    Dirty Chicken Parmesan Hero $10.50
    Sean R.

Great NY Italian out of a truck here. They got some classics like carbonara and Chicken Parmigiana. I've tried the carbonara which is good and a great portion with a breadstick. I've had better carbonara before (I do think gumba's version is a bit tastier but not twice as tasty, and for half the price I've got no complaints.) The Dirty Chicken Parmesan Hero is amazing too. A very hefty slab of chicken with a scoop of spaghetti and marinara and some nice fluffy bread that holds up well to the sauce. This is what I believe Italian food should be: cheap and no frills instead of half the portion and double the price like many portland Italian spots. Although I do think it would be worth investing in slightly higher quality menu pics lol.

So, a few months into this coronavirus thing and not going to restaurants means ordering a significant amount of to-go orders ( I can and do cook, but I've been rather lazy, with exception to grilling out) and doing my best to support local businesses. I do third party food delivery, which has become more of a full-time job during the current times, but also because of this, I seem to know where pretty much every good food spot is in town and I've eaten at quite a few more that I'd never tried before, plus plenty of new ones to try. East coast Italian food isn't a huge thing here, not to say that if you don't look hard enough you'll find a few places around. There is amazing Italian food in PDX, mostly high end, but amazing. I grew up with pizza parlors also having a full Italian menu as well. Spaghettaboutit IS East coast Italian food. Origins from Long Island, NY via DC. Pasta, calzones, lasagna and subs, what more could you want. Oh yeah, cannoli. A chicken parm sub is what got me over here. Well, that and the fact that Yelp kept directing me over here. And that chicken parm did not disappoint. Crispy chicken, a nice red sauce with just a little sweetness and good spice and a fresh, sturdy roll to keep it all together. This version also had spaghetti in it, called a "dirty" version. It was a trip back to the pizza joints in my hometown. Take a trip up to the Piedmont food carts, it's worth the trip. Support local in PDX, it's so worth finding the next new place. Enjoy.

New food cart at Hillsboro Station food carts. This is some of the best italian food around. The owner was super friendly and the food was tastey. We will definately be back.

Best chicken parmesan and great price! The meatballs ate also solid and tasty. Oh, and I love the breadsticks (kinda like olive gardens but better). My only thing is more tasty marinara sauce with the delicious pieces of onion. I need to remember to order sauce on the side. Great find!!!

Finally got around to trying this place. Very happy withe the lasagna, good size and good quality and at a price that would beat any sit down place. Also tried the spaghetti which was also good but since it appears to be the same sauce used on lasagna I was not surprised. Items are cooked to order by the nice guy who owns the place. We look forward to coming back for the other menu items and support our local carts.

    Meatball spaghetti, my hunger

Hands down the best meatball spaghetti I've ever had. I've been eating spaghetti since I was about 5, it being my father's favorite food. I never saw the hype, I just ate it. TODAY EVERYTHING CHANGED. I'm also super stoked this place is "a taste of NY" as my heart has a deep soft spot for New York. I was disappointed that my plate didn't come with a salad as the menu showed. I was really craving that salad! I almost gave it four stars but the guy said he'd make it up to me and when I tasted that slightly spicy spaghetti, all my worries were forgotten. Perfect plate, cooked, temperature, ingredients, presentation-all was swell; I can't wait to take my dad here

"Dirty" (with pasta noodles) Meatball Sub
    McKena M.

Decided to get a smorgasbord of food from the Piedmont Food Carts and landed on trying Spaghettaboutit after looking at delicious pictures of their calzone, subs, and pasta on their food cart. My partner and I shared a dirty meatball sub and it was delicious. What makes it "dirty" you ask? Pasta noodles inside of the sub! Woah! The meatballs were very well seasoned and moist, and there was a generous amount of melted mozzarella that nicely coated the meatballs and pasta noodles. The side salad was also nice to break up the richness of the dish, and I liked that there was a good ratio of meat to sub with every bite. In line with our night of gluttony, we also ordered a sausage calzone after the guy helping us (I believe owner) told us that they were fresh out of the oven. I loved the softness of the dough and how flavorful the tomato sauce inside the calzone was. There was also a tasteful amount of sausage as for the dish to not be overly heavy. While our food came out quickly, we shared a peach cremosa (italian soda with whipped cream) to pass the time and it was refreshing! The guy who helped us was really friendly, and his passion for cooking was apparent. I'm definitely a fan!

The only caveat would be that I specially requested cheese on the side for a salad we ordered due to a couple of guests who had strict dairy allergies. It was the only salad at our buffet so we wanted it to be inclusive but with the choice for others to add cheese if they desired. So... while they did put mozzarella on the side, they still added Parmesan (or something that looked like Parmesan) to the salad. Then when I brought it up, the person delivering it tried to say it was okay to eat because it was just whey. Well - I did specially request cheese to be on the side. Dairy allergies are no joke and if they couldn't accommodate modifications, they could have just communicated that from the get-go. Other than that, they were pretty great about everything else. From setting up buffet tables to a nice tablecloth and warmers with servers. It made it easier for our group as a lot was going on. Edit on July 14: Owner responded and it was clearly a miscommunication. They thought I asked for mozzarella on the side but in my text messages, I see that I originally asked that if the salad came with any cheese, that it be on the side. But when confirming via text messages (at a busy time when they were moving from one location to another), my texts evolved from going from "any cheese on the side" to "cheese on the side" - which probably made them think I was ordering more/extra cheese on the side (?). I never specified what cheese to have on the side because I didn't actually know if the salad came with cheese in the first place let alone what kind. Either way, I'm glad they would be willing to accommodate a food restriction in the future.

We've tried a bunch of things from here like the korma, paneer tikka masala, samosas, pizza, etc. and you cannot go wrong here. I've had my order cancelled a couple of times through the apps but do not let that get you down if that happens to you. The woman who runs this cart works very hard to cook fresh food for each order and since it's so frigging delicious, often runs out of the popular dishes. I think the highlight of my latest visit was the kheer she gave me while waiting on the food and I've genuinely never tasted something this good at a restaurant. This was as close to home-cooked as it can be in terms of taste, consistency, quality and recipe. Visit this place, you'll not regret it.
