Morcilla con Yuca y Criolla

Went to my first colombian restaurant in Austin and let me tell you it did not disappoint. As someone who grew up in Colombia my brother and I shared our favorite traditional foods from there. The blood sausage was delicious it had the right crisp and paired with yuca made the combination melt in your mouth. The Bandeja Paisa is the perfect size for one hungry person to devour but if you're looking to try a variety then you can definitely share it. Will definitely be back when I'm missing home!

Solid Colombian food with decent portions and well poured drinks! Everything about this place feels like you're in someone's home. Service is a bit slow because they're always very busy when I go, but the orders are always accurate and the food and drinks come out fast considering how many people are there! Is it the best Colombian I've had? Not even close but this place is an Austin 5/5.

There are only a handful of places you can get some authentic Colombian food and I'm glad my wife knew about this one. I'm glad we sat down to eat it too because the atmosphere was kind of different even though it was just us and another couple people are in the restaurant. You gotta get one of the coffees, then you gotta get something with plantain in it, that's all I gotta say. But honestly, you'll be happy with whatever you get.

Food was amazing. Service was very attentative. Sat on the patio and was pleasant. Will visit again when in town.

Wow...the portions are huge! We literally got four meals out of mine. And, as you can probably guess from one of the pictures, our sweet boy Benji had some nibbles too. I had steak and it was well-seasoned and properly cooked. The patacones rellenos were so good, I probably could have eaten like ten of them and been happy. Haha. Truth. My boyfriend got the bandeja paisa tipica that was like a literal smorgasbord on a plate. It had beans, beef, pork, egg, and all kinds of other stuff. My entree was as I mentioned, steak, with mashed potatoes, green beans, and fries. It was nice being able to enjoy truly authentic flavors. Great service. Nice outdoor seating.

If you're looking for authentic Colombian food that feels like home, this is the place. I was born and raised in Queens, New York, and have been searching for Colombian food that brings back the flavors I grew up with--this spot delivered exactly that. The food was incredible and reminded me of meals from my childhood. We started with the arepas con queso and Colombian chorizo--simple, classic, and full of flavor. My husband ordered the bandeja paisa, and I had the tamal valluno--both were comforting, hearty dishes with generous portions. We even had leftovers to take home! We also grabbed a pan de bono to go, which was perfect with coffee later. The drinks were just as impressive. We ordered the mango colada and maracuyá mojito--both were made right in front of us and were super refreshing. Service was excellent. Our bartender, Daniel, was friendly and made great drinks. Stefany F., our server, was so kind and patient--she really made us feel welcome. The restaurant has a spacious layout with plenty of seating in the back and some cozy spots near the bar. It's a great place for lunch, dinner, or a family outing. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for delicious, authentic Colombian food with great service.

Amazing Colombian food in Austin! I started with their Colombian martini. There are several flavors to choose from, and I went with mango. It's made with 2.5 oz of the rum of your choice, 1.5 oz Triple Sec, 2.5 oz sweet and sour, 0.75 oz agave, 3 oz tropical pulp, and finished with a splash of Sprite. Super refreshing and perfectly balanced. For an appetizer, my friend and I shared their beef and potato empanada -- a fried cornmeal patty stuffed with seasoned filling. I'm used to Argentine empanadas, so I found the ratio of cornmeal to filling heavier than I prefer (more cornmeal than filling) but the flavor was still great and it came out nice and crispy. For my main, I had the churrasco -- grilled top sirloin marinated in chimichurri sauce, served with green beans, fried yuca, mashed potatoes, and a ramekin of chimichurri on the side. It was a ton of food and absolutely delicious.

Authentic Colombian Cuisine :) We ordered the House Special ($22.99, Bandeja Paisa Típica), which comes with a variety of components: rice, beans, pork rind, sirloin, egg, avocado, corn patty, and both sweet and savory plantains. It was a generous portion of food, and each component was delicious and delightful. Our waitress did not speak English, but she was prompt and friendly. The interior makes you feel as though you've been transported to another country.

I love Mexican cuisine but it was so great to find more Latin flavors! Enjoyed a Cuban favorite (ropa vieja). The space was clean and had some cute wall decoration and our waiter was attentive.

Family owned Colombian restaurant, staff are super friendly especially if you sit at the bars. The bartenders Daniel and Paola are fun to talk to and they make solid drinks, they recommended the Colombian Martini which did not disappoint! The passionfruit and guava flavors in the drinks are fresh fruit/pulp. I've had a few items here: bistec criolla, pechuga de pollo, and pabellon. All were very delicious and depends what type of meet and flavors you're craving. The food comes out quick and good portion sizes, have never left hungry. Recommend if you're craving Colombian or Latin food!

We had excellent service. Great family or group ambience. I went with my two friends. We shared appetizers. The ceviche was delicious and the empanadas were one of the favorites. We also tried the cheese bread so good!

Pechuga de Pollo Empanizada
Johnathan T.

service was okay, prices seem reasonable for Austin. i got the pechuga de Pollo Empanizada and i would not recommend the chicken was v dry and tough and the fried batter came apart really easily and wasn't crispy. the fried were ok and the plantains had no flavor. i did get to try some other options tho and they tasted pretty good especially the pechuga rellano.

Empanadas! Very flavorful!!

The food and service was absolutely fantastic! It is a quaint restaurant with outdoor dining as well. The food is completely legit!

I ordered the sancocho and the flavor was just... off. There was a weird taste in the soup that didn't remind me of sancocho... What really threw me was the chicken. It came with just one drumstick, and it was so hard and rubbery that it wasn't even edible. No flavor, no tenderness--nothing. My grandma makes this dish at home with so much love, so I was hoping for at least a little of that here, but sadly it missed the mark completely. I even tried to make it good with some lime etc and I just had to throw it away it was not what I was expecting at all. Maybe I just ordered on a bad day, but based on this dish alone, I don't think I'd order it again.

A very cool place. *…read more* * Four Points has developed multiple food court locations around the intersection of 620 and 2222. One of them is the heavily Colombian food court where Ninja Chicken is located. One Colombian group seems to own multiple food trucks in the court - even though the truck names are different and the menus are different. Cooks go back and forth between the related trucks bringing supplies. All of the relevant personnel are Colombian. If they are as good as Ninja Chicken, they are fine fine trucks. * * * How Colombian is Colombian here? a) This is a Spanish only location. The truck signs are in English and that is where the English stops. When I ordered in English, it was clear nobody was understanding me. (They were trying hard). I got the wrong thing. Fortunately the wrong thing was wonderful. (Fried cheese pastries with strawberry dip.) I was happy to have the pastries. b) There are many many Colombians here eating. I only saw one other Anglo person - a middleaged Texas lady linked to the relevant church. (More on the church later). c) ON SATURDAY AFTERNOONS, THERE IS A COLOMBIAN BAND PLAYING TROPICALE. Keep in mind that food trucks in South America often come with entertainment. Entertainment is often a guy with an electric console and a ton of loops playing whatever instruments he knows how to play with synthesized backup. That's what this guy was doing. He was good on all of his instruments. I could have listened all day. d) Some of the trucks are associated with El Camino, a Spanish language church on 620. There was a giant pavilion with El Camino signs on the pavilion. There were people wearing El Camino badges in case you wanted to have a dedicated conversation about Christianity. Most of the El Camino people were Colombians. They had an Anglo lady in reserve in case you needed to talk about Christianity in English. El Camino has a very cool slogan " The perfect church for imperfect people." That slogan is right up there on the truck. * * * Good Colombian food. Good Colombian music. Colombian families everywhere. This could have been Queens New York - the epicenter of American Colombian food. Except everything else was Texan. Check the place out. Bring your Spanish dictionary to help with the ordering.
