So if you want "as-close to Mexico without being there" go here. It's greasy. It's basic. It's rustic hole in the wall but it's also authentic, unpretentious and DELICIOUS. Come late, come buzzed. And get 3 deep fried tacos with a grilled jalapeño!

Their tacos are more like burritos! Everyone was so friendly! All the food was authentic and delicious!!! Definitely can't wait to go back!

We had a recommendation from our Uber driver to stop here for dinner, and we're so glad we did! Great Mexican food with good portions. Only watch-out is that our waitress didn't speak English, but luckily we had a member of our group who was fluent in Spanish. I had the pulled chicken tacos and they were delicious! Juicy and flavorful, while also being filling. Only thing is I wish it came with cheese, so you'll have to ask for it added if you want it. Service was quick and it was easy to pay up at the counter.

Awesomeness in classic Austin Tex-Mex! About as local as they come, places like this are dotted all over Austin, and you really should check them out. Excellent food, even more excellent tacos, and most excellent chips and salsa verde. Pretty much my go to for comfort food....

I wasn't expecting a mariachi duo to serenade me on a random Thursday lunch visit, but here I was, leaning back in my chair in between bites and enjoying the local entertainment. I'm not sure if this is a regular thing, but the duo was fun and I'm glad they stopped by. I liked the bottomless chips and salsa, especially the hot salsa. My chicken chimichanga served with a side of rice and refried beans was perfectly acceptable and quite filling. Please don't feel bad if you ask for a box to go. Service was quick, knowledgeable, polite and engaging.

VERY DISAPPOINTING! We used to go here all the time & the service and quality of food has really gone down hill :( After a bad experience a few months ago with the lack of customer service. We spoke to the store manager and resolved the issue that day. So we thought... Today we were craving tacos & thought we'd give this location another try. After looking at all the pictures we were ready for good food! Tacos!! NOPE! What we got were $20 worth of child-like-size tacos with barely anything on them, horrible, horrible, horrible. A total embarrassment why we even went there for a second try. Wasted our money & now have to go get more food somewhere else. Sad :(

Great little place to have a late night meal after some fun, or to pop in for a quick dinner with a friend. They serve breakfast as well, but I was coming in around 9 pm after a day of work. Not too many tables, but it is just the right size for a local Mexican food place. The staff is friendly and usually the food is super quick to come out. I had the carne plate with rice, refried beans, guacamole, and pico. The meat was amazing; they have it in this great sauce that adds a little extra flavor. The rice was good for mixing in with the meal, but I wouldn't recommend eating it alone. The refried beans were pretty delicious too, and the guacamole was great when mixed in with the rest of them to make makeshift tacos. I may try something else like the enchilada plates, or the burrito plate. Like I said they do serve breakfast as well, but come in early if you want to indulge. There's a menu for the kids, dessert, and other great dishes that sound delicious. Parking is available in the small lot out back; when finding this place be careful not to miss the turn or you'll have to loop back on Chavez in the busy traffic.

Food came out fast and it was pretty tasty. We were the only ones in the restaurant for awhile and I still had to go ask for refills. Oh and the salsa for the salsa and chips was very good. Overall the food was pretty good and service was ok.

They do have some parking available in the retail garage, it's a 3 hr limit but is otherwise free. My mom and I both had a cocktail called the "Ume Oro." I've had many interesting cocktails in my day but it's been a long time since I had a cocktail that truly surprised me - and this one did! I asked about a floral drink and they told me it's floral but not too sweet and that was exactly correct. The Chinese plum flavor with the ginger was a lovely combination, I can truly say I don't think I've had a drink like it and I love it when I can say that! We ordered the Fideos à la Cassola ($20) and shared it. Neither of us were very hungry and this dish was so tasty and rich that even half of it with the cocktail was plenty and we didn't need anything else to eat. The service is also phenomenal, our waitress was so sweet and at one point the manager came by and offered some Cava (like spanish prosecco) to our table and the table next to us. It is served by being poured directly from a very cool looking decanter, almost like a genie's lamp? He poured it directly into our mouths from arm height while we were sitting, it was such a fun thing to try! And on top of all this - the ambiance inside is lovely, it would be a great date spot. Bathrooms are immaculate too. I genuinely cannot rec this place higher, it's one of my favorites in Austin! I'll be back even just to have the Ume Oro again!

You'll see a video about the history then are told what cuts of meat were available for the day. Next you'll choose the cut of meat and then the size of the steak. I got the ribeye, along with the mushroom risotto. The steak was cooked to my preferred temp and the risotto was phenomenal. The potatoes that came along weren't crispy enough for me. Salad provided was also ok, but why waste space on that when you have steak! Overall the restaurant was nice and a change of pace. The vibe was low key and industrial yet refined as the decor was well balanced. I'd def recommend for a steak and unique experience.

I couldn't tell what the theme was. We were then taken to a back room where you choose your cut of beef after watching a brief video about their farm. While I appreciated being able to choose the specific cut of beef, I would've liked to see the scale up front to make sure the weight was correct since we were quoted by ounce. In addition, certain cuts had a huge amount of fat, about 20% of my steak was fat( not marbling). Unfortunately, for the price vs quality of the beef, I left disappointed. I requested medium for my steak and it came put med rare. Perhaps it was just my experience that night, my friend said she enjoyed her steak when she went and would come back. There is parking but it is shared with all the other businesses so you'll have to drive around to find a spot.

I love the industrial vibe of the place. It was a rainy Saturday and the place wasn't particularly busy, so the service was good! Our server was friendly and knowledgable about the menu, and the food, while small in portion size (they are tapas, after all) was delicious. We started with the tostadas de chorizo and the house sangria. Both were super tasty. Then we ordered the chistorra (Spanish sausage) and pan con tomate, and finally we shared the albondiga...a giant meatball that was perfection. Can't wait to go back to Boerne and have some more Spanish goodness!

Our friendly young male server suggested a new Portuguese beer that just came out. It comes in a 4-pack, 6.8 oz bottles with convenient pull-tabs & on a bucket of ice. We went for it! Not bitter, light bodied & easy to drink. We savored the ambiance in the outdoor patio as it FINALLY cooled down to the low 70s! We were given water in a carafe and 2 glasses. I'm sensitive to the taste of municipal tap water so I should've asked if it was filtered water? You'll have to ask for ice cubes if you want ice. Our tapas were the scallops ceviche tostadas(2 tortillas holding them) & a flatbread with Serrano jamon, sliced pears, melted brie, onions & drizzled balsamic glaze. Hubs liked it but I thought it was lukewarm & skimpy on the ham. The cheese wasn't gooey & cooled off. Was slightly gamey to me. He loved his scallop ceviche tostada. The restaurant wasn't very occupied but our server said it gets pretty packed in the evening esp. when there's live music. More people came in when we were almost finished eating. We ate outside because they must have just disinfected & mopped the floors because the inside had a super strong chemical smell. Lots of metal tables and chairs in the patio.
