The food is as good as ever. If you have not been to killer burger its high on the burger scale. Many varieties yet simple menu. The peanut butter pickle burger is their foundation and it just kind of builds from there. Fries are always crispy not over done. The amount seems to have diminished little by little. Service is always a challenge at this type of establishment. They have developed a big to go and food service following. The kitchen is busy. The staff has been cut back so you can see someone cooking and making fries then coming up to take your order. So they can make you wait a little. It also effects the service at the tables. Not always clean tables. Noticed a couple of tables here out of paper towels. Ketcups were empty and mustards were empty. Not a lot of attention to tables and service at the table. When Killer Burger first came to Sherwood we were very excited. We had eaten at the original in Portland and it was so good. We haven't been here in years because the quality of the food had declined. Our daughter wanted to go tonight so we did. Every table had a layer of food scraps and grease on it and food on the floor. Not sure about protocol for the kitchen but there were people with long hair and no hair nets. I used to love Killer Burger and I was sad when I moved from Portland to Sherwood because I no longer had my go to burger joint. Then they opened in Sherwood and I was happy. But they slowly lost quality and their burgers had a chemically taste. Tonight was my first time back in 3 or 4 years. Burger was tasted good but the restaurant seemed to be not well managed. The cashier asked me if I wanted fries with my burger. My wife and I both wanted fries so we ordered a shareable fry. When our burgers came out they came with fries and we also got the shareable fries. The cashier fooled us with the "do you want fries" because the burger came with fries, we didn't need extra fries. We were the only customers in the restaurant and the tables were all dirty with crumbs and were greasy and sticky. Thankfully they have paper towels at each table so we picked the cleanest one and wiped it off. So this was my first time ever coming to killer burger, i was super excited because ive heard very good things about them, but when i got there, this guy had either just gotten back from a break or had just clocked in and immediately he already had a bad attitude but i didnt think much of it, i go up to him and try to tell him my order and he immediately cut me off asking if it was for here or take out, i responded with take out and continued to try and take my order, he then cut me off again asking for my name, which i found really rude in the manner he did it. i finished telling my order and he told me the price and immediately walked away without telling me anything about how to pay or anything so my boyfriend had to point it out to me, i should also mention i have glasses so its already difficult for me to see, we got our drinks and my boyfriend originally got a peach tea but there was absolutely no sugar in there so it was very bland and he had to toss it out and get another drink. we sat down so we could wait for our order and the table was sticky, as if it hasnt been cleaned properly after a spill, we got our food and in the picture below you can clearly see the difference between how fresh the fries look between these two boxes, the lettuce they put on my burger was old and i also asked for no pickles which they also put on my burger, my patty was burnt and it really looked like it was thrown together. 0/10 if i could rate it, i had such an awful experience there and i hope nobody has to deal with the same service i did!! it was very upsetting. read more

I haven't been to this killer burger in many years, maybe seven years. I'm sure my review down below would show that I wasn't a huge fan back then. I thought I'd try today and see if my overall opinion took a turn for the better. Unfortunately has not and it'll probably be another seven years before I come here again. The staff was super friendly, very helpful, and it looks like they're working hard. Unfortunately, their efforts are not towards keeping the facility clean. I was the first person in the door this morning at 11 AM. I am shocked with how dirty the floor is, several dirty tables, the carts haven't been cleaned in a year I'm guessing, the wood bench hasn't been cleaned, and a trip to the bathroom revealed a dirty toilet. The moment of opening should be the best this place ever looks, so I presume during the rest of the day will be a downturn of cleanliness. The food was very good, I'm not a huge fan of overcooked thin patties, but that is a very subjective comment. Everything was fresh and I did enjoy my meal down to the last bite. We went to killer, Burger and Sherwood next to Walmart for a quick lunch. We ordered two burgers, no bacon with lettuce wrap. When the burgers arrived they had both had bacon on them. When I took them back to the counter said, can we please get new ones we cannot eat bacon to do religious reasons they said I'm sorry and brought the same burgers back torn up, and the bacon removed. I actually really think the food here is amazing ...... But only when it's served fresh and hot. We used to go here regularly but will likely not be back for a while, if at all. At our most recent visit, we ordered our food for dine-in and after waiting for close to 40 minutes and seeing people who arrived after us get their food, we finally asked about our food...... It was sitting right there in a to-go bag all nice and cold. The employee just hands it to my wife without saying a thing. The time prior to this, we also waited about 45 minutes but at least we were warned ahead of time about the wait, the employee was apologetic and our food was hot and fresh when we got it. Ultimately, what it looks like is things are getting worse with each visit. I understand there's a labor shortage but if a business can't even serve food hot and fresh, it's just not worth going. Again, I don't mind a wait currently as I understand getting enough employees is difficult but a cold burger and fries are gross. In the past, I have criticized this place because ALL burgers here taste of pickles. Most of the "standard" burgers here have pickles. And that's the problem. If you order without pickles , you will likely get pickles anyway. And even if you can get them to leave the pickles off, your burger will still taste noticeably, strongly of pickles. It's some sort of contamination issue in the kitchen. I decided to give this place another try today. A Classic Burger ordered emphatically without pickles did come without pickles, but it still tastes and even smells strongly of pickles. For me, no amount of even bacon can solve this. I have complained about this in reviews several times over years now and this problem persists. This is not a one-up oversight. This is the culture and the way of this restaurant. This is how they want their food to be. If you don't mind this, If you want pickles on your burger, then come here. But if you don't want to spend fifteen bucks and end up with pickles, then skip this place because they obviously don't want you -- or me -- as a customer. I won't be back. read more

I have eaten at many different Killer Burgers over the years. It is my favorite burger place. Unfortunately that ended today at the Sherwood Killer Burger. It was my first time eating at the Sherwood location. Upon entering the restaurant I immediately smelled something like old cooking lard or a dirty greasy grill. It was pungent. I chose to ignore it since I have eaten at Killer for years and the food is good. My burger arrived a bit greasier than normal. Again, I thought it was a one off. No big deal - right! This was a BIG mistake! My gastro system was wreaked the rest of the day into late evening. I could not eat anything else after that. We came in at 7:30 and we were initially told a 25 minute wait and then said it would be 15 minutes. We waited 45 minutes while we watched customers who came in behind us get their food. When we asked where our food was, they said they hadn't started making it. We finally got 3 out of 4 of our orders. We waited another 5 minutes for the last burger to arrive. My wife and I stopped here on the way home from taking the car to get serviced in Newberg. We are also preparing to move to Sherwood and wanted to get a better idea of what to expect in the area, and I recognized Killer Burger from when I used to go to the Hollywood location circa 2015. Apparently they are a small chain now? I always thought it was just the Downtown Portland and Hollywood locations, but now they're all over the metro area. Anyway... We each got the Jose Mendoza burger, minus pickles, which comes with bottomless fries. While the price tag is high ($13.25 I believe it was for each burger,) I was quite surprised by the quality of the food. The burger was big but not overly messy; everything was contained by the bun, and the green chilies took this burger over the "average" threshold. What really shined was the fries, however, as they were light, crispy and hot. A very satisfying meal, even if a bit overpriced. All the workers who interacted with us were very friendly, but because of Covid restrictions certain things are different. You have to ask for soda refills, water, paper towels and condiments. While before you could just grab any of those things instantly, you have to wait for someone now. I don't blame them for this, of course, but is one of many inconveniences caused by these unprecedented times. I'd come back here, especially to try out their specialty burgers. read more

I'm loving the Teemah burger here at Killer Burger. It's got bacon, blue cheese spread & crumbles, some other special sauce, pickles and grilled onions. What's not to love, right? So good. So messy too, but in a good drippy burger sort of way. You know what else I love about Killer Burger is they offer a slightly smaller version of all their burgers, so you can still get the great flavors but not stuff yourself silly with too much food. Because they also give you a load of hot salty fries, which are unlimited (but who can eat that much??). Also the smaller burger is a couple bucks cheaper. Full-size burgers are about twice the price of a typical fast food drive thru burger, but I would argue they are twice as good. During their busy dinner hours for takeout (which is all we're getting now that we're in COVID lockdown #2), I highly recommend ordering online ahead of time, so that it's ready for you when you roll in. Lots of parking in the lot, shared by a few other popular food places. When they allow dine-in again, this location has a bunch of picnic tables outside under the roof that are great to sit at, as well as indoor tables with TVs to watch sports. read more

This time I tried the limited time special, the Jose Mendoza -- and it was my favorite ingredient combo so far. The burger included Bacon, Roasted Green Chiles, Monterey Jack, House Sauce, Grilled Onion & Pickle. It was the perfect blend of roastiness, acidity, and just a touch of heat. The fries were amazing, as always. Perfectly crisp exterior, sprinkled with course sea salt, with a soft, fluffy interior. Best fries around. It's very casual here and it's a good place to bring kids, a friend or even a large group of friends. The service is minimal, but all interactions with the people that work here are great. They also serve beer! So this is a good place for a decently priced tasty burger and a beer. I get the peanut butter bacon burger every time I come here, it's just too good to try anything else. Food was great, but they lost points on their service. I will only go to the Cedar Hills location from now on. It took them 20 minutes to get our food. I noticed a lot of tables without food, waiting. I was watching the boys and they looked very inefficient with how they were filling orders. They were constantly switching spots in the kitchen or switching spots with the cashier. The cashier had long hair down to his shoulders and was not wearing a hairnet when he went back to the kitchen. I find that unsanitary. Especially when he kept doing hair flips like Justin Bieber. The staff need to use their lungs when they're calling out names for orders! I could barely hear them. And they only called out a name once before placing the order on a shelf. Like I stated earlier, the food was great. The burger was juicy and the fries were crispy. It was disappointing the staff didn't label the boxes of which burger was which. Greeted for lunch, before noon and ordered 2 classic burgers with no drinks to go and within 10-15 minutes got my order. The space itself is very clean, lots of seating and entertainment (multiple TVs, game corner with actual board games too which was a bit unusual but cool none the less). Multiple variety of Condiments and real silverware by the drink dispenser too. What really impressed me was a small sink for handwashing too, as I don't think anyone wants greasy fingers after eating or if you enjoy the board games. The burgers were a good size and pretty thick, because the order was for carry out they did get a bit soft in terms of crispiness for the lettuce and tomatoes. The house sauce was a little too much for myself and the guest I was with but a good portion. They did not skimp out on the fries which were golden and medium size in terms of width. I like the fact that the burgers are brought out to you but a little confused if you bus your own table or not as half the customers did and didn't. Went on Sunday and place was not busy. I clearly spoke my order and felt that the cashier rang it up right, but never repeated the order. When we received the food, my burger had onions and mayo which I specifically asked for without. Fine, not the end of the world.. I'm about to say something I never thought I'd say. It's bold. It's shocking. It's scandalous. Killer Burger is better than In N Out. I'm surprising even myself tonight ladies and gents, but it's the truth. Let me tell you a little about the burgers. The meat is juicy, melts in your mouth and is cooked to perfection. If you go, get the Peanut Butter Bacon Burger. You'll be tempted to add cheese, but trust me...don't. Yes, this combo sounds extremely unappetizing but after one bite I promise you'll be sold! Being gluten free I really appreciated the gluten free bun option and took full advantage. The bun wasn't the best I'd ever had but not terrible either. The fries come hot and taste freshly cut. There are several custom dipping sauces to choose from, but the best is the Bender. The restaurant itself is fast paced, noisy from the swarms of customers and classic rock blaring from the speakers. Two large tv's flank the walls playing sports. I'm not a beer drinker, but this place had probably 15+ on tap. As I close this review there is ONE small complaint I have (you didn't think I could go an entire review without complaining, did you?). The ketchup is terrible. Awful. Dare I say...DISGUSTING. Oh, Killer Burger, I have never ever had a disappointing experience dining at your many fine establishments. I must confess, I am not a huge fan of chain restaurants. The quality of the ingredients can be suspect and the food bland and unoriginal. I am definitely not one to order or buy vanilla ice cream. When I do, you better believe that is is for pie a la mode, sundaes, banana splits, etc. I love different and extreme flavors, originality spices, and so on. Killer Burger is a local restaurant that happens to have multiple locations, so yeah, kinda like a chain, but definitely somewhere that I would go multiple times a year, rather than those places that you eat at while on a road trip and nothing else is around. My boyfriend is from the East Coast and is not familiar with Killer Burger. We moved to Sherwood several Saturdays ago. My treat to the loved ones who helped us move was Ding Tea in SE PDX, and lunch at Killer Burger. When ordering online, I asked if anyone wanted anything to drink. The BF really wanted a milkshake, as that is pretty standard at many burger joints. My brother explained that Killer Burger isn't really one of those places. He talked about the music that is played, the general atmosphere, and how there are many alcoholic options. The BF doesn't drink, so not getting the chance to enjoy a milkshake with his burger and fries kinda killed the dining experience. Well, let's just say that he totally forgot that he wanted a milkshake when he dug into his burger and fries. I love that bacon and fries come with all of the burgers. I mean, other than Jewish and Muslim folks, or vegans and vegetarians, who doesn't like bacon!? The gentleman who handed me my To Go order just had a warm, positive aura. Despite us all wearing masks, just looking at his eyes, I could tell that he was smiling. He wasn't annoyed when I requested additional ketchup. I had four men who were waiting at home, and the last thing that I wanted, was to not have enough ketchup to go around. Like, how un-American would that have been!? Fast forward to last night, when the BF and I decided to have dinner on their patio. Man, we are so stoked that they have GF bun and lettuce wrap options. They are so good and recognize when there isn't a bun to keep the sauces in check and from oozing everywhere, that putting them on the side is really helpful. I love that Killer Burger is open to both dine-in, take out, and patio dining. The weather has been fantastic and as a native PNWer, summer is simply spectacular. Dining al fresco is one of my favorite summertime joys, so to be able to eat on their clean and socially-distanced patio, is great. We tried dining outside at home but were eaten by mosquitos both times. No mosquitos on the patio at Killer Burger, despite it being between 8-9 pm. The same smiley gentleman came by and brought our meals out to us. He clearly communicated expectations about us leaving our dirty dishes on the table, so that they know to come by to buss it as well as clean everything. We were brought quality paper towels, rather than thin, cheap napkins that you have to use twenty of. The paper towels came in very handy because the burger was a delightful mess. We had been kicked off the patio at the MOD Pizza, across the way, at 9:26 pm the weekend before, even though they close at 10:00 pm. We were pissed and shared this story with Adam, their Assistant Manager, aka Mr. Smiley. He told us that we could stay. We did not want to overstay our welcome but were very well aware that they closed at 9:00. We were very kindly and gently reminded when they played "Closing Time" by Semisonic. We wrapped up our meal and left at 9:07, along with a couple and a woman who also happened to dine late. No one got kicked out, everyone enjoyed their meals at a leisurely pace, no one felt rushed. This is much appreciated, seeing that with a burger and fries so good, one should enjoy and savor every bite of their meal. What a shame to have to scarf something so yummy down. Kudos to Adam, who not only brought paper towels out, but he also brought us water, and checked in with us closer to closing time. He and his staff are gracious, personable, and have made me a loyal, repeat customer of their location. Note to self: leave a bigger tip than the usual 20% next time.
