Our server was fast and friendly, we each had one drink and a large queso. Leading to the only really bad part, that was almost $50. Good thing we didn't eat anything, every time I think I may return here something reminds me why I don't. The place was fairly busy, we sat near a table with something like 10 older ladies who I guess meet for lunch about once a month, they were not quiet in their conversation. Food is bad Service is bad Ambience is bad I feel bad for the people staying at the Marriott across the parking lot who are visiting from out of state. Having a business meeting at Jardin Corona...the first time at this location.. We both decided to have the $10.99 lunch specials - 10 lunch specials to choose from. Both my colleague and I chose the beef taco, cheese enchiladas and queso option. It also came with a large soda with one refill. I would categorize this restaurant as a value restaurant. You receive ample food and drink what you paid. The restaurant has a casual feel with Mexican music playing in the background. It reminded of growing up in San Antonio. Ya.... No. A friend hyped this place up and so we finally got take out and was thoroughly disappointed. While the portion size is good most of the food was pretty lackluster. Starting with the chips and salsa, the red salsa is actually pretty spicy, which I appreciate but I do not enjoy chips that taste like burnt fryer oil. It's nice to make chips fresh but change the oil please. As for the mains, got their fajitas but the steak was rubbery and tough, seasoning was very light and the tortillas were falling apart. I have tried different Mexican restaurants in my part of town but I think Jardin Corona easily comes out the winner in my book! This afternoon was my second time visiting after the first experience involved eating there for my birthday last month. Laura was one of the best servers I had at any place since she was welcoming and provided quick service with frequent visits. It was wonderful she recommended my choices of the Enchiladas Trio and churros with ice cream and coffee for dessert to other customers as well! The enchiladas rival the ones served by my favorite Mexican place in my hometown and the dessert looked like something served at a resort in Cancun. It is also easy to park here and get a table with plenty of space. They offer take-outs which I haven't seen at similar restaurants of this quality. Salsa! So good! The salsa is made fresh everyday by someone who has worked there for 20 years; she has no set recipe. This salsa is made from years of perfection: a pinch of this and dash of that. Oh my gosh, it's good! The shrimp taco came with seasoned, grilled shrimp, fresh cabbage, cilantro, and a spicy sauce. Delicious! I'm definitely returning for one of those. The shredded chicken taco, however, came with flavorless chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. Thankfully the awesome salsa helped give that taco some flavor. But why was the chicken flavorless? The chalupas compuestas were larger than expected. They were piled with chicken and fresh vegetables. The guacamole was generous in relationship to the size of each chalupa. But sadly, the same flavorless shredded chicken was served here too. Overall, the presentation was fine, and the amount of food was generous. But the sad chicken was a great disappointment. I'll be back to try something that doesn't have chicken simply because I did like the shrimp taco and the salsa is primo. But I hope they read this and realize the bland chicken needs to be improved. read more

This place has consistently amazing customer service. My husband absolutely loves Jardin Corona, and we've been to more than one location, and the service really stands out here. It's a chain but it feels like a small family restaurant , and we love that. Is the food the best Tex Mex in Austin? No, but the service is consistently above and beyond, which makes coming here a regular joy for us. Mexican martini is delicious, and the pechuga was stuffed, juicy and flavorful as it should be. I have nothing bad to say. One funny thing happened while we were there -- one of the neon signs above our table let out a hiss and some smoke, but our server immediately came over to check on it and take care of us (we were not negatively impacted in any way). I had never been to this restaurant before and wanted to try the soft serve margarita that had popped up on my TikTok. Normally I don't go for viral foods or Instagram restaurants, but that didn't seem like this place's vibe, so I was hoping it would be good. I got the strawberry soft serve margarita, and I really couldn't tell you that it was a margarita. No lime flavor, and I couldn't pick up on any tequila. It tasted exactly like a grade school strawberry milk. Might be intentional, but it wasn't for me. It wasn't written on the menu, so maybe I just had a different idea in my heaof what I was going to get. We were seated on the patio and had pretty sparse service. They may have just been busy, because it did seem like they had a lot of folks coming in for the margaritas. Our waters were brought out in styrofoam cups because they were running low on glasses. No issue from me there, just a testament to how busy they were. My partner and I split queso and chicken fajitas. The fajitas were not sizzling when they arrived, which was disappointing. We noticed staff asking around on the patio, seemingly unsure where our fajitas were supposed to go, so they may have lost some heat in transit, but they were very lukewarm, in a way that I thought maybe they had been sitting longer. There were also very few peppers (maybe two). The setups were generous, with a good scoop of guac and sour cream on each. The tortillas tasted store bought. I'm not sure if this was an off night due to high demand or if it reflects the standard experience. We waited about 20 minutes between asking for the check and being able to leave. While waiting, we noticed another table's fajitas come out sizzling, so it seems possible with better timing. I do want to note that we are visibly queer, and my partner was wearing a shirt with a pride flag. Our waitress consistently seemed like she wanted to leave our table as quickly as possible and appeared uncomfortable talking to us. I'm not certain these things are connected to the service issues we experienced, but the pattern was noticeable enough that I felt it was worth mentioning. I don't think that we will be coming back, but I wish you the best and hope that these were just growing pains/a hard weekend, and that I am reading too much into the waitress's behavior. read more

The restaurant was loud, but not uninviting. I'm guessing that they do a lot of their sales via alcohol. The food, honestly, wasn't very appealing. Nachos for the appetizer. They weren't horrible, just lacking in any real flavor which was meh. Even the chorizo was light on flavor. The quality was not great of any of the ingredients, as were the quantity. The cheese enchiladas were kinda on par with the nachos, meh. It seemed like American cheese was a base for a lot of their queso. Not an ingredient, but the theme of the flavor. Rice was boring and the beans were hiding behind salt, flavor wise. The waitress was ok. We saw her three times. Order, deliver food, check/pay. Water glass was empty most of my meal. We've been steady customers, but after last night, never again. My husband stopped at Corona on his way home from work (a 40-minute drive) to pick up dinner. When we got home, part of the order was wrong. We called right away, and instead of offering to fix their mistake, they told us we'd have to drive back, which makes zero sense since it was already late and my husband had just gotten home. They didn't care that my son didn't have his dinner and simply refunded the one wrong meal. That completely defeated the purpose of picking up dinner in the first place, and the attitude from the woman on the phone was rude and dismissive. It's disappointing to see how little they care about customer service. Hope the $25 profit was worth losing regular customers, because we'll never go back. read more

This is about an interaction with one of the employees that I believe to have been racist. I am not one to complain about service, and I don't want any money back, I do however want people to be aware of when an employee acts inappropriately. I went to the location on 183 to try the soft serve margaritas yesterday for Cinco De Mayo. I was there and got seated around 6:30pm. Obviously, it was busy and that is not the problem. My waitress was nice as was the hostess, but the woman who showed us to the table was not. I did not get her name as she wasn't wearing a name tag. She had brown hair in a pony tail and was wearing glasses. I was at the restaurant with my sister and my best friend. My best friend is black. Me and my sister are white. When our table was ready we came up to the host stand to get seated, my friend who is black was at the front. She's also the tallest and the most outgoing so she went up to them to tell them that we got our text. The girl who sat us looked right at her did not do anything, but kept looking at her, then after a few minutes, looked around her to look at me and ask if we were ready. I said yes, she then looked around my friend again to ask for the name instead of asking my friend. I answered, then she looked at all three of us and then said "for 2 right?" purposely ignoring my friend. My friend didn't want to say anything and she shouldn't have to. yesterday, Jan 19, 26, i ordered Jardin Supreme Platter. The food was mediocre. The taco meat and chalupa had no flavor. The plate reminded me of food slop fed to pigs. The food was piled and looked/tasted as if had been sitting a long period, was not fresh. Several times I've noticed food is without normal mexican flavors made in large quantities, sitting for long hours, and watered down to feed large crowds. Was disappointed. When they were smaller their food tasted like real flavorful Mexican cuisine, no longer. They cater to people who don't know good Mexican cuisine. read more

I'm shocked at the bad reviews for this place. Visiting from Houston, my boyfriend and I decided to eat here for dinner on a Friday night. Showed up around 5:30 PM and there was already a lively crowd dining in making the place full of good energy and ambience. A comfortable sized bar area with plenty of tv's and dining around it. A patio too, if that's your vibe. We did accidentally walk in through the wrong entrance, and at least 4-5 friendly staff asked us if we needed help within probably a minute and a half. You could tell their service was on top of it literally from the moment we walked in. They found us a booth pretty quickly and got us seated, then quickly got our drink order, quickly brought chips and salsa, quickly got the drinks to the table. The entire staff team was like a well oiled machine with perfect cadence; not too slow, and not at all rushed. Just right. We ordered a small queso to start and were pleasantly surprised how big it was. We literally said out loud "if this is the small, what is the large?!" So that was nice. Then the menu was fantastic, so many options for dinner. I personally always order combos and they had THE best combination plate options in my opinion, mainly because beef fajita tacos were included in a lot of them which I don't see often at Mexican restaurants. The food came out fresh and in good timeframe, and was soooo yummy!! I got a flauta, cheese enchilada, and beef fajita taco combo plate. My boyfriend got the bacon wrapped shrimp plate. We both genuinely enjoyed our plates and agreed we would easily eat here again. I'm picky with my cheese enchiladas too, and this place does it right for me! It makes sense why the restaurant was filled with people enjoying their time there, because it's simply an enjoyable place to have dinner. Our waitress was kind and attentive and the food was great. Like coming to this restaurant. Have been coming here for years. I've had quite a few things on the menu and have never been disappointed. I love their chips and salsa. Whenever I come in the waitresses and waiters have been very helpful. This has been a great place to eat. I had the waiter tell me the tortillas are homemade, although I do have my doubts. I think they're more along the lines of premade and reheated because they're not that great when you stack them up against true homemade tortillas. I like to get any of the polio dishes. And when I really want something spicy, I get fajitas à la Mexicana. All the dishes come with plenty of food, the atmosphere is nice, and there is patio seating on the side of the building if you prefer to eat outside. read more

It has the feel of a neighborhood facility that is welcoming and serves delicious food with friendly staff and fast service. It is set back from the main road with adequate close parking. Try it. Good food, good prices. I am a Texan by birth. I believe all Texans need to love and appreciate Mexican food. We used to go to Ponchos in Dallas when I was a wee little one, as a family, and eat almost every Sunday. My expectations of Mexican food are based on that. It needs to taste good, not too spicy, not too bland, and fill you up enough that you probably need a nap afterwards. Jardin Corona delivered. I ordered my "go to" favorite dish, enchiladas verde. The chicken was above average. Sometimes, chicken in this dish has the consistency of canned tuna and I literally hate that. Not so here! It was freshly shredded and flavorful. Chips and salsa were very good. Our terrific waitress, Cindy, even offered to bring us a spicy salsa if we preferred it. My guy likes it hot ( like his women ;-) ). The spicy stuff could be sold as OTC sinus medication- hot hot and clears your head! Tea was on point also. I need brewed tea, never instant. I also ask for half sweet, half unsweetened- it was perfect. The only negative for me is the atmosphere. Not great, but Jardin Corona took over an old sports bar space. So it is what it is.
