Churro
Rodney A.

The churro on the truck picture looks nothing like the churro you get. I was looking forward to a traditionally long, and crunchy churro. They were not that, but dang they were awesome!!! Soooo good! Great price on them too! They came out hot and the topping was warm! Great - quick service. Loved the whole experience!!!

Classic pastels and coxinhas. Fried on the spot, these will be piping hot and ready for consumption in just a couple minutes. The coxinhas reminded me of my childhood and were a pleasant snack to share.

Holy Romeo and Juliet!?! Who knew that guava and cheese were 2 things that should go together? I for sure didn't and then put it inside of a delicate, perfect crispy pastry ... I mean it's what dreams are made of! If I knew about this when this truck used to be south I would have been there more often! Now they are located in a food truck park by UT campus. Depending on the day and time parking can be difficult but it's worth the head ache for a pastel, especially the Romeo and Juliet! The food here is amazing and the staff is always friendly. If you are in the food truck park trying to decide what to eat I'd say give this place your business! You won't regret it!

To get straight to the point- this was SO GOOD. For context- pastel is a Brazilian street food that closely resembles an empanada. It was a lot bigger than I expected and all of them were so flavorful. The shredded chicken mixed with parsley and green onion was a *chefs kiss* and THAT CHEESE HIT DIFFERENT uuugggghhh it was like soft and fluffy almost like cream cheese. The second one I had was the "Bauru" which had shredded ham, sliced tomato, mozzarella, and oregano. The mozzarella was perfectly melted and the flavor of the ham was divine. The last one I had was called "Romeo & Juliet". I got this one because it reminded me of Puerto Rico with the guava paste and cheese pairing and BOY it was so so so good. That flavor combination is one of my all time and looooookkkk attttt alllll thatttt guavaaaa pasteeee 20/10 ‍

A little taste of Brazil! Give yourself a chance to eat "pastel", a Brazilian version of empanadas. Not too salty, crispy dough, not too oily as well. Good selection of flavors (savory and sweet), there's even a vegan option of heart of palms!!! They're huge and the price is worth it!

We stopped here yesterday afternoon! The food was fire! Absolutely incredible. We had the Meat and Cheese Pastel, the ham and cheese and two pepperoni pastels. The owner gave us two guava drinks to try. The food was the best thing I've ever had! I was blown away. We went back ordered two more cans of juice and another meat and cheese. Ate that. Then went back a third time ordered two more drinks and another meat and cheese for the road! Absolutely awesome amazing food!

I've been in Austin for over 12 yrs and one of the things I missed the most about Brazil was pastel (Brazilian empanadas) finally they open this one and it's amazing! The place is cool, the food is delicious ,the service is high quality and the price is reasonable. They have different flavors all made from scratch,my favorites are Chicken,Cheese and Pizza but they are all good. I'm already a client even tho it just opened. If you miss Brazilian pastel or if you are just curious to try Brazilian street food come to this place! It's delicious! I Totally recommend it!

The fact that Pastelaria São Paulo serve the pastel with vinagrete it's already a plus! I tried the beef & cheese, chicken with cream cheese, and palm heart with mushrooms, my favorito I would say it's the chicken with cream cheese. Diogo and Clara did a great job with the crispy dough and with the customer service. I definitely recommend you to stop by and try this famous Brazilian street food!

been meaning to try this place out since they moved to West Campus and im really glad i did. came for the hearts of palm pastel but they were out, so i went with cheese and it was crispy, flaky and perfect. Price is very reasonable since it's quite big - larger than my hand! can confirm that this is the closest you can get to authentic Brazilian street food in Austin. Also Diogo is so nice and service is fast. I wish they hadn't been out of the diet Guaraná or the hearts of palm, but I did come by on a Sunday afternoon, so I'll have to come back another day for those.

Excellent Brazilian Pasteis. Tried the Pizza and Hearts of palm. Both were excellent ! I can say the were even better than many Ive had in Brazil before !

They have different options, from the full experience to an executive one, which is what we chose (with about 8-9 types of unlimited meat). The salad bar is amazing and everything was super fresh. They brought us pão de queijo (the famous Brazilian cheese bread) and some fried yuca to start. Then they came around with the different meats and EVERY single one was delicious, perfectly cooked, juicy and seasoned just right. They even had grilled pineapple, which I loved. We ordered caipirinhas and they were the best I've ever had so far in Austin. The passion fruit one was incredible. This place definitely stole my heart. They even surprised my mom with a complimentary dessert for her birthday. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was amazing. I'd 100% come back!

I take that back, I do not care for lamb, but that is a personal choice. The meats are great. The pineapple at the end of your meal is almost like dessert. The price is good for everything you get. I wish people would follow dress code more. Some of the patrons looked like hobos and this is a nice restaurant. When your waiter or waitress is in a tux and you're wearing T-shirt shorts, crocs, and a cap. Maybe you should feel bad. Other than some of the patrons looking like feral people, this is a great restaurant to come to. Put on your nice clothes on, put the cloth napkin on your lap and bring your appetite. For dessert I suggest the flaming cheesecake.

Backyard patio has some big bricks for the kids to play with. Parking is a bit confusing at first but there's additional parking to the side if the entrance lot is full. We sat outside and ordered the following dishes: Coxinha (shredded chicken croquette) was excellent and very kid friendly. Crispy on the outside while incredibly creamy and soft on the inside. 9/10 Bolinha de Queijo (fried cheese balls) were my son's favorite, basically their version of mozzarella sticks. 9/10 Pizza Queijo, cheese pizza with crust stuffed with Brazilian cream cheese, really good. 8/10 Espetinho de Chicken Heart, my wife's choice and she loved it. Dense, slightly chewy, and best with lime and the creamy pepper sauce the waiter brought after I asked. 8/10 Strogonoff de Frango, the standout main dish. Rich, creamy, perfectly seasoned sauce with excellent rice and crispy potato sticks. 9/10 Caipirinha Tradicional, solid and paired well with the savory dishes. 9/10 Caipirinha de Caju, my wife loved it, perfectly balanced sweetness. 10/10 Brigadeiro (dessert) taken to go. Small but tasted as expected. 7/10 Pricing is mid range and actually lower than expected overall though drinks can push the bill up quickly. Overall, great vibes and a very enjoyable experience. Best suited for dates, special occasions, or family outings. I would definitely come back, especially to try more appetizers, different pizza options, the Strogonoff de Frango again and try some new dishes. 4.5 / 5 rounded up!

Luckily, they were able to seat me anyway. This is a casual restaurant with a full bar. I was going to eat 4 times today, and needed to pick something light, but ended up with the escondidinho de carne, a shepherds pie like dish, chicken skewers and a dragonfruit caparinha. Cocktail- served in a lowball and looked great upon presentation. This tasted pretty good, but ended up being so small with a lot of ice, unfortunately. Skewers - these were pretty good with a nice grilled flavor. I loved the texture. Escondidinho de carne - this is a really good dish with ground beef that doesn't have many veggies like the Irish version, but still very good. The visit was not without a miscues though. I asked the waitress for an extra plate when she brought the entree out, but she never returned. Then, at the end, I finished my meal and nobody was coming to my table to give me my ticket. I had other places to be so I had to walk to the register and ask for my bill. Another person at the bar, who I had never seen come to my table, prepared the bill so I could pay. This was a little bit awkward and just seemed like the employees were flustered due to the holiday or something and just forgot about me entirely. If I ever return, I will have to come back and try the steak on my next visit. It looked really good!

I highly recommend this place for a Brazilian restaurant! We came here for a birthday celebration…read moreand they made sure it was a great experience! I am craving it days later and have recommended it to everyone I know! The ambiance was wonderful and it was really clean! The staff were so friendly and helpful and since I made a reservation, we were seated right away! They had a salad bar and let us know we could go anytime. They started us out with these amazing cheese rolls that I want all the time! I love them and will come back and be sure to order multiple orders of them! The picana was tender as were all the other meats! It was $70 pp and we added cheesecake for a birthday! We also got drinks which made the dinner that much more divine! A+ we will be returning and I am sad I didn't take pictures because I starved myself the whole day due to anticipating this dinner!

It's a medium-sized venue, and there is a private room for small parties. I enjoyed being there, and I would recommend it for families, couples, or colleagues. With an open dining room, people-watching was also fun. I mean...the service is about as good as you can get anywhere! The staff is friendly, attentive, and personable (even willing to joke around). My favorite is the lamb, so they joked with me a bit. The Lamb Chops were better (that is gamier) than the Leg of Lamb. My wife doesn't care for the lamb, but she likes the other meat offerings plenty. When we asked for specific meats...they would bring them. Competitors' staff say they will bring something, but Bitelo's staff actually delivers! My only feedback is that they didn't proactively offer to change out my dirty plate (which was quickly being overrun by lamb shop bones). Let's talk about the salad bar (which we always enjoy at a Brazilian Steakhouse). While others host larger selections, Bitelo hits all the high notes, and fewer offerings actually make it more perfect for us. The bite-sized cheese breads are AMAZING, however, I do prefer the Polenta that other places will serve over the mashed potatoes. Highly recommended!
