We were able to bring outside food in, and we split a flight in their gorgeous tasting room. Prices were super reasonable and their grounds are absolutely stunning. Was looking for a winery in the area after visiting Monticello. We came across Blenheim. Enter walking down some stairs. The building is beautiful. All wood decor with large windows opened to the vineyards. They have indoor seating as well as tables out in the patio. They take your order at the counter and you bring to any open table. They have a tasting that you can purchase for $15. You can pick all white or red, or a mix. We ordered a glass of farm white. Great flavor and not very dry. This was my second time visiting but my first time sitting in the A-framed structured tasting room where you can see the wine making process taking place in the cellar below. Not being a fan of red wines in general, the 2022 Albariño had an approachable flavor that was not dry and overly aggressive. My girlfriends and I came on a lovely fall day and had a great time. We brought our own picnic and enjoyed the wine and grounds. People clearly "make a day" of hanging out here. The big 700. What does one review for their 700th review? I would like to say a special occasion, a fancy meal, etc. However, as someone who has been to over 100 Dave Matthews concerts, it seems appropriate that his vineyard would be a special review. We finally struck gold...well maybe silver...after repeated fails at Charlottesville area wineries. We are huge Dreaming Tree wine fans (and die hard Dave Matthews Band fans), so we obviously had to make the trip to Blenheim. Maybe our opinions are skewed by our love of all things Dave Matthews, but we really enjoyed our tastings and learning about the wines from Michael, our server. Not every wine was a winner and other wineries definitely have better views, hence the 4 stars instead of 5, but two or three of the wines were great-very drinkable-and it was a nice tasting room, excellent service, and a decent view, if not the best. Their steel cask wines are better then the oaked wines. Their "On the Line" white, the rose', and their "Painted Red" (the red blend, but not the painted white) were the ones we brought home with us. Considered joining the wine club too but we have too much wine as it is. Although, is there such a thing? Anyway, he knows wine and he knows music. This should be one of your stops. Wonderful second stop on our wine day. The staff were so friendly. I made a reservation for Friday for the deck but thankfully because it wasn't crowded we were able to move under the tent. The deck is beautiful but got less breeze and during the day it was hot! Right now, they do not have any indoor space open so be prepared. The scenery is beautiful. I ordered a flight and a bottle. We also were able to bring our own snacks to enjoy. The prices were great and the location was a blast. read more

Blenheim Vineyards has been on my "to visit" list for a while. I mean, I'm writing this as a Dave fan. I had been gifted Blenheim wine from friends over the years but this past DMB weekend was finally my time to visit! Of course I picked the most crowded time to come when all the other DMB fans are in town to sample wine before the show. For visiting on one of their busiest days, they were very organized with directing parking, plenty of areas to hang out so it never felt overwhelming, and had a food truck and merch as well (and clean bathrooms too!) I sampled the rose, which was nice and dry as I like. I also tried one of their red wines which was also very good. And being Dave owned, I love it even more. read more

Incredible! We were in Charlottesville for a wedding and extended our stay for a day so we could explore some of the wineries and all that the area has to offer. As huge DMB fans, it only made sense that we stopped by Blenheim. From the second we arrived, there was a relaxed and chill vibe that clicked with us. The whole place is decorated with Dave's art, which is just amazing to see alone. We chose to do a guided wine tasting, which I can't recommend enough. Marciah (Marcy-Ah) I'm not sure I'm spelling her name properly, was amazing. She was so knowledgeable about everything, super sweet, funny and just a joy to chat with. She even did interpretive dances to explain how the wines tasted. I wanted to hug her when we left but we're still in Covid times so, even after a few glasses of wine, I held back We stayed for almost 4 hours, ate, drank, laughed, soaked in the views and loved every minute of our visit. I can't recommend Blenheim enough. We can't wait to come back when we visit again. read more

Blenheim is such a delight because it's not psychotically packed like some larger tasting rooms in the Charlottesville area. When you walk into the tasting room, you can take a peak into the wine production area through a glass floor, and if you keep walking forward, you can go out to the porch for some vineyard views. While they aren't the most awe-inspiring views, they're still very nice. As with many wineries in the wake of Covid, the tasting experience (outside of a reservation) has become a flight instead. The staff was quick and courteous and answered any questions we had. The wines are largely on the dry side (which is great) and the flights we had were all great. The refs were especially well done, our favorites being the Cab Franc and Painted. read more

The rose was phenomenal and the atmosphere was very peaceful. The staff was considerate and it was a wonderful way to spend our Saturday afternoon. My only critique would be the reds. Blenheim is perhaps most known as the winery purchased and designed by Dave Matthews who of course started the Dave Mathews Band in Charlottesville. Much of the art here has his touch. But I think you will like this winery even if you are not a fan of the DMB. The Blenheim Vineyards winery building is split into the tasting room above, from which you can peer through paneled glass floors into the wine production facility below. It is a nice mellow adult wine drinking experience with a back deck for views. The tasting room staff provide good service and have solid knowledge of wines. I'm a fan of the wines here. In particular, I would recommend checking out the 2017 Cab Franc. It's 100% aged in oak and has nice tobacco and peppercorn notes. I am imagine there being much competition with Trump winery less than a mile away. Although trumps view is incomparable, Blenheim offers a much more low-key environment for friends to gather. I was greeted by multiple smiles and a gentleman recommended the Cabernet franc. When he learned that I came alone and was planning to sit outside, he recommended the bench under a tree outside. I didn't understand why that specific spot was his favorite till I walked over. You may not notice this from Photos, but there is a white building that blocks your view of mountain at the tables with shade. Beautiful place but the manager/lady who acts like she is in charge sucks. She was completely rude and inconsiderate and would not help our group of 12 with anything. When we asked to turn up the music in their seating area she said no. When we asked if Dave Matthews owned the winery and if we could play his music she said no because she refused to listen to his music everyday. Overall...never coming back. Update...we were there for an hour because our schedule and rude said so and had the opportunity to try the pizza from Blue Ridge pizza company. Casual winery, lots of outdoor seating. While Blenheim's wines aren't my favorite wines out of all the wines produced locally, that is not to say I don't thoroughly enjoy them. All of Blenheim's wines are "old-world" style and therefore dry, but they're all also very drinkable and unintimidating. All of the wines they produce that I have tried have been non-offensive and tasty. Meaning, I could choose any bottle to share and be happy with the choice, but they aren't necessarily knocking my socks off "WOW" wines. Which is okay. 90% of the time that I'm drinking wine, I'm sharing with friends and drinking with a meal so it's better to have a wine that is pleasing to more palettes and goes well with most food. I enjoy the casual atmosphere of this winery. Although I love checking out all the area wineries, there can definitely be an air of pretentiousness hanging above some. Not here. The service in Blenheim's tasting room has always been very friendly and accessible, and no one casts a demeaning sideways glance when I'm there with my toddler son. Family-friendly due to the large area of outdoor seating and open lawn (for kids to run if they want). Very often live music ok the weekends and food trucks. This winery also happens to be our neighbor, and we love having a place like this right next door. The funky artwork that Dave Matthews makes for the wine is pretty cool, too! read more

Didn't get to actually visit the vineyard - they were at capacity of walk-ins, so we purchased some wine curbside from the comfort of our vehicle. Their menus were sanitized and laminated, and we bought the Cabernet Franc and the Viognier. We enjoyed both wines! We picked up a couple of shirts designed by Dave Matthews, too - super cute! What a fun unplanned stop on our short Monticello Wine Trail journey. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed. Kid and dog friendly. The vibes matched the wines. We tried a flight of four wines--on the line white, painted white, painted red and the rose. All were approachable, tasty, easy drinking wines. Perfect to open and enjoy with friends. The space is beautifully designed, with a stunning tasting room and comfortable outdoor spaces. Overall, the experience was like being at a fun garden party. Slowly making my way through all the amazing vineyards near Charlottesville and had a great time at Blenheim. Our friend mentioned wanting to visit the one owned by Dave Matthews and we happened to pick this one by chance without realizing he owned it! Loved that we could bring our own snacks and that the tables were well spaced out. When we pulled in the sign our front said they were at full capacity and reservations were required, but we took a chance and asked if they had extra room - luckily they did! We spent several hours here and enjoyed every minute of it. The portable restrooms are also very surprisingly clean! Blenheim is also dog friendly so win all around :) read more

This was my first winery/Vineyard experience and I was impressed! We made a reservation online first, and were ushered to the outdoor patio seating, which had umbrellas (shielding from the sun). It was so lovely out and from the patio had a really nice view of the vineyards. Not many others there so definitely felt like we had our own space, and basically private. We ordered the flight, which were all really tasty - I personally was a fan of the white wine included in the flight. We also got a bottle of chardonnay, which was recommended by the host, which was also great. The service was lovely - helpful and friendly. I saw other groups which brought their own food, as well as dog. So dog-friendly as well as bring your own food, altho they have some pretty tasty looking options there as well. It was a rainy afternoon when we rolled into Blenheim Vineyard. Unbeknownst to us, this is Dave Matthew's winery. Clearly we were here because the great Yelp reviews and stunning photos of the tasting room caught our eye. Sorry, Dave. Good news is, you make some delicious wines and this vineyard is stunning. it was the photos of the tasting room on Yelp that caught our eye and made this one of our two vineyard stops during our short weekend visit to Virginia. It was a rainy afternoon at Blenheim but that didn't stop the tasting room from shining bright over the vines with vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. The wines are all on the drier side so if you have a few sweet tooth drinkers in your group, this may not be the best stop. My dry preferences enjoyed several of the wines that we tried during the tasting (I believe it was 6 pours?). All of the whimsical wine bottle labels are designed by Dave Matthews which definitely offers a laid back feel to the wine and vineyard itself. Our wine guide was very friendly and made the experience pleasant from start to finish. Note that it can get a bit crowded in the tasting room and that counter space is limited. I imagine this is less of a problem if the weather cooperates and the outdoor bars are in use. read more
