Go for the food, not for the atmosphere, though everyone is friendly and definitely make you feel welcome. It's a little shop that serves as a restaurant and a shop where items from Colombia can be purchased. This is a place you will want to come to multiple times because you can only eat so much in one sitting! I really wanted to love Sable Columbia, especially because sancocho is one of my comfort foods. Unfortunately, my experience was super disappointing. I ordered the sancocho and the flavor was just... off. There was a weird taste in the soup that didn't remind me of sancocho... What really threw me was the chicken. It came with just one drumstick, and it was so hard and rubbery that it wasn't even edible. No flavor, no tenderness--nothing. My grandma makes this dish at home with so much love, so I was hoping for at least a little of that here, but sadly it missed the mark completely. I even tried to make it good with some lime etc and I just had to throw it away it was not what I was expecting at all. When I find myself craving Colombian food but am not willing to drive all the way to East Austin for my fix, this is the most practical local option. Plates are SMALL for the price, but taste pretty good! I am especially a fan of their bandeja paisa (just wish the egg wasn't so overdone) and batidos. A third of the restaurant's dining room space is a specialty mini market, too! Takeout is ready fairly quickly, normally within 10-12 minutes of placing the phone order. read more

Came here during lunch hour and it was great. The waitress was friendly and very attentive to us and all the other tables. Mind you, she was the only one serving tables at that time so kudos to her. I got sancocho de gallina, chicken and beef empanadas, deditos de queso and a maracuyá with water drink. Everything (for me) was delicious, including their sauces. My Colombian brother-in-law took us here this past Thursday, June 6. We went for an early dinner, 7 pm and when we walked in the AC was out. OMG it was hot in the restaurant. Now this is a very unassuming place located in a strip center surrounded by other food places. Why management couldn't (at least) add box fans from Lowe's next door is beyond me. Never mind we were there (weathering the heat) to try the food. Say yes to a refreshing homemade Lemonade (lime) SO good. Not too sweet just the way I like it. I had the pork chuleta (large pork loin sliced & fried) so good with a little verde hot sauce on the side. Beans & rice & and salad, large portions for a great price. My son had a hamburger, large and cheesy, my husband had the Oxtail soup (yes even in the heat). There are options for everyone even the kiddos. No alcohol at this location which is why I'm giving them a four-star rating, that and NO AC!! It was so hot. There are also grocery items you can pick up, authentic Colombian treats and eats. The food is ok,but service, not so good. First we order mini empanadas and server just left the empanadas on our table with no plates, no ají, nothing else. She left to help other tables and didn't come back until we asked her to bring what we need. Later we order our main plate which mine was a bandeja paisa and the egg was so overdone. I told her very nicely about the egg and her response in a rude manner, was that I need it to tell her how I wanted the egg before I order and she just left. Also the meat was so bland and no flavor at all. I don even think they put any salt. I just didn't bother to tell her anything about it. I had to put a lot of ají on top of the meat to give it some flavor. The only good thing was the empanadas and their ají. My friend and I ordered both the chicken and beef empanadas. The menu has very authentic dishes, including arepas and fried fish. I'm looking forward to trying other items soon. I thought for the price it was probably three mini empanadas but it is one empanada and it is on the small side. They should explain this on their website, such as saying "each". Part of the main location in Round Rock, this one is fairly new and is just building up the menu. Still, has a welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. I wanted to try the ceviche Colombian-style... Definitely very Colombian style with the "salsa rosada" which goes great with tostones and yuca. Super tasty! However, I think the chicharron ceviche might go better with the sauce. Have to try and see. Always closing the meal with a coffee to see if they make it the right way, and yes, it was made properly. They have Oma coffee which is well known in Colombia and the taste is unbelievable. I'm glad they're opening up new places and bringing Colombian food to this part of Texas. There's so many misconceptions when it comes to south American flavors because with all due respect, it's not like "Mexican food" for the rest of the continent. I would like to see these locations bringing some more authentic dishes as it the case in Houston and perhaps including more bakery items. Kuddos to this business por opening up the second location.
