kids, like us, it's perfect, hear them yell and laugh when they ride their bikes and swing in the river, or when they are roasting marshmallows by the fire... that is priceless. I will gave them 5 stars but I was shut off at 11 PM, I was too noisy but that is me. I will definitively be coming back next year, but this time I will take camp sites F11 and F12 so nobody complaint about my loud laughing... read more

There are some creatures that aren't mentioned on the website ....roaches. We rented RV 12 and about 4 minutes after we had arrived we saw an adult sized roach on the wall. We immediately went to the office to let them know and they allowed us to Stay for free on a campground our family had already paid for and refunded our money for the camper. I felt more could've and should've been offered but oh well. Tubing down the river is the best part of the stay. It's $10 per tube until 8:00pm. The pool is okay but dirty and the mini golf needs some upkeep. I didn't try the food there but did get some ice cream from the general store which was fine.i would return but only with our tent or our own camper. My daughter is 9 and said she loved it. When tubing I do recommend a life jacket for the younger kids because there are some places where the rapids are fast and kids could get pulled under. read more

First stay last weekend. The campground was completely full which means it should be the place to stay. The RV spots are just like those you find at a KOA, no trees between your neighbors and very close to each other. Like a KOA campground they have many, many activities to enjoy for the entire family and more. You really don't need to leave the campground to have a fun day! Wife loved the river tubing float that finishes at a small waterfall you can enjoy from the river. Many reasons why this is so popular, including the RV onsite storage at a very low rate per month. We left our RV and rode the 2 1/2 hours back home without the hassle of towing it back. They will even move it from storage to your rental spot (small fee) on your return and discount you storage fees for each night you stay in a month. Your RV will be ready for you to just plug in when you arrive so we are being told. KOA could be better using the SVC model. It was not all roses though. The campsite was not level and required a 1 1/2 foot rise on one side to get it level. First attempt the wheels slipped off the levelers and could have caused serious damage if items and people were close when it slipped. Finally able to get secured at that height and not an issue for the rest of the stay. Biggest issue was the 30-amp service wasn't able to maintain proper voltage. Running just AC and 1000 watt 12-volt converter it would dip below the 103 volts many times (over 10 times a day) and our surge protector would kick off the power supply for 90 seconds to protect the AC compressor on restarts. Will give them another try at a different spot and see if the power issue was isolated to just to that spot or campground wide. Again, they were completely sold out and could have been the true cause of the power drops. read more

The following summer the odd staff was replaced and everyone is doing a great job. Whatever was killing the bunnies is now gone and they have started doing what bunnies do and there are more out and about. The dumpsters at the top of the hill has definitely cut down on flies. They've paved a good part of the main road. We stayed there more the past summer than other campgrounds. read more

My husband and I arrived here on a Thursday night for a three-night stay. On the first day, we couldn't connect to the cable TV so we stopped by the store/office to see what we could do. They immediately sent a maintenance guy to our site to help. He was soooo helpful and knowledgeable and went out of his way to ensure our cable worked. As a matter of fact, the whole office staff was very helpful and courteous. The abundance of bunnies was so nice. They are obviously very used to people, and would come right up to you. Those were the pluses. Now for the minuses. The sites are so close together, it takes away from any privacy you may wish for while camping. Can you say "cramping"? They offer karaoke on Friday night and a DJ on Saturday night (both the same person). Both "events" we're a joke. I believe they just like to advertise that they have these events, but they do nothing to make it fun or inviting. The music is awful, they don't offer any food or beverages, and the pavilion where it is located is remote with such poor sound that nobody would even notice there was anything going on. We were very disappointed. I would love to see them put some effort into making these events fun! Would we return? Maybe, if We can't find anything better in the area. read more

My wife and I are a middle-aged couple who travel with our two dogs. We try to avoid KOAs and other similar campgrounds that have a lot of kids because we prefer solitude when camping. We never seem to be able to find a nice campground in Virginia, but this one was convenient on our way home from South Carolina so we decided to try it. As we were trying to set up, kids kept riding their bikes and walking through our site, acting as if we weren't even there. After we finished setting up I noticed that a lot of campers used their trucks, toads, and picnic tables to try to prevent the kids coming through their sites, and we followed suit. The internet didn't work while we were here (seems it's almost always "down" according to reviews we've seen on other sites) and our cable TV didn't work until we went to the office to complain and they sent someone out to fix it. Oh, and we had to walk to the office because no one ever answers the phone here. Of the four times we left a message with our call back number, we received one return call. There is absolutely NO privacy in this campground - the sites are short and narrow, with nothing dividing the camping pads. This being Virginia, you'll see all kinds of... "different" types of people here. We saw a young woman with a child in her lap riding a motortorized leather recliner around the campground (!) and another camper with their pet pig in a pen on their site (or maybe it was going to be their supper). Oh, and there are LOTS of semi-tame rabbits running (hopping) around - we were told some bizarre story about how a camper released their pet rabbit here years ago, and since rabbits... well, you know... PROCREATE like rabbits, there has been a population explosion. So between the ill mannered kids - presumably raised by ill mannered parents - and rabbits... and barking dogs ... and being packed in like sardines... This is one of the worst campgrounds we have ever visited, but if you have kids and don't mind a lack of privacy you'll probably like it as there are LOTS of activities. read more

Road to get to camp very windy and narrow. Roads in camp are very narrow. Sites are narrow but shady. Ours had garbage in the fire ring. People in the office are very nice. Golf carts speed and don't follow road direction. Pool is very nice and big but way up the hill if you are camped near the river Mostly for families with kids - popups, class C, travel trailers. But if you are in a tent you have to walk up the big hill to get to a bathhouse. Would not recommend for larger RVs. Tubing down the Middle River is the best and the waterfall is very pretty. Wifi was constantly dropping. Need this to communicate with family at home. Very annoying. read more

After Shenandoah Acres in Stuart's Draft closed a few years back, we'd had a void to fill every summer. We decided to try SVC because it seemed like a family-friendly place and had everything my two boys (8 and 9 yo) would want. We were not disappointed. We got a rental camper and it was set up for us when we got there. The site was clean and we had no complaints when we went in because the camper was immaculate, well-kept and had no issues whatsoever. Matter of fact, the entire campground is so clean. You can tell the family really cares about upkeep and it was clear in the store, the bathrooms, the pool and hot tubs, even the roads and sites were spotless. Maintenance was spot-on. We were having an issue with a bathroom light and even though it was late (after 9pm) someone showed up so quickly I was pleasantly surprised! We stayed Fri-Mon and Fri night they have karaoke and Sat night they have a Dj. The children are younger so we enjoyed s'mores at the campsite but it seemed like the people that did go had a great time. It was really easy to get anything you needed at the store/office and everyone- I mean, EVERYONE, was so friendly and helpful and genuine. The mini-golf is great! You wouldn't expect much for $1 and at first glance we were skeptical, but appearances are deceiving and it was a very fun and challenging little course. The pool was spotless and all the chairs clean. We had no noise complaints, either. It was noisy every night with all the families there up until about 10:30pm but after that it tapered off and by 11 everyone was snug as a bug at their site, quiet and peaceful. The playgrounds were well-kept and the pond was nice with some very interesting sounding frogs (: There are only a few reasons I can't give SVC 5 stars, because they are SO close to being perfect: 1) The sites are VERY close together. Don't come expecting privacy. There really isn't room for more than 1 vehicle at most sites and we were hesitant to leave our windows open because there were cabins literally a stone's throw behind our camper 2) ANTS and FLIES! There were carpenter ants and flies everywhere!! The kitchen, the bathroom, the bedrooms....The sites are all heavily wooded so I guess it's unavoidable but we were stepping over them, swiping them from the bathroom sink, knocking them off the ceiling over the bed. Not a big deal- it's just bugs- but it was a little obnoxious at times. 2) They could use a few more amenities. Things like bike rentals, fishing gear rentals, balls and pool toys in the store, etc. 3) The store gets a little crowded. Sometimes it would take 10 minutes or more to just get a bag of ice. They have a large staff so I don't know the exact issue, but you had to be prepared to stand in line at the store. 4) The river was a little too low for tubing. Everyone was getting stuck on the rocks. It wasn't very relaxing. That's no one's fault but my own because I had never been tubing before and next time I will definitely hike down to the river and eye-ball the level before plunking down $40 All in all, this is a great place. It is perfect for families, the staff is amazing, it's a beautiful, secluded little spot that feels safe and fun and we will definitely be going back as long as SVC keeps up the good work. Even if you don't have a camper, or you've never even been camping but you want to try, get a rental like we did. You won't be disappointed! read more

Had a great experience. Waterfall on site, river is right by the tent camping, and the compact layout facilitates easy access to all the facilities. Brought our lower key bachelor party there this past weekend and it was a great fit. A little weird having to reserve so many campsites for the amount of people we had and having to be so specific listing people when we reserved but they were laid back. Definitely family oriented, but felt safe, close to the highway, and overall laid back. read more

This is a very family friendly campground with lots of activities for the kids. The wild bunnies are great to watch and feed. The pool was nice/clean and was a good size. We stayed in the cabins and were happy with the amenities and size. Each cabin had a large porch/deck with a picnic table and glider chair. We did have an AC/Heating unit that was great except that it was leaking water into our cabin. My main complaint would be how close you are to your neighbor campers. The campsites were very close to one another (especially if you were camping in a tent). However, campsites near the river seemed to have a little more area to move around and were less congested. Also, there are some very nice playgrounds for the children on site. The river was very nice to float down with a tube ($10 on-site rental w/ $50 refundable deposit but you can bring your own tube). We did get snagged on a lot of rocks as we got closer to the waterfall area. Best bet is to get out a couple hundred yards from the waterfall and walk on the path the rest of the way. The river is very calm and perfect for first time floaters (I took my son who is 2 and he loved it). The hot tubs room is pretty cool and very relaxing as long as the management keeps the underage children out. We had to ask the staff to get some underage kids to leave as they were screaming and jumping in the hot tubs. The evening entertainment was pretty cool with Karaoke one night and a live DJ the second night in the small pavilion area. The general store was very nice and well stocked but a little overpriced (but this is usually expected). Staff always seemed to be friendly. Tip- Use the showers/bathrooms at the general stores as they are much larger and provide more individual amenities. I would give this campground 3.5 stars. It would be a 4 star review if the campsites were spread out a little more. read more

Break an ankle, or one of your child's, in one of the millions of rabbit holes throughout the property. There are better places to camp within a small radius of this place. read more

This campground was beautiful. Nice pull through full hook up spots surround by trees that were well trimmed. We played miniature gold while we were there, road our bikes around and went down to the creek. They have a beautiful waterfall flowing into the creek there. People were very friendly and tried to make sure we were well taken care of. read more

We stumbled upon this campground while driving from NY to NC. My 2 year old loved it! There is a great waterfall, and bunnies that the kids can feed. We are planning on returning so that he can enjoy all of the other amenities. We stayed in one of the cabins, which was very clean and comfortable. Thank you for your hospitality! read more

We pulled in for a one night stay while traveling south and I regret having to leave! The staff is super nice and the place is so family oriented! We camped in a camper van and had full hook ups. There was so much do and our daughter loved the two playgrounds and large pool. There even had heated Jacuzzi's. There is a catch and release pond, an arcade, tubes for rent, and they were showing a family movie in the pavilion and we stopped in on a wednesday! We will absolutely return to this campground! FYI- There is a wild bunny population and they are super cute and friendly! read more

We went to this campground over a weekend. I looked forward to all of the great activites that they had to offer to include a pool, hot tubs, fishing, and river rafting. When I checked in at the front desk the staff was very friendly and accomadating. We set up our campsites which were unfortunately right on top of eachother.We then went to the pool. It was nice, and then the crowd of about 30 people from a family reunion showed up. They weren't campers, but I believe that they rented out the pavillion. My family and I were restricted to one corner of the pool because of the influx. Eventually we went and sat in the baby pool to avoid the crowd. I went back to our campsite to take a nap and that is when all of the others campers started showing up. Needless to say my nap was over. That night I slept horribly thanks to people partying. Aside from the friendly staff the enitre experience was horrible. read more

Very rude staff and didn't refund our money after they double booked one of our sites. I booked 2 sites for a holiday weekend and was required to book both sites for 3 nights. My friends had to leave after the 2nd night, they packed up and the site was empty but I they made me pay for the 3rd night ahead of time. When we got back from the pool, the site that I paid was occupied by another camper. I went to the office to get a refund for that site since they double booked it. The staff was very rude and told me no, that is company policy, but they got double the revenue for the same site. It was their error and they didn't have the decency to refund the money. I will never stay here again and deal with this horrible customer service. read more

Contacted online to make a reservation for the following weekend. Site confirmed, then stated it may take up to 24hours to get an email confirmation. Waited, no email or phone call. Tried calling ~ answering machine says open 9-7. Well, either all staff was late that day or no one bothered to show up at all. Finally after more than a dozen calls, someone answered. Was told "our online site reservation link doesn't work". "We are full, nothing available for the next few weeks". Person was very rude and not very helpful. Never even said, I apologize. Nothing. Why would you have that link still available online? Why wouldn't you upgrade the site? They obviously have the money, especially if they are booked for the next few weeks. All in all, we won't even give them another try. We had previously stayed there before for a conference I was attending locally, and they had us double booked with another family. Won't go back. Found another campground who are very friendly and accommodating. read more
