Ahhh Super Deluxe!!! Our AC went out during the "Extreme Weather" event June 12-15. Of course it chose the hottest days to die!! And I wanted a burger SO bad. So instead of heating up the house, or going outside to grill, we dropped into Super Deluxe! The line was long so apparently we weren't the only ones wanting a bite to eat OUT! But man alive worth it. We each got meals and my guy also got a single. Our drinks were really drippy with pop when the guy went to hand them over, so he said oh wait...and took them back. He cleaned them off and then gave them back. THAT was huge to me because I get drippy drinks all the time and no one ever cares. But he did. He went above what I've experienced before and that made a huge difference to me. I hate getting sticky from pop and I HATE having to clean my seats or my cup holders because of drippy drinks!! Stopped in today for the first time after being on the road since 10am, by 5pm I was definitely starting to feel it. I was surprised to see no line in the drive-through and only one person inside waiting for food. The burger was delicious. The patty is on the thinner side, but the toppings are generous and well-balanced. I'd easily give the burger a 9/10. I was pleasantly surprised, especially after reading some mixed reviews. For a quick-service spot, it really delivered. The fries were a different story. They looked amazing, super crispy on the outside but the inside was bland and lacked flavor. When SuperDeluxe opened there were long lines for weeks, inside and out! I had never even heard of it and didn't understand what the big deal was. Well, now I know! There burgers are fresh, cooked on the flat top with mustard added, and when you put it on a bun with lettuce tomato and burger sauce: it really is delicious!! No wonder the fry's tasted weird. The crinkle fries are, more than likely, frozen when they put them into the hot canola oil. With two different ends of the temperature spectrum kills the flavor. Where's the potato? Canola oil is not good for you whether you use it for the french fries or just on the stove, it's just bad cheep oil. When it heats up it turns into Trans Fat. The burger was good, tasted like a super deluxe. It's cook to order so it's "not so fast" food. Which is good too. I just had the lemonade from the soda fountain. I had never been to SuperDeluxe, but was curious about it and had the opportunity to go while in Sherwood. The drive-thru line was very long, but no wait inside. I was immediately greeted by staff and helped when I was ready to order. I tried the Red, Fried and Blue Chicken Sando which was a delicious piece of chicken in Buffalo sauce, fried pickles, lettuce and blue cheese dressing. The cashier asked if I'd like to make it a combo so I said sure. The fountain coke was absolutely delicious. Excellent soda to syrup ratio! The fries were super hot, fresh from the fryer, and very crispy! Even after they cooled down they were still very crispy. Excellent customer service and delicious food. The most aggressively underwhelming burger I've ever had. I'm sure the cooks are lovely and trying their best, I don't think this is their fault. But wow, every ingredient was completely devoid of flavor. Tasted like someone talking about how a good burger tastes in another room. Same thing with the fizzy drinks, they were so bland it basically just tasted like plain seltzer water. A co-worker and I were on our way from Portland to McMinnville when we started to get hungry. As we were passing a major intersection, we were on the lookout for food and saw the normal fast food offerings. My co-worker spotted the sign for Super Deluxe and said he had just heard how good this place was. Neither of us had been there before, so we pulled in. The inside of the restaurant was clean, bright and welcoming and the staff was friendly. The menu was small but I liked the simplicity; often times, they pack too much stuff on a menu. We both opted for their double burger combo. The food came out relatively quick and was hot and fresh. I enjoyed their crinkle cut fries, as you don't normally get those. They were crispy and had just the right amount of salt. The burger was really good as well. The only critique there is that the chopped onions were a little big and the cheese could have been melted more. The portions were more than adequate, as I was stuffed after polishing it off. As far as fast food burgers and fries go, I would easily put this place above McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's and Burgerville. I would not say it's better than the fast-casual burger places like Five Guys. Their fries are easily better than In-N-Out but I'd give the burger nod to In-N-Out. We decided to give SuperDeluxe a try this afternoon at their new Sherwood location. The wait was about 40 minutes in line, not bad for a new opening. They renovated an old Burger King successfully and it looks very nice from the outside and it looks like they added a nice outdoor patio for then dine-in services resume. The window service was pleasant and fast. We each tried a burger, fries, and shared some chicken nuggets. The burgers were perfectly okay - filling, but on the smaller side for the price. The sodas are a total rip off - $3 for a 16oz soda that is mostly ice. The fries were crisp - they do crinkle cut fries which is refreshing. You don't see those types of fries a whole lot. The chicken nuggets are well-seasoned, but are very chunky and not really nuggets so much as chicken chunks. Personal preference, not the best food - but certainly not the worst. Been to the Pearl District SD. The food here is equally as good. The line for the drive through was long, but we only waited about a half hour. Once we got up close the line seemed to move fast. We decided that if there was a Super Deluxe next door to an In and Out and the wait was similar, we would pick Super D. Overall: Much like others, I still very hesitant to dine out (even if it's to go) because of the pandemic but I am glad that I took this opportunity with the Yelp Elite Event. If you decide to venture out, make sure you are not hungry because the long can get really long - waited an hour. Location: It's in a really great location where you can see it right off the Tualatin-Sherwood road with other establishments nearby like Target and even a 76 gas station. It can get a little dangerous because the drive-through line can get really long, stretching through intersections and all the way back to 76 gas stations which can about ~15 cars back from where you order. Service: Given the pandemic, long line, and that they can only have a limited amount of staff inside, they did fairly well and looked to have the system down! The staff even joked around a bit! Food: We ordered five items, (1) Double Deluxe, (2) Chicken Deluxe, (3) Orange Cream Super Tasty (Milkshake), (4) Passion Fruit Real Fruit Fizzy Water, and (5) French Fries. The Double Deluxe was really great, a lot of ingredients that blended in perfectly with nothing overpowering each other. The Chicken Deluxe was good but didn't have much flavor compared to the Double Deluxe. The Orange Cream Super Tasty was a blast from the blast as it tasted like an orange creamsicle but wasn't too strong. The Passion Fruit Real Fruit Fizzy Water tasted like carbonated water which I am personally not a fan of. TLDR: First experience was amazing and the past three times back have been very disappointing. -- Don't know how things in the span of 6 weeks go downhill. I usually try to order the same things for consistency and around lunch time as well, each time something has gone wrong with either service and/or taste. The first time was super- greeted, order screen clearly working and visible, order read back when paying and offered a receipt option, food order (double, single, 2 chicken deluxe customized, fries) perfect and enjoyed that the buns weren't cut all the way so the burger/chicken and toppings don't fall out. In the times after, everything has been a mess. Second time our order was incomplete, and double deluxe was salty and not fresh (like dry, the meat was sitting and waiting) along with the spicy chicken deluxe being overly salty with more than four pickles and spicy sauce. Chicken itself was uneven- some parts really thin and them one part thick. Fry sauces (ranch, bbq, honey mustard, ketchup, fry sauce) given as we wanted to try them all. Marionberry fizzy water had little carbonation and little fruit, so it was light but almost flavorless- it did help wash down the salt and did like how the lids are sippy cup style with mini ice rounds instead of cubes. The third time, the order screen didn't work so only told payment and was overcharged after asking for a receipt when picking up order. Was told the spicy chicken sauce cannot be on the side and still had pickles on it when we received it, after mentioning no pickles. The chicken nuggets were the first time ordering and it ended up being our favorite, nicely seasoned and bite size. Sauces was presented differently and tasted different (especially the ranch), fries were soggy. When mentioning the overcharge the employee seemed annoyed as she said she couldn't do anything about it as I was already handed the bag of food when I mentioned that the order screen didn't work she seemed to blame it on a new employee that was being trained which didn't make sense. She did say she could get a manager but there were already cars backed up and decided just to take the extra burger. This last time we again got a double deluxe meal, single deluxe, chicken deluxe customized, chicken nuggets and fries. Order screen worked this time and asked about sauces but none in the bag. I had to ask for a receipt again. The burgers were cold- the meat was dry and hard, only thing fresh was the vegetables in it. The chicken nuggets were well seasoned but so rubbery- did not continue to eat. Fries were soggy and had to air fry them back at home. All in all, very inconsistent and service is sub par, very dependent on which employee is helping you (whomever the first employee was, she was amazing). For the price, the value is not present. The convenience is there as the drive thru line moves fast (haven't had to wait more than 10min) but everything else is spotty. There definitely needs to be something done about the various order systems as the order screen will mention the customization of burgers like no pickles or no sauce but a physical copy of the receipt doesn't say any details and depending on the employees, the service factors too as I've only had my order read back or checked once and sauces aren't always given. I tried this place out as part of a Yelp Elite Perk. Both myself and my dining companion each ordered a Double Deluxe burger with fries and a drink. The service was quick and very friendly. We picked a good time to go, around 2pm on a weekday and there was hardly a wait at the drive-thru. The dining room appeared closed. The workers were all wearing gloves and masks. The burger was delicious. Two patties were nested in along with caramelized chopped onions, plenty of cheese, shredded lettuce, a slice of tomato, pickles, and a nice thousand island type burger sauce. It was a rich and saucy burger, but not too big to fit into your mouth. It was not dry at all, in fact quite the opposite. I appreciated that the bun was robust enough to stand up to all that juiciness. It didn't fall apart or get soggy. The flavors were rich and fresh. The cheese was noticeably flavorful, I would guess aged cheddar was in there. The onions were a great addition. To me, cooked onions are better in burgers than raw. When cooked, they yield a milder but far richer flavor, which they did here. The patties were very tasty, and two patties didn't seem like overkill as they so often can. It was probably one of the best fast food burgers I have had. It wasn't quite to the level of a superb restaurant style burger, but very near the top in its class! The fries were crinkle cut and very addictive. The famed crispy exterior/creamy interior fry was attained here, and they had just the right amount of salt on them. The drinks were your standard fountain type drinks, but the ice pieces were smaller and rounder than the ice most other fast food restaurants use. This places makes tasty burgers and chicken nuggets! For fast food, it's pretty good. I don't think the taste compares to In n Out at all - the flavors aren't really the same imo. Similar price point and amount of food maybe. SuperDeluxe's burger was juicy and maybe had a bit too much sauce on it for me, but it tasted good. The crinkle fries were surprisingly crisp by the time I got them home. And we tried the chicken nuggets which are all white meat and not overly breaded or greasy. Pretty yummy stuff. I see people comparing this to Killer Burger , which I think makes superior burgers, but they're not a fast food drive thru and the burgers cost 2x as much. So I don't think they're in the same class. Both are good for their categories. I'm always down to support local businesses, even if they're a small local chain.
