We didn't try any food this time but can't wait to come hungry next time! They have brews and cider which were so good! The service was very helpful and they have outside and inside bars. What a gorgeous farm it's located within with tons of areas for the kids and dogs to play in. Ducks and chickens wander around and there's axe throwing, tons of outdoor covered and uncovered seating along with a wood stove sitting area and kids play area inside. Plenty of parking too!

A really great country brewery with lots of things to do and see. It is a fun area with a dog park, outdoor seating/bar and a good list of craft beers. Very dog friendly and a good menu of food and non-alcohol drinks as well. Thought the inside was a bit dirty (flies all over the window by the table we ate at). Fun place and definitely would return.

Fabulous black briar cider, and reasonable prices. The food is always interesting and delicious. Live music is a great addition at a brewery with an already amazing vibe as chickens run around your feet and the sun sets in the distance. 10/10 would recommend for kids and adults alike.

Fun, down to earth, family friendly brewery et al. They've got axe throwing! A dog park! A play ground! Roaming roosters! It did get a little loud when several families with kids arrived, but the front of the brewery offers seating that's further away from the playground. Parking lot was small and I've got to imagine it gets absolutely packed on weekends. My sister and I hung out, enjoying the atmosphere and our drinks. They've got a decent looking food menu, but we didn't order anything. I had no idea what I wanted and they were so nice about giving me tastes and recommendations until I landed on the white sangria. My sister had the sour which was also pretty good. Looks like they've got a set up for fire pits in the evenings and once the weather gets cooler. I would definitely come back again.

Patio seating just off of the parking area, overlooking the beautiful mountains.

One of my must visit places when i'm 'home'. I make sure to work my trip around a Thursday - Sunday just so I can take the family to OTB for an afternoon / evening. Such a relaxing vibe, grab your cider, sit at one of the many tables and take in the unmatched views! If you're looking for more fun, there's plenty of that too. Axe throwing is a must and easy to register for through the website. Plenty of room to roam for dogs & kiddos, with play structures too. I'm not a beer drinker but I haven't met one of their ciders that I don't like. The food is always delicious they have a rotating menu. The nashville hot chicken sandwich & lobster roll were some of my favorites from last summer.

Great place for live music and food - and it's very dog friendly! The food and cider were very very good.

Came here with my wife and her family. We really enjoyed this place, the ciders and brews were unique, and the views were rurally scenic. Parking was easy, there's a grass/stone lot that we had no trouble finding a space in on a Sunday afternoon. The entrance was well marked. Though this place does seem to be pretty entrenched in the middle of nowhere, the drive was scenic. I really enjoyed the Kalb Pilsner, while my wife loved the Nocturnal. We had two flights: one of ciders and the other of local beers. Both were pretty great, I don't care for IPAs, but my father in law said the Foggy Morning IPA was good. The food was good but nothing special. I had a cheeseburger which mostly resembled something I'd make at home. I have neither complaints nor raves. The focus is much more on the ciders and uniqueness of their brews.

Excellent visit! It's a little farther than I like to go on my brewery trips, but the samples made it worth while. OTB had its soft opening in mid 2017 and to an extent is still finding its way. They didn't yet have a reliable list of 'house' beers that will always be on tap, but as they learn about their audience their beer list will stabilize (with a rotating lineup to add to it). But my service was spot on, and the location was family friendly (even with a kiddie playground section). I tried almost their entire assortment and came away very impressed by several. Their Trappist beer was a little sweet but very yummy, and I liked their Holiday and Porter beers. While I normally like sour beers, theirs was more sweet than sour (which the brewer admitted was not his intention, but will try again later). The biggest surprise was the apple beer. No, this isn't a cider - its a beer made with some apples added in. I asked the brewer and he plans on making this place a cidery as well sometime in the future, which I find to be very exciting.

Visited Old Trade Brewery on Sunday of their Grand Opening Weekend. The place was semi-busy when I arrived mid-afternoon. It was a very warm day outside - and it was on the verge of being to warm inside the building. Apparently they have AC, but for whatever reason, they were not using it. I would have preferred they had it on. There was not much selection to taste during my visit - as they had gone through a lot of beer during the previous day. I ordered a tasting flight of the remaining four beers: Banana Boat Hefeweizen (5.6% ABV) Sara Berliner Weisse (4.7% ABV) Sunrise Pale Ale (6.0% ABV) Junior Porter (5.7% ABV) All four beers were well executed from a flavor profile perspective. I don't typically order Hefeweizen's or Berliner Weisse outside of tasting flights - but both were good beers. My fave Ale of the day was the Sunrise Pale Ale - enough so that I ordered a pint of it after finishing my tasting flight. I got to meet Garrett, one of the owners and brewer - super nice guy. We got to chat quite a bit during my visit. I enjoyed hearing his tales of the brewery. He took me back for a quick tour of the brewing area as well. During my visit, there was a musician performing in the corner - he was pretty good. There is a small dedicated play area inside for children - as well as an old-school popcorn machine. Outside was a food truck. Great little Farm-based craft brewery! I will be back and next time dragging some of my friends in tow! #OldTradeBrewery

Great food and excellent beer. Exciting and relaxing atmosphere out on the farm. Family friendly and dog friendly. Great outside seating as well as inside. Large children's playground. Great music on the weekends.

Stopped by for a drink on our way home from Charlottesville with the kids. The beer was really good and the atmosphere was great. Relaxing outdoor tables and lots of fun stuff for the kids. We wished we could have stayed for another drink! Beautiful sunset views!

This a hidden gem in Culpeper! There are a good amount of beers on tap, great outdoor seating, and some indoor seating as well. They have axe throwing, a kids play area (indoor and outdoor), free range chickens, live music, and today they did a cornhole tournament! We ate some Buffalo chicken nachos and sour beer and they were really good!

If you're from out of town and you're expecting rushed service and the immediacy of the big city, this might not be the place for you. But if you're looking for something truly special, slide up to the bar. Be patient...the bartender will be there as soon as they're done listening to Old Bill tell his story. Order a beer and a pizza and take a seat at one of their small tables. Enjoy and unhurried drink. And right about the time you're feeling like ordering a second beer, your hot, delicious, perfectly cooked pizza will be dropping out of the ceiling on a dumb waiter (yes, from the ceiling...you read that right). Smother it in locally made hot sauce (an unexpected plus), grab your second beer and enjoy that delicious pizza with someone you love, or the new friend you made at the table next to you. But for God's sake, be patient, be kind, be respectful. Cause you're likely visiting, and Far Gohn is all about the local vibe!!

That being said, there's some issues with it that are hard to overlook. I'll start by saying that the staff are mostly really kind and professional. There have been one or two who looked like they hated their jobs, but everyone else has been attentive. There's not a whole lot of seating space available at this location. So, if you're trying to visit during peak hours, it might be a bit difficult. There's some outside seating available, but if it's raining or anything, it's not recommended. The chief problem I've had is with the pizza. Nevermind the fact a German style brewery is making pizzas - the pizzas themselves are an absolute hit or miss, with most of the time being misses. The pizzas are overpriced for how inconsistent the quality is. They're either just right or super crunchy and inedible. If you're ordering to-go, add 10-20 minutes to the wait time they give you and that's how long it'll actually take. If you're here for a decent brew, it's a decent brewery with a bit of a following in Culpeper and it's worth checking out. I'd steer clear of the pizzas.

The event runs from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm. It was a cold, overcast day with a threat of rain - and yet the place was packed to the gills! There was a stage set up with live music, lots of food vendors, and over 30 breweries to sample from. We hit a number of breweries - and not all of them. Some we intentionally skipped for various reasons (Dogfish Head - we've drank many of their beers), Anheuser-Busch (NOT a craft brewery - EPIC FAIL!
