We heard through friends about this place that has long waits for well worth it burgers so I had to experience it myself. I called ahead and was quoted a pickup time. They told me to call back 40 minutes before to confirm it was on schedule. Just the phone call alone was a five star experience. Very helpful and effortlessly funny, I wanted to be friends! After hearing a lot of raving reviews, I finally stopped in to five Star. I got a classic cheeseburger and added grilled onion. The burger was good, nothing to write home about flavor-wise but definitely above average in fresh ingredients. I look forward to the "specialty" sauce that burger places often have and was disappointed to find out the only sauce they have here is ketchup. I've gone here a couple of times, and overall the experience was great. I typically order the kimchi burger which tastes great. The burger is juicy, flavorful, and taste fresh and homemade. It pairs well with the kimchi, and I believe there is a spicy mayo that they use on the burger which compliments the burger well. Orders typically comes with fries and the burger which range from $13-$18 range. It's a bit on the expensive side, but given the fact that they make the patties from scratch and fresh you can argue it's worth it. There tends to be a relatively long wait for orders, HOWEVER they make it very well known about this, and encourage you to call ahead. They have signs in the restaurant about this, and emphasizes how much they value yours and the businesses time as well, so I respect that. The staff members are very friendly and treat customers as if they are family. The store seems to be family owned, which gives it a very welcoming atmosphere. Is this something worth getting each week? For some people yes. But for me, I'd definitely say on occasions, especially if I'm craving a good burger. read more

Small owned family business who are great and we picked up an order today we called in at noon for 430 and at 4 got a call to confirm we would be there at 430 which was nice. Great customer service but please note you should call in your order before you go or they may not be able to accommodate your order for an hour or two because they are that small of an establishment and cool to order and quality good burgers. Upon entering, you'll notice maybe 3-4 massive signs emphasizing that this is NOT fast food, and the signs are correct. The burgers will take awhile, but they are phenomenal. I didn't previously feel the need to review Five Star Family Burger because dozens of folks have given the same review I will. It is terrific! However, after reading the ridiculous negative reviews, I feel compelled to clarify a few things. This isn't like McDonald's where you drive up 24/7 whenever you feel hungry. You need to plan in advance. This means calling ahead and placing an order. So what? Five Stars is that good, folks! Their food is sooooo uniquely delicious they had to invent a system to accommodate the floods of people who wish to eat there. As far as I'm concerned, that's good management of time, staffing and resources. They care about the quality of their food. That's the definition of a great restaurant to me. I called about 12:30 and they said they could do an order for me about 3:15 I believe it was. I had an appointment until 2:30 and headed over. I parked my car in the lot and about 3:05, a very friendly energetic young man makes the extra effort to come out and find me and invite me in to pick up my food. I felt like a member of their family! So nice! I had the kimchi burger (lively flavor! Fun!) and hubs ordered the bulgogi burger. Those juicy grilled patties were to die for. Nice fresh buns (bit of char was evidence they grilled those babies to perfection) and beautiful, FRESH veggies. Yummy sauce tied everything together in a delightful messy way. My mouth is watering with my own description. My beef-hound husband said the bulgogi was almost too much meat for him! I couldn't believe my ears! Fries were also delicious, still crispy when I got home 20 minutes after pickup. We cannot wait to eat there again. Crinkle fries were nice and crispy and perfectly salted the burger sauce drippings worked great for fry sauce too. It is a fun place, lots of license plates on the walls, seating seemed appropriate as most people ordered in advance to ouck up. Tables were clean and comfortable to sit at. As we left they thanked us for visiting, when we exited they had a door open outside where the dad was grilling burgers on that great smelling charcoal grill. He walk us through the menu, what's the most popular item (it varies everyday). I ordered the F5-kimchi cheeseburger with an extra patty. The meat was juicy and well seasoned. It mixed wonderfully with the kimchi, and toppings on the burger. You can chose your heat level too, 1-10, I went with level 5. Next time I'll go spicier. We also got an F8-Bulgogi Cheeseburger. The sweet sauce used in the bulgogi was delicious addition to the burger. It was a good sweet and salty combo. Finally we got the F1-Classic burger. It's just a basic burger but with one of their flavor-able, well seasoned patty. Every burger comes with fries. I'm not one to brag about fries, BUT lemme tell you they're crunchy, well salted, and tasty. Parking is limited but there is a lot of street parking. My gf and I called ahead and placed an order for a kimchi burger and bulgogi burger. They were very honest with time and said it would be about 35-40 minutes to make because we had just missed the previous batch (they hand marinate and make everything to order in batches). This was no problem since we were driving from Portland. If you like crinkle cut fries then I'd recommend 2 orders of fries since they are kind of small and the burger was gone in minutes...it was delicious. Personally I think I liked the bulgogi burger more and my gf liked the kimchi burger (spice 5). I think I overheard them going to level 10 or higher so I'd ask if you're curious. Ingredients were fresh and buns were soft and delicious. The bulgogi was perfect, not fatty or stringy. Perfect amount of crispy crinkle fries which weren't greasy or overly salted.
