My husband and I went in for a Valentine's Day lunch and left with food poisoning. I felt violently ill shortly after eating and let a waitress know who blew me off. The sickness and vomiting continued throughout the entire day. The ribs were shockingly bad. The pigs they're sourcing must be on Ozempic, because both my husband's rack and mine were almost entirely bone. The only meat on mine was the thin strip between the bones, and it was so dry it might as well have been jerky. The plates may have looked appealing at first, but they were incredibly disappointing. Everywhere I expected meat, there was just bone slathered in sauce, and I didn't even use the sauce provided at the table. Bad food is one thing. Getting sick from it is another. The food was ok. The brisket was tough and chewy. Not how brisket should be described! The coleslaw lacked any flavor. The egg-rolls were stuffed full of meat and really good flavor. Famous Dave's is a decent BBQ joint. The food is always solid and tasty. It is a bit pricey, however, if you get the "feasts" you won't be disappointed with the portion size! My husband decided to get 9 ribs on his own so my daughter and I split the feast for two. Man oh man!! LOTS of food!! Choices of meat, sides, corn and muffins! We ended up with a lot of left overs and didn't have to go out for lunch the next day! The waitress was excellent. Fast. Attentive to our needs and checked in with us a number of times. The menu is quite large and we ended up splitting a run meal and added on an extra meat option for around $6. The food came out quickly. The ribs and chopped pork were decent and I would recommend the country chicken as it was juicy and flavorful. I would skip the fries as they were a bit oily tasting for my taste! Dave's is definitely consistent in their offering of both restaurant style and ambiance as well as the quality of food. While I am a huge bbq fan, when there are limited choices to choose from, Dave's almost always rises to the "let's go there" recommendation because I know what I am going to get. The portions are generous, the food is done well and the menu has a large variety of options to choose from. We shared a rib platter and a burnt end platter. Between these two meet dishes, it came with four sides and cornbread. They do a great job on their Mac n cheese side and Wilbur beans. The fries are standard steak fries and the coleslaw is ok. The service the night we were there was great. I unfortunately don't remember our waitresses name, but she was lively, energetic and laughing. Nice to have a happy server. I had a stuffed baked potato which was cold. My husband's baby back were tough and inedible, also cold. The whole lunch was disgusting and inedible. And it was not cheap. To clarify...I recently had Famous Dave's delivered via UberEats...so this review is for the food on takeout...not the actual restaurant. I last had FD probably 10 years ago..,and was hankering for some brisket and ordered a pound of brisket plus three sides...slaw, beans and mac and cheese. The delivery was a direct shot from the restaurant and arrived hot/warm. But I must say...the food quality was absolutely awful. I very very very rarely leave a single star...but this food was so bad my wife and I tossed most of it after a few bites...sad as it was close to $50 in food. I can't even describe how bad the meat was...overcooked and just tasted strange...even doused in the bbq sauce it just was not good. The mac and cheese was also flavorless...as were the Wilbur beans...I've had much better sides at KFC or Chick-Fil-A...that should not be the case for a restaurant like this. The saving grace was the slaw...it was pretty much all I ate that night. I don't know if this Famous Dave's is representative of the other locations...but given the price point I would most definitely go elsewhere for my BBQ fix. read more

Stopped here with my kid #1 for dinner before picking up my kid #2 at the airport right down the street. Walked in and the greeter looked and acted like he just finished a joint. Sat us in a booth, it was clean. I ordered Daves Sassy Salad with pulled pork which I quite enjoyed, my daughter ordered a burger. She said it was the driest burger she has ever had. I did have one bite that I had to spit out in my napkin because it was so hard like a rock in my mouth and wanted to keep my teeth. This was my first visit here but my husband has visited many times. I'm not usually a big fan of BBQ places but this place was really good! It has a great country style decor with vintage signs and wood accents. It appears clean and well maintained. We were seated quickly and our server took our drink orders right away. When our drinks were delivered our food order was taken. We tried a variety of meat options. Some ribs, pork, chicken strips, wings and more. Everything was cooked nicely, well seasoned and served hot. There's also a variety of BBQ sauces offered on the table if you'd like more flavor added. The sides were really great too! The mashed potatoes and corn bread were actually my favorite items. I love chicken strips but I know they're more directed to the kids menu type of item. I reluctantly asked our server if they happen to have honey mustard. She didn't skip a beat and came back within minutes with a side of honey mustard for me! It made my day! The Brisket was not the consistency of meat, It was like tiny pieces of meat pressed together with some kind of filler and when you chew it just crumbled in your mouth and it was lukewarm. My daughter ordered lunch for us today. My pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw added came in at a whooping $22 and change and this is before they added on the to go packaging. The sandwich came with a side and I had the garden salad. I added coleslaw to the pulled pork sandwich. The meat on the sandwich was about the thickness of two regular hamburger patties from McDonald's. The prices keep going up and the serving sizes keep going down. 22 plus for the size we received was not worth it. We used to order from them fairly frequently but no more. There was more bun than anything else. I don't mind paying for what I get but Famous Dave's needs to rethink their pricing for their serving sizes. So many changes there like removing the cheese from salads, very small sides are 5.89 and large quart sides are 14.99. read more

This was my first visit to the Tualatin Famous Dave's, and just like the Cascade Station location, I was really impressed. So much so that we will likely have them cater our company picnic this summer. I ordered the 3-meat combo with brisket, chopped pork, and country roasted chicken. For sides, I went with the Wilbur Beans and the mac n' cheese; and of course it came with a cornbread muffin. Both the brisket and pork were good and smoky, and I liked the presentation on top of the Texas toast. The roast chicken was not as smoky (I think that was by design), but still was wonderfully seasoned. The meat was moist, and a little bit of Rich & Sassy BBQ sauce was perfect with it. The goal was to try the three different options for our company picnic -- no way could I eat all of that! The sides were delicious, too. I had tried the mac n' cheese before, and they were good and cheesy like before, with just a hint of jalapeno kick. The Wilbur Beans were nicely sweet, with chunks of yummy pork mixed in, with a bit of residual heat coming thru at the end. Throw in the moist & sweet cornbread muffin, and my taste buds were happy. The only negative I could really mention is very minor: the paper covers over the metal service trays didn't hold up very well to getting soaked, and started to rip apart; which made it a bit difficult to separate out from the food. I didn't remember that happening at the NE PDX location, so not sure why this time. So count me in as a Famous Dave's fan! Went there today for some breadpudding to go. It was so utterly wonderful! Nice size piece came with ice cream and pecan praline sauce. My friends and I came here after a long day of walking and shopping around Portland. Parking was fairly easy, since it's located in a shopping complex. So my friends and I came here on a pretty hungry stomach, and we thought with three people, getting the Feast for 2, plus a side of Burnt Ends would be a good amount of food. Before our main order came out, we were given a dish of potato chips and munched on that while we waited. And I think that may have filled our stomach, because by the time the food came, we ate a few of the different items and were full after barely finishing half of the feast for 2. We probably could have done without the extra order of burnt ends Overall, the food was really good! The ribs, chicken, brisket, and burnt ends were really flavorful. The corn was sweet and tasty. Service was also great! The only downfall, which is why I docked down a star, was the restroom situation. The restroom was clean, but it was absolutely tight getting out of the stall. There's not a lot of space left between the stall door and the toilet. You pretty much have to stand over the toilet as you open the door in order to get out.
