Fried plantains topped with guacamole with pork belly
    Josh P.

We stopped by a few Saturdays ago in the evening and there was no wait. We got the empananas, the fried plantains, and cheesecake. The empanadas were probably my favorite but the other two were pretty good as well. The fried plantains were topped with guacamole and we added pork belly.

I was really looking forward to some good empanadas. We have a few plans in Houston that serve empanadas well, these empanadas were not what I am used to. They were too crispy, too greasy and the filling tasted old and dry. So you walk up scan the menu place order on your phone, pay online and then wait for text to go pick up your food. The service was ok, as I get it it was a HOT Sunday in Austin but I will not return to this food truck as Austin has too many food trucks to return to an average food truck.

The plantains with guac and pork belly are delicious. Food is fresh. The staff is friendly. Food truck conveniently located at Fierce Whiskers Distillery where there is a ton of green space to enjoy your meal.

Friendly staff. Amazing food. I've had the beef empanadas and the vegetarian option and they're both delicious. Food is fresh and owners are awesome!

Beef empanadas, yucca fries and fried plantains with guacamole and added fried pork belly. :-)

OMG! The food here was SO DELICIOUS!!! My husband and I got the beef AND vegetable empanadas, the yucca fries, the fried plantains with guacamole and we added the fried pork belly. For dessert we tried the passion fruit almond cake. Everything was so SO GOOD. The owners, Carolina and Josh were very friendly and down to earth. Super nice folks. And definitely try the coffee too! It's so rich. We got a traditional cold Colombian Coffee drink that has lemon in it. Similar to an Arnold Palmer but coffee instead of tea! Very refreshing! I also got a cold brew to drink tomorrow morning. XD Thank you so much for the great food! :-) I will definitely be making a trip back here.

These are the best empanadas I've had outside of Colombia. The owners, Carolina & Josh are super kind and you can tell they put a lot of care into the food. Just as a bonus, everything is gluten free on the menu which is SUPER awesome for the celiac's out there- though you'd never be able to tell. I thoroughly enjoyed their coffee selection - especially the Cafe Limonada as it's super refreshing on a hot day and is a nice break from the traditional iced coffee options you see. Highly recommend!

The interior was cozy and stylish, a nice mix between a restaurant and cafe in the absolute best way possible. The staff were super friendly, they took the time to chat and gave me some great recommendations. I went with the spicy brisket and park, both were phenomenal. The flavor was super rich and savory with just enough spice to have a kick without being overpowering. The dough was thin, flakey, and golden. It was perfect! I grew up only eating Puerto Rican empanadas so I wasn't sure what to expect but this place blew me away. Amazing food, great vibes and kind people. An absolute 5/5 that I'll definitely be back to.

Little Patagonia has their own parking lot (which is rare downtown), plus a nice outdoor patio. The food was great, service was quick and was an easy process considering it was a packed event. Highly recommend the brisket empanadas, so flavorful and delicious! The chicken ones were packed with flavor too. My boyfriend had the bacon, egg, and cheese empanada and said it was tasty, though he wished there was a bit more bacon. Overall, a cool spot to bring someone who's visiting Austin or if you just want to try something different. Will definitely be back to try out more foods and the wines!

They're $8 each which is a little pricey but not unreasonable in this economy. $6 would have been right. Maybe $7 bc Farmers Market. $8 is high for the size. I got the BBQ Brisket, Conquistador (diced beef), Peruvian (Aji de Gallina) and al pastor (pork w pineapple). The name Yapa has a meaning (you can rea the sign yourself) and when I asked about it they said the chimichurri that already came with it was that. Lame. Don't name yourself after a gift and don't give one. Or don't say the sauce is included. Brisket was good. Sweet. Gouda would have been nice in it. 7.5/10 Conquistador (diced beef) was also good. This is the traditional stuffing for a papa rellena. Very tasty but could have used a salsa criolla instead of the chimichurri. 8/10 The Al pastor was fine, but didn't taste at all like Al pastor. Zero pineapple flavor. 4/10 Haven't tried the Aji de Gallina yet. Will update when I do. The chimichurri was tasty but HOT. I like spicy - this was hot so proceed with caution. The dough was a little thick for my liking, especially around the sides Overall it was okay. I spent $50 on 6. Would probably go back and get the BBQ one for walking around the market. The Conquistador is better as potato stuffing and the Al Pastor was just a miss. Offering alfajores as a yapa would be a nice touch

Have you had Yapa empanadas? Holy poo they're amazing…read more They're everywhere, food trucks, different farmer markets, etc. You can buy them frozen and take home to make. That's just grand! Did you know they also do catering? I need to host a blowout event of some kind to get these glorious empanadas catered. For now, I'm happy knowing I've got a bag in my freezer. The Come y Calla brisket empanada is a real flavor punch to the mouth. Yes, siree. I'll take chicken empanadas, brekkie empanadas, and the spinach cheese ones all day, everyday. You heard me. Everyday. They also sell chimichurri sauce jarred and no home kitchen is complete without it. That sauce is so good I just wanna inhale it all right down. Pros: -Super cute interior and welcoming outside patio with vibrant art. -Nice parking lot and heart-shaped bike stands -Good Wi-Fi Neutral: -The language barrier is pretty rough. Almost every word I said was misinterpreted - which I can't really knock a place for, but my order came out incorrect. -Not much A/C circulating inside. It's not uncomfortable per say, but your face does get sweaty inside. Cons: -The staff do have a very "can't be bothered" attitude, which doesn't actually bother me too much. Maybe they would have given more attention if I spoke Spanish, lol. -I wanted to try one of the Pandebono or Pandeyuca but they were out of both :( and most of the other pastries, as it seemed. -The chicken empañadas ($6 for 2) were pretty tasty and filling, but were swimming in a puddle of grease. Overall, this spot has potential with a few tweaks, but I'm not sure I'd come back.

The dough was soft and a little flakey, the filings were so well seasoned. We had Carne Suave and Lenleja. Followed by assortment of the three sausages and breads. Our favorite was Salchicha Rarrillera! Then we had Cesar salad and chefs cut of beef at medium rare and grilled chicken. We definitely had to take some stuff home because we were stuffed. Then we were treated for a desert (it was our anniversary!) I LOVE tres leches and....guess what...? They have Quatro Leches !!!! This one of the best ones I've had so far: not too sweet, be very delicate and fluffy texture, just right! Our server recommended to try Malbec and I went with Luca. It was a good full bodied and rich pour I will happily order again! It was pretty slow at the time we went in, so we enjoyed a quiet brunch. Actually enjoyed, it was peaceful!
