This is Cockman's Kitchen's new location and is now named Big Tasty's. A bit confusing but if you go, just know the food is delicious no matter what name is on the side of the food truck. I had the pulled pork sandwich with slaw - very good! The service was fast and friendly and the food truck location was easy to find and easy to navigate. Parking can be a challenge, especially on a Sunday afternoon with free bingo being offered by the food truck location. I ended up having to park a block away but sidewalks are plentiful and easy to walk on. Good food was worth the challenge, however; I'd go again in a heartbeat! read more

I go to the willamette garages a lot and big tastys is my go to. I LOVE IT! My favorite is the brisket and the street corn. Both are to die for but I've also tried almost everything else on the menu and it's all incredible. The staff/owners are so so kind and service is top notch. We visited a new food truck pod dangerously close to my office in Tigard. What a FANTASTIC lunch at this newly opened BBQ food truck called Cockmans kitchen. Maria is so fun & friendly not to mention has some pretty delicious food. Her and her husband Adam run the truck, smoke the meat and make all the sides. We tried the pork belly special, 1/2 lb juicy brisket, broccoli salad, baked beans and Mexican street corn. If you are craving BBQ this is the spot you need to check out. The Brisket was juicy and flavorful. The BBQ sauce was sweet with a hint of spice. The Broccoli salad was just like my family makes. The beans were tasty. I wasn't super excited about the Mexican street corn. It was different from the traditional creamy kind. I probably wouldn't get it again but that broccoli salad and beans are a definite go for me!! The pork belly was good but could use a toss in the grill after smoked to caramelize the BBQ sauce and give it another note. This is a brand new food truck small business so come and show them some love and try a few things. Give them your feedback because they want to make sure your experience is fantastic. This is my good friends business she started with her husband recently and her husband CAN COOK!!!! She already been in the restaurant industry for a long time so this was overdue. I visited today around 11/11:15am and they had quite the lunch rush! Overheard lots of large orders. They got them out in a timely manner. I had the shredded rib sandwich and OH MAN IT WAS THE BEST IVE EVER HAD. I'm not too much of a bbq person but now I am. Both owners are high energy and extremely friendly and attentive. The sandwich was perfectly done. The purple cabbage added that crunch, the ribs were so flavorful it brought little tears to my eyes. One sandwich wasn't enough but I was on a time crunch. Came to this spot thanks to google! We were immediately greeted by the owner, super friendly guy who takes pride in his work. He even came out to personally hand us the food! We ordered the brisket, coleslaw,& mexican corn and boy were we blown away. The brisket was so delicious and tender, not too lean and not too fatty it was just right. We loved the seasoning & depth of peppercorn flavor paired with the bbq sauce. The mexican corn was nice and sweet but at the same time had that smokey flavor. My personal favorite was the red cabbage coleslaw which we learned was a family recipe from grandma. Okay first, logistics: this is now Big Tasty and they are located at the food truck situation in West Lynn. Businesses grow and evolve and that's great. What is also great is this bbq joint. I'm personally not a fan of barbecue but my family attests that it is "damn good." Of note in the comments were: the brisket, the street corn, the cornbread, the Cole slaw, the mac n cheese, the sauce. Probably everything. For me, it's the experience. I busted in on a Sunday in need of bbq to feed a grieving family. They took my order over the phone, helped me with quantities and choices, and were so very accommodating when it was clear they were also very busy (and they should be because, as noted, they are damn good). I didn't tell them how and why I needed the help and the good food, they just showed up for us because apparently that is how they are. I don't often review places it just isn't my thing. However in this case I feel it is needed. My wife and I went to lunch at Cockman's Kitchen. My wife got the 1/2 pound brisket and I got the 5 ribs. The ribs fall right off the bone and were the definition of perfection. The brisket was fantastic as well such great flavor. We shared a side order of the Mexican Street Corn which was also delicious. I highly recommend trying Cockman's Kitchen if you want good bbq. We will definitely be back. I also enjoyed that we were able to sit at a table in the shade and listen to music that was playing but not so loud that my wife and I couldn't have a nice conversation while we waited for our meal. Arrived at Cockman's and was greeted by the owners. They are super sweet and nice! They're also very passionate about BBQ, and they mentioned how everything they make is homemade. Customer service was top notch. I ordered the beef brisket with a side of coleslaw. I picked up the order and literally had to stop on the side of the road to eat because it smelled soooo good! The brisket is so juicy, falls apart like a feather that's how tender the brisket is, and very well-seasoned! 10/10 The coleslaw, I personally wasn't expecting much, but that coleslaw is just perfect! Well cut cabbage, crunchy, fresh, and It's sweet and but not exaggerated, it hits the spot! 9/10 The homemade pickles were really good (coming from a person that isn't a big fan of pickles) 8/10 They say save the best for the last. THE SAUCE, I don't what they put in that sauce but that's one of the best sauces I have had with BBQ if not the best. I spent time talking to the owner for a little bit and it was great to hear that they opened their business so shortly ago and are putting out such amazing food. I ordered: 1/2 lb brisket, brisket sandwich, bean bake, and coleslaw. Each thing was absolutely wonderful; this includes the sauce and the pickled cucumbers and onions. I have eaten barbeque all over the country and cooked it for years. This place ranks right at the top!! Instead of syrupy, "same as the place down the street" sauces theirs are unique. The rubs and sauces paired well and were exceptional. The chopped brisket was juicy and full of flavor. No dry, bland, over-cooked meat here. The pulled pork was the same, juicy and flavorful. The business is new, and the owner is new to operating a food cart, so I'll cut him some slack. But it took a long time to get our order. The brisket was only so-so (not smoky at all), and the sauce was too sweet for it. BUT the sauce was perfect for the pork ribs. They're so good. And I got the broccoli salad, which was delicious. The street corn was great, too. With a little more experience,and maybe adjusting the pit to allow more smoke in while cooking, this will be a great spot. read more

I'm giving 4 stars because the other item I ordered, the Mexican street corn, was pretty mediocre in comparison to others I've had - even in Portland. It tasted like corn, hot oil, and cotija cheese. It's missing spices, Mayo/sour cream, etc. It was soaked with this red oil. If that can be improved, you'll really have me hooked! Customer service was great! There's a 3 rib option but I only wanted 2, so they accommodated that (I wish I had gotten 3 after tasting how good they are). Hard to find homey BBQ in the Hillsboro/Beaverton area. These guys make home recipes with some love. Had brisket for myself and asked for the fatty pieces. Good stuff. The woman half had the pork ribs and was happy with them. The Cole slaw was great, red cabbage and drsg. Broccoli salad was nice and fresh. The beans were a wonderful family recipe with a few different kinds in there. I would like to see collards thrown in the mix and suggested to the owner to explore. Cornbread would be cool too! So happy we found a gem of a BBQ place here in Beaverton/Tigard area. The menu is simple and we were able to mix and match different sides. We ordered the rib sandwich, 1/2 lb brisket, mexican street corn, broccoli salad, and the coleslaw. They were all good and tender with this sweet base taste without overcooking it or tasting dry. I had been working on a surprise 30th party for my boyfriend and Maria was so helpful, responsive, and came up with suggestions on food and portions that fit in my budget. The taste was out of this world, I had the ribs, pulls pork and brisket with coleslaw, cornbread and Mac & cheese and I had unending praise on how delicious this food was.
