    Ceviche tostada

Small very casual restaurant, food comes out super quick. Very reasonably priced. Got the beef and Al pastor tacos. Both good but the beef was better. Ordered a cheese quesadilla bc I couldn't decide on a meat to go in it. Who doesn't like melted cheese. Also got the ceviche tostada. I would probably order just the ceviche next time bc it has sour cream on the chip. My date got the enchiladas and the cheese and chicken were his favorites. He says to avoid the beef enchilada. Said it tasted like dog food. They had a few dessert options and Mexican candies at the register but we didn't order any

This is probably the oldest bookmark on my list, and we should have come sooner. Service was good, and we were both shocked on how small this place was, making parking a bit challenging to say the least...but a cool little joint...Queso, salsa and chips to start as usual...make sure to ask for the "hot" stuff and it is Fire and extremely addictive. Queso was on point with a couple shots of salsa....We always start with Enchiladas on our first visit and they hit the spot. Wife had the beef, with double rice...wifes had to a bit to much potato and carrots as a filler...although good we pay for the meat...this is super rare to find on our outings....wife wouldnt order these again, but would try other menu items...I always go with chicken and green sauce...they were loaded and delicious and we left with full bellies....planning a return trip to try the breakfast menu.

Beto's is the hole in the wall you've always been looking for. Great prices, fast service, without the crowds or the "too flashy instagram" feel. Most of the customers here speak Spanish, but you can also order in English since the waitresses are super nice (and usually know what you're ordering anyways). Don't try to get too fancy because the food here is great as-is. Food favorites are the chicken enchiladas and the carne asada (steak) tacos with guacamole. They start you off with chips and salsa, and the salsa is very good as well (with a little heat the more you eat). You pay at the counter after you are done with your meal. Again, not a fancy place (like if you order a soda, they give you the can & a cup of ice & no free refills), but it's one of my favorites in Austin for quick, delicious Mexican food.

Thought the food was fairly standard. Not great, but not bad. Came out quick and saw it was put in a microwave before it came to the table.

This is a wonderful, non-flashy Mexican restaurant we discovered after visiting a local wine bar. Decided to check it out. Walked in and there were no silly outfits or a hostess with a flower in her hair (like at major chain restaurants). Instead we had a very nice woman who took is to a booth. This is a genuine, plain, take a seat restaurant. We received chips and salsa and learned the green salsa is hotter than red--so we stuck with it. It had a solid degree for fire to please your tongue. We ordered the 5 mini tacos. They had great corn tortillas; the grilled bulbed onion was very tasty. Both al pastor and beef were seasoned well. Definitely recommend this meal. We also had the grilled chicken quesadilla. The tortilla was wonderful, but the cheese wasn't fully melted. The chicken was cooked well, but was plain tasting. The lettuce and pico on the side, however, was very fresh. But overall it was rather disappointing. Our entire experience was very good, so we plan on returning and trying other dishes.

Happy we came here while getting a tire patched next door at Leal's. It feels like old Austin and the food selection is great. Want delicious, satisfying Mexican food? Come here, you'll be so happy you did. Leaving the airport & starving for some great, quick, convenient Tex-mex? Come here! The service is quick and friendly. A serious locals spot.

I've driven by El Alma many times being in the Austin area, but I never went until last Thursday, and after surviving a brief monsoon, I was glad to get a few drinks and eat some good TexMex with my large party just before a wedding. The best way to describe El Alma is that it is TexMex that is Austinified. Everything feels a little more unique and special than your classic TexMex options. I started off with a Mezcal Margarita that put a little hair on my chest and got me going. My group ordered two of their Nachitos, which were these nice nachos. For my main entrée, I got 3 Al Pastor tacos on corn with a side of their rice and beans. Their pastor was served with pineapples, onions, and cilantro with limes on the side. They were great and I immediately crushed them all. I thought their rice and beans were pretty good as well and a step above the typical TexMex rice and beans. The server was pretty attentive throughout our whole visit, and I honestly have no complaints about what they had to offer. Pricing on the meal and drinks was pretty standard for Austin, and I didn't think anything really took me out of the experience. On top of that, for being in Barton Springs, there is quite a bit of parking. I would love to come back at some point in the future and hang out on their rooftop bar because that seems like a lot of fun. Shoutout to El Alma for being a TexMex oasis saving me from the MoPac traffic. RIYL: TexMex, but better than your average

So we were thinking of tacos or Mexican food and my daughter suggested this spot as she had come here with some friends and really enjoyed their sopecitos. I had never had a sopecito! What is that!
