I've ordered from here many times befor but today I stopped in and ate "in house." When u walked in I wasn't greeted , after a couple minutes I decided I would go to the restroom and come back as there seemed to be one waitress who was busy, and no host. I came back and waited about a minutes before I was acknowledged, I was sat and the waitress was attentive. I wanted to try the arepita appetizer which is normally served with shredded beef/pork or chicken on the side- to get a side of plantains instead of meat, it was going to add 3$ to the 14$ appetizer so I just opted to omit the meat all together and still had to pay the $14 ...which I don't feel is appropriate- people always wanna add money to sub a veggie for meat but never reduce the price when just removing the meat all together. Anyways, Ordered my food which was out promptly, the veggie bowl was delicious as always and the arepita appetizer (no meat) was good- reminded me of a fried potatoe cake, I used the arepitas as a vessel for my veggie bowl ! I brought the remainder of my bowl home where I bit into something very hard , once pulling it out of my mouth I discovered some beef snuck it's way into my dish- disappointing forsure but it is the first time out of about 10 times this has happened here. Prices have gone up over the last few years my veggie bowl was 18$.

I've grabbed takeout from here several times before,m and I've eaten here once so far. I've only had their arepas, which are pretty well-packed. If ordering to go, they do have a ToastTab page, but you can also call it in. If dining in, they are the corner unit in the strip mall, next to Bayleaf. Seating is generally lacquered wooden tabletops and seating. Parking is plentiful. Their decor is visually interesting, with a world map on the wall near the hallway to the bathrooms, as well as a few floral elements. In the hallway leading to the bathroom are a few parrots clinging to some foliage on the wall. Their staff are friendly, attentive, and quite observant. As for food, I've had the following arepas: - The Vegetarian - Party Animal - Llanera - The Caribeña - The Pabellon Their arepas are well-stuffed. Their meats are juicy (especially the pulled or stewed meats) and well seasoned; their shrimp is crisp. If cheese is included, it's either the crumbly white cheese, which adds a nice savoriness, or the shredded cheddar, which is not very sharp. If you like cheese, you'll like these, since the cheese is added in large quantities. Their plantains are sweet and creamy. Some of their arepas contain black beans. I believe they offer the classic domino (black beans and cheese). When combined with other ingredients, the black beans do take a backseat to the other flavors. The arepa themselves are thick and hold together nicely. However, if you order a stewed juicy meat, then while you're eating, your arepa may eventually become slightly soggy as meat juice drips out. Finally, add-ons are offered, typically avocado, fried egg, or any of their ingredients. That said, you don't have to order arepas; they offer other ways of doing packaging their food, including bowl, plate, and alternative sandwich/wrap forms.

O M G!!!!! This food was so good. The chicken and steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Gotta go back again before we leave Round Rock. Service was awesome, very sweet and patient waitress that answered all our questions. Ambiance was nice. Normal Latin atmosphere; decor.

Surprisingly excellent Venezuelan cuisine in Round Rock. I had dinner here with a friend and we were quite pleased not only with the comprehensive menu but the attentive service and comfortable dining room as well. I really enjoyed how they handled cooking of proteins. I ordered the parrillita bowl which contains both steak and chicken, and these were cooked perfectly and were tender and juicy. You can order out if you like but I think you will be missing out if you don't come here to enjoy your food fresh from the kitchen. Highly recommended.

My go to caribeña, the shrimp grilled perfectly an absolutely must try for a seafood lover.

Must try place in North Austin !! They have the best arepas in the city ... I love their caribena which has perfectly done shrimp.

What a great place! Service was amazing. Food was fenomenal. So much more to try.... Starting with the aperizers, yuca frita and sweet plantains. Oh so good!!! Arepas are not created equal and venezuelan arepas are very special. You just have to try them. Arepas rellenas are an experience rather than just a dish. The ambiance of the place is so laid back and welcoming. My place to explore for a whole month until my palate is satisfied. Great find!!!

My first review! Only recently got my drivers license so now I can take myself and my sister to eat anywhere! My sister and I spontaneously decided to visit yesterday and our experience was pleasant and we'll visit again :) We came in at dinner time and it wasn't too crowded, it had a nice and casual atmosphere. I ordered the Llanera arepa and the steak was so tender and delicious. The avocado was complimented it so well. I think I'll order it again! As for my sister, she enjoyed her Papellon arepa well. She was barely able to finish it as it was so filling lol, since there was pulled pork, beans, cheese, plaintains... I took a bite of it and it was also really good! We ordered a cheese cachapa as well. It was taking a little while to come out but the manager was needlessly kind and accommodating; giving it at 50% off as there were apparently people in training in the kitchen! He even offered a free guava, vanilla ice cream dessert! We would've enjoyed our dinner even without dessert but it was a nice gesture nonetheless The cachapa was unexpectedly sweet but delicious as other reviews say, but we had to take it home as we didn't want our dessert to melt. We were so stuffed. We'll be visiting again and will probably order less lol!!

This was my 2nd time at Arepitas and as always it didn't disappoint. The food and drinks were amazing. The parrilitta bowl was mind blowing. I also has a virgin guarapita, it was amazing. The service was a little slow but our server was great and the food made up for it. Love this restaurant.

12:30 PM on a Friday and this place was nearly full! We quickly found out why there were so many people eating lunch on a weekday at this restaurant. The food is solidly delicious! We tried three entrees/sandwiches and one appetizer and were impressed by the quality and size of everything. My favorite was the Pepito (Mixed) but a close second was the Cachapas which was sweet and savory. We didn't love the chicken avocado salad in the Pimped out Queen and probably wouldn't get that one again but we're very excited to go back and try more of the Arepas and the bowls. The tequenos - cheese sticks were some of the best cheese sticks I've ever had. I could have just eaten those as my meal they were so good!

Needed a last minute lunch stop and Arepitas fit the bill! We stopped at an in between time (2 PM) which can be risky sometimes. This delicious Venezuelan food, was fun, fresh, and fantastic start to finish. Love the visual menus, I'm a visual learner and educator by trade so I love the ability to see what everything looks like before I order! We had a Bowl and an Arepita, both were ridiculously good. Layers of colors, flavors, and textures the combinations were perfection! My son ordered some fries which were hot and extra crispy. I'd recommend ordering a variety of the sauces. We loved the garlic and house special sauce the most! It's great drizzled or for dipping. Service with a smile and a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Got the Crazy Fries again!! So delicious. This time I got the meat combo. It's a really big portion but perfect if you are sharing. Chicken empanada is also good! The Guava Pie! Ice cream and guava syrup on top of a pie crust is perfection! The ice cream does overflow and melt so you gotta finish eating it quickly. It takes a really long time for the food to come out-about 20 min-but the food is so good that the wait time is negligible.

The food is very phenomenal here!! It was my first time eating Venezuelan food. Totally different experience from the traditional Tex-Mex and Mexican food restaurants around Texas. One nothing was spicy, the taste was a unique experience. So unique I want to go back to try the other entrees on the menu. I ordered the Parrillita from the crazy cravings and my wife ordered the LLanera from the arepas part of the menu. When they brought our food out, they were kind enough to tell my wife how to eat her dish properly. The portions of the food more than enough for two people honestly, but definitely order your own entree and share with your family or significant other. I ordered the top shelf margarita and had two of them I might say! They were so delicious and good they took the edge off for sure. The ambiance of this place looks very nice and upscale. It's definitely a place to go on a date or eat with your family. My only complaint about my experience here is here was how loud it was in here. They could definitely use a white noise system to help with the noise level. It was hard to hear our waiter and waitress a few times when we were ordering and when they were checking on us. They do accept contactless payment; however during my experience I had to use it at their front register. My waitress did say there experience issues with their ordering devices. Overall, my experience was phenomenal here and I recommend it to anyone wanting to try something new for food.

Please note that there is indoor and outdoor dining along with free parking. Fogonero is best known for its empanadas, arepas, and other traditional Venezuelan specialties.
