I've been a loyal Philadelphia's customer since 1995 in Sellwood, long before 13 Virtues and "Drink…read moreMoore Beer" (LOL). I came in for a sandwich this week - my usual "Original" with high quality sliced ribeye, grilled onions and a fair amount of melted cheese. The bonus today was as I was leaving the manager asked "what did you have?" As I answered he offered me a bonus sandwich to-go that they had made for someone in error. This generous offer cemented my loyalty for life. I love Philadelphia's and will announce their praises from the rooftops of Canby.

The food smelled amazing however it did take an excruciating a long time to come out. We honestly thought we were gonna have to go up and see whether or not they had forgotten us. It took so long once we got the sandwich. There was plenty of food and we got the pepper cheesesteak and it was good like the meat was good. The peppers and mushrooms were good, but we did ask for additional mushrooms and they're very little in there. And in the scheme of things, they really wasn't that much inside for the sandwich and it was definitely lacking insult which of course could be me. As someone who knows Phillies from Philly I don't know. I still want to try them out for other sandwiches, but I don't know about the Philly.

Coasters has fantastic food and service is pretty good...most of the time…read more Unfortunately, of late there's been a significant dip in the service quality in the afternoons. Large groups of older folks are not well-behaved, and often moving tables around, moving people between tables, and the newer servers get lost, get pushed around, and management used to be very good at not tolerating this kind of BS. I am no spring chicken myself, but the entitled behavior and the refusal of management to stand up to people literally grabbing the server, not great, folks. The mega-tables that these folks move around also are obnoxiously loud and all the soundproofing on earth doesn't do much when there's 20 people moving tables around every 15 minutes. This has become consistent on weekday afternoons. I love the burgers. I love the garlic fries. I think the beer's well-priced and the happy hour is pretty good. The thing is...when you can't order a pint because the server can't even get to you, you have a problem. I'll be sticking to take-out for the near future during the afternoon. I'm a working person and letting a bunch of people who don't work shove your employees around is not a good plan. But in the evening, I'll be the first to sign up for a burger and a beer. I'm hoping that having addressed this with management in person and online that there will be some positive change and an improvement...but for now, gotta knock that star off.

I can't believe I've never reviewed this Portland staple before... ‍…read more My first time in years... I no longer live in Oregon. But I was in town with some time to kill, so naturally this was my lunch choice, and it did not disappoint. The ambiance of the place really sets the tone, and those coney dogs with meat sauce and onions just hit the spot perfectly. Nothing has changed in 40 years, save the price maybe. They still give you a card from a standard deck of cards to represent your order number when your food is ready. In my humble fat man's opinion, this very well could be the best coney dog west of the Mississippi. Prost!

We also got a junior burger to try I thought it was good to the extent that it was also soggy because of the watery sauce. Otherwise the burger was good I'd order without the sauce. The French fries were good reminded me of five guys. They also aren't stingy with their soda syrup so 10/10 for that. The service was great no complaints they were all polite and helpful. Was greeted upon entering and leaving. The decor is giving retro, I thought it was fun and I loved reading the story of the owner getting a loan for a friend they named a burger after "Rich Boy" 2 short Coney Island 1 junior burger 1 platter of fries 1 large Diet Coke Paid just under $21

We were able to sit wherever we wanted. We first chose the high seats and then moved to a lower table. The server was nice and attentive. I went in with the notion of ordering fish and chips or some sort of seafood; however, I was enticed by the prime rib, as I did not care for the type of fish they had available. I ordered the prime rib (med-well) with mashed potatoes and veggies. My friend ordered the fish and onion rings. I also ordered jalapeno hushpuppies. My friend really enjoyed her fish and onion rings. She was going to take some home for dinner, but there was nothing left to take home. My prime rib was over-heated and came out well-done and dry. I ate around the edges and picked at the potatoes. The first batch of hushpuppies that came out was still raw. The server said we were lucky cause we got a free mini corn dog. I thought we were until I ate it, and half of it was still frozen. The server took the hushpuppies back, and they cooked them a little longer. They were fully cooked when she brought them back, but they were missing one key element. There was no hint of jalapenos. You could see green specks but could not taste them. If I am ever in the area again, I will come back and try something else.
