He explained that he was solo today. I was given great service not too pushy but attentive. The souvlaki is on the menu. It arrives with raw onions with some sumac lighted sprinkled. Lamb skewers on a bed of lettuce. Some really tasty garlic yogurt sauce. The lamb well done lightly charred. The flavors were amazing they could have backed off and left a bit of pink inside but delicious. Somewhat still tender. The garlic sauce tasty I could not get enough. Pitas were fresh slightly toasted. A side of feta cheese which was a bit dry but still adding to the overall flavor. I finished with baklava, syrupy like I had in Istanbul at the deli. Only missing the Turkish coffee. A little grungy atmosphere which is typical for this part of town. Overall nice experience, food was really good.

That brings me to Pizzicato - and man, was I lucky! Late afternoon on a Sunday, after a day of traveling, and stuck at a hotel without a functioning restaurant . . . delivery pizza was just what the doctor ordered. And what a treat! I ordered a small pep, breadsticks (wondering why were they SOOOO freaking expensive, more on that below) and a small salad, and I have to say both the portions and quality below me out of the water. As a foodie and pizza guy (born in the Midwest, with deep Chicago and Detroit roots) this place HIT THE SPOT! Seattle pizza scene could learn a few things from these guys. The manager, Mickey Folgheraiter, was absolutely outstanding. He checked on us repeatedly while we waited, kept us updated, and continued to make sure we were taken care of throughout the entire dinner. His attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine concern for guests really stood out, especially on such a busy night. He's the kind of manager that makes you want to come back. Our chef, Alex, also deserves major credit. There were a few issues that were not his fault--some food came out incorrect or not quite enough at first--but he handled everything with grace and professionalism. He stayed upbeat, kept the experience enjoyable, and did an excellent job cooking and entertaining with what he was given. Busy nights happen, but great service makes all the difference. Thanks to Mickey and Alex, what could've been a frustrating evening turned into a very enjoyable one. We'll definitely be back.
