The Four Brothers location inside the Fareground food is fantastic. I ordered the steak fajita arepa and honestly couldn't get over how much I loved it. The steak was super tender, and the arepa itself was perfectly crispy on the outside but warm and soft inside. It was incredibly flavorful. This place is in the downtown Austin Fareground and is such a hidden gem. I wasn't expecting to stumble across this spot, but I'm so glad we did. The service was incredibly kind from the moment we walked up, and the seating area was spacious, clean, and warm. Perfect vibes on a cool day and plenty of room for the whole family. Now the food. . . Everything was amazing. We ordered the mini arepas, pabellón, beef fajita, the 4 quesos, and the cachapa with shredded chicken. Cinco estrellas, sin duda. The flavors were unreal, the presentation was beautiful, and the dressings they use take everything up a notch. We also grabbed a side of black beans and white rice, and it was more than enough food to feed all five of us. I've been thinking about this meal since we left. Delicious, unique option currently in the Fairgrounds food court downtown. Ordered the Four Brothers Arepas with shredded chicken, which was hearty and bursting with flavor we also ordered the Chicken Avocado Salad Arepas which was incredibly fresh tasting and personally my favorite. The service was pretty slow, about 20 minutes wait for 2 small items. There were a few people in line before us, but all smaller orders too, but at least it was fresh then. Prices are typical for Austin, food was great but truly small portions for the price. read more

I wish I had seen Four Brothers before I made my final choice for food (even though my choice was delicious), but had I seen it first I would have gotten ALL the arepas. Since I had already gotten my meal but craved a small carb loaded bite, I get their arepitas with chicken. First, the woman at the register was so friendly and kind. She congratulated me on completing my race which was lovely, and she put a smile on my face! Their menu is also SUPER gluten free friendly, so I was in heaven! The arepitas may take a little time, and while I wish there was a little more stuffing, oh my goodness I wish I had more room to eat more of these crunchy, sweet, perfectly fried arepitas! So delicious with an excellent sauce, crunchy, and I loved their masa. Why doesn't this have 5 stars!??? This meal was AMAZING. We got two of the chefs favorite arepas and it was so delicious!! I was a bit skeptical choosing arepas because at the last place I went to they were a little bland, but NOT here! Every bite was FULL OF FLAVOR. - The shredded chicken arepa came with cheese, sweet plantains, avocado sauce & garlic sauce. - The shredded beef "Pabellon" one came with beef, black beans, sweet plantains, queso frito, avocado sauce and garlic sauce. Both phenomenal. So juicy and everything came together perfectly! Love the plantains in them too, my favorite. My only suggestion is I would LOVE if their juices were fresh and I really wanted to try the passion fruit one (until I realized it wasn't fresh). I would go back here in a heartbeat. In fact craving it already! Can't wait to try more of their menu. Location in Fareground is great and they validate parking for 90 mins. read more

This place is inside a food hall that has other businesses surrounding. I got the chicken avocado salad arepas. It's not actually a salad. It just says that because of the ingredients that are in it. The service is quick and efficient and the ambience is really nice, clean, modern, with the acoustics of a food hall. The chicken avocado salad arepas was pretty good I would get it again. The chicken was shredded and tossed in the avocado, mayo sauce. The slice of avocado definitely helped make it a refreshing bite. read more

This was my first taste in Venezuelan food, and it was delicious!!! I got a vegan arepa with beans, avocado, and plantains that was called 'Vegana', and it was so good!! I highly recommend to any vegan friend! My friends are not vegan, and they got different arepas and also thought it was really good! It's not filling! I wouldn't consider this a meal. It's more like a snack, but it's walking distance from the park and river in downtown! I highly recommend. I only wish we got a bigger portion for the price! The juices were very good too! read more

I was trying something from each stall at Fareground on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. I ordered the Tequenos and enjoyed each bite. They have a great menu, but because I was pretty much trying each stall, I didn't want much. They were delicious and I'd definitely try other things on their menu. We first experienced Four Brothers Venezuelan through a catering order at our company that had recently got an office space above the fare ground location. First off, typically when we go out to eat we gravitate towards American food, so we didn't have much experience when it came to Venezuelan food and/or fully know what we were about to dig our teeth into. We've only had arepas once before Four Brothers at a place in Colorado, but we weren't blown away, so we were curious how we'd like the cuisine. The catering order was a build your own arepa's bar. They brought up the order right on time inside a warming cabinet so the food stayed hot and fresh and then displayed it out so you could walk the line creating an arepa of wonder and add the sides your heart desired! We were SO GLAD that we gave Venezuelan food in general another chance because daaammnnnn we didn't realize HOW good Venezuelan food could be when the restaurant you order from home makes the arepas, along with their sauces and meats. The arepas were the perfect size to utilize as either a sandwich or even an open faced sandwich, kinda like a tostada style! They were dense and thick so you could load them up with all the goodies! The catering order came with pulled pork (rumbera), catira (chicken), fresh arepas, some fluffy perfectly cooked basmati rice, fresh cabbage/spinach, sofrito black beans, plantains, yucca fries, queso fresco, Venezuelan cream (like a crema or sour cream), pico de gallo, and the most flavor sauces ever: avocado and a garlic sauce! Lets just start by saying we are MEAT lovers and while the meats were both super delicious, the black beans made us stop chewing to take a moment to appreciate how much flavor was packed in what we thought would be "just" a side dish. That was NOT the case! Those alone could be a standout main arepa topping! Even the plantains... WOW! In the past I've never been a plantain lover because I find them to be sopping in oil, soggy and underwhelming. Let's just say thanks to Four Brothers I've been converted! I loved them so much I'm wondering how I can eat plantains and sofrito black beans everyday! The plantains were soft yet dense, savory yet a mild sweetness that came though at the end. OOMMGG! Who knew?! The yucca fries were like the perfect French fry soft on the inside and a crispy outside. The sauces.... Wow.... The garlic sauce... reminded me of a cilantro garlic sauce, but way better!! It was sooo flavorful and creamy and while the garlic was there it didn't burn your tongue! I could drink it! We had taken some leftovers home and we didn't think the food would develop even more flavor the next day, especially the chicken! The air fryer was perfect to reheat the plantains and yucca fries and it was so wonderful even being able to create our own little bowls at the house... ummm they'd be great for meal prep for the week! Wink wink! Looking at their regular menu we know that we will HAVE TO experience them again! They have some crispy looking cheese and even mini arepa varieties which look incredible so you can feel responsible while also trying a variety! Four brothers completely changed our view on Venezuelan food! Seriously they are a flavor you will never forget and you might even become addicted to a new cuisine you never even thought about! You MUST try them, whether you visit one of their locations or get a catering order for your family or heck meal prep for the week! How can someone not know what food they ordered since we ordered three items. We had to wait another 20 mins. There were no apologies from the staff. I would show you food if I had any. Food: This was my first visit, but absolutely NOT the last. This is the only establishment that has added corn to cornbread in a way that is acceptable. I ordered the Cachapa Venezuelan Sweet Cornbread Cake and added Shredded Chicken. I also ordered a Mango Lemonade for the drink. As the name suggests, my Cachapa was more sweet than savory which is right up my alley. The flavor of the chicken went so well with the cornbread. The fried cheese inside is very thick, keeping it inside the Cachapa was a challenge. A challenge that I would take again! I loved it and it was huge so I had some the next day as well. Service + Location: Four Brothers is located inside the Fair Grounds building. There is parking attached to the building which any of the restaurants inside can validate with purchase, so don't forget to grab a receipt here. Customer service is excellent, and so is the mango juice. I could drinks gallons of it everyday. It tastes like real mangoes and not at all sweet. The arepas are hard and lack salt, but there is potential in the flavor. It's also really expensive (I usually pay that price for two).
