Great find! Staying at the Century Hotel, and was surprised to find somewhere to have brunch. Nice quiet setting. With a great selection of.

Best Steak Salad! Great service at the bar and a fantastic recommendation for the Steak & Artichoke salad! They have a wine selection that is local with options out of Williamette Valley. The vibe is cool and the spot to be for post-work hangout with friends.

Slightly upscale tavern with gorgeous lakeside location--it's right off the road, but the hotel next door keeps it very quiet on the back patio. The drinks and happy hour food are pretty standard, but the tomato basil soup is made in-house, delicious, and comes with a half grilled cheese, I highly recommend. Service was attentive. The real selling point is sitting by the lake on a sunny day with a cocktail though.

We have came here for brunch, breakfast, dinner, and happy hour. I love all of it! Haven't had a bad experience yet. Their bottomless mimosas are such a good deal, waffles are thick and delicious, love their Mac and cheese. Service is always nice, attentive and friendly. It's a much larger space then it looks, really enjoyable

Brix Tavern is a great brew pub in the complex that houses the Century Hotel and some residences. It is a fun location that we frequent when visiting locals in Newberg. We had salmon, shrimp and Kale salad and a decadent Lava cake. The view of the man-made lake is spectacular. The service has always been friendly and attentive. This location appears to be a local favorite.

I was staying at the Century Hotel, next-door to the tavern, with a large group of people who were in town for a wedding. We had dinner there the first night, and breakfast the last morning. We were a large group of people (20+) who trickled in over a period of 30 minutes and sometimes changed seats to visit with different people, and the staff was just awesome. They made sure that everyone got their orders and we're very gracious about adding extra tables as needed. The food was delicious, the ambience is great. There's a beautiful view of the lake. I would go there again in a heartbeat.

Came here for brunch with my girls. They seated us near the pond which was a lovely view. The food was good! They let us order the Brix Chips which wasn't on the brunch menu. My favorite thing was probably the Brix chips! It had so much flavor and was perfectly cheesy! The only complaint I had was the portion of the country fried chicken. For $17, they only give you 1 small piece of fried chicken and 1/3 of it was batter. Although the chicken itself was very good, I was left wishing there was more. Overall, service was amazing and we would love to come back for the brix chips!

Well when you've had a tough defeat at the your college football game, you need to find a good tavern to shake it off. Well we found the right one. Our group decided to stop at Brix Tavern on the way home. Great decision! The food and beverages were great. Our waiter Tearsa was a delight, she really made us feel welcome. I ordered the fish and chips, which was very good. The fish actually had a little spice to it, which was a welcome surprise. The atmosphere is very casual and comfortable. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The West Burger with tater tots

This was my first time visiting, although I have been to the Brix in the Pearl in Portland. The location of this one is interesting but right by a lake for a nice view. The parking lot is big with plenty of parking and you enter through the big door entrance. Walking in, I was greeted with the open and spacious bar and dining area with a casual but also elevated vibe. I came to meet a few friends in the back room where I assume they have private events. It was nice and open, perfect for big groups and events with large screens and its own family-friendly bathroom. I was torn between the pulled pork sandwich or a burger but it turns out I didn't have to choose because there exists the West Burger which was the best of both worlds (pulled pork topping for a burger) and bonus with a fried egg on top! I had to get the tater tots and they came out hot and crispy with a side of ketchup. Side note you can also get Cajun tots but I didn't know that I can do that or else I would have gone that route. Everyone else in my group also enjoyed their food and drinks as well. Definitely a crowd pleaser and something for everyone. Happy Hour deals looked good too so might return for that!

We ordered an Italian sandwich which was delicious and Mudhoney Remix and a ginger beer. They have NA options and $1 off everything during happy hour (4-6 pm and all day Sunday). The bar has a nice cozy feel to it and a mellow look to it. Parking can be tricky at times like most places in the village, but I was able to find street parking in the residential area a block away. There is also a paid parking lot across the street if you don't want to walk much. Definitely going back again to try more of their drinks.

Checked out the menu and was given a recommendation based on my preferences. Settled on the Mudhoney cocktail... the Chardonnay foam was such a really fun touch! The prices are fair, and the small bites offer great options when you don't need or want a full meal. I ordered a side of pretzels and the bartender comped them because there weren't enough to justify a full portion. Very classy. I like the atmosphere a lot... good lighting, comfy booths, plentiful drink options. And not too loud! Definitely a perfect place for a date or hangout with a trusted friend!

[Format & Space] Seat yourself*, review the menus at the table, order at the bar, they bring your food and drinks to your table. *Plenty of tables, some with long benches, others with chairs on the inside. There's also a large patio. This is a welcome and safe space. [Drinks] Right up front, I'm going to tell you I'm a lightweight. I'm allergic to alcohol, so I don't drink often. Here's one of the things I love about The 649. They have a fantastic selection of mocktails that are created with the same creativity, flair, and intention as a "leaded" cocktail. I appreciate that I get to participate and not be stuck with a lemonade, zero alcohol beer, or wine. So, HUZZAH for creating an inviting space for a non-drinker! There *are* times when I'm willing to risk the lobster-bod, itchiness, and stuffy nose and there are plenty of cocktails from which to choose! [Food] There's a nice selection of sharable plates and mains. I've personally tried the flatbread pizza, Bavarian pretzel, Cubano, and Brisket Press, all of which were delish. [Service] The service has always been fabulous. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. [Activities] There are a few TVs around the bar with sports. It was a great place to catch some of the World Cup games. Additionally, there are several games that you can borrow and play, which is a lot of fun. [Location] Tucked in a busy shopping center with Safeway as an anchor. Parking hasn't been super problematic yet, but based on one of the other reviewers (Ron R - loved your formatting too, so I borrowed it until we get rich text formatting or emojis!) I can see where it could be a challenge.

This I'd say, is a fantastic little hang out! Here's the 411 on The 649:…read more * Parking Situation * Although the location of The 649 is just "where the F" (eye-roller). Because it's somewhat hidden in the corner of a Safeway shopping plaza. Look for the Baskin Robbins or Wells Fargo ATM and your find it. Like other reviews, when busy, parking can be a bit horrendous. But in hindsight, I'm not gonna reduce a star just because of location. * Bar Food Menu & Dining * Their menu starts with shareable bites, like a pretzel, tacos, quesadilla, loaded nachos, and even a charcuterie plate. Slightly larger dishes would be their Cubano and Brisket Press sandwiches. They even have a few choices for soup and salads, and a couple of dessert items listed. Don't forget to check the chalkboard next to the bar for specialty dishes and drinks. As for dining-in, they've got sturdy wooden tables that can accommodate 4-8 people. Bar stools by the windows, and a fairly large outside patio area. And with the times I've been here, I've never seen a dirty table. Very well maintained (two thumbs up). A few TV monitors showing the game, but its not like a noisy sportsbar. * Drinks & Services* You've got your choice of craft beers that rotate like a standard tap room. They also have tasty seasonal cocktails, but their normal everyday cocktails are just as good. And if you're gonna have a charcuterie board, then you've got to offer a wine list option right? Well they got that too! One last thing to mention, they've got some top-shelf bourbon and whiskey. The 649 is a bar that offers it all! Service has also been welcoming and top-notch. I recall only been served by Rich, Steven, and Crystal, but they always seem to craft up some lovely cocktails. Or deliver some clean tasting everyday type of bar food as well. * Last Call * Normally in my reviews, I'd list every item that I've tried, with price included. But The 649 is such a unique type of bar experience that I feel you should try for yourself; To me, their offerings are reasonably priced. Dining in is nothing fancy, but service is excellent. It's a great hangout for a business date, of even after a first date. I've got nothing but love for local support!
