The Flatliner

Going on a year later I am so happy we have this amazing chef in OC. She stays camped out in The Hive Taphouse but for us locals she is not out-of-reach. Don't be fooled by the lack of linen napkins. Melissa cooks like New York, Chicago, the heart of PDX, fine dining crammed in with that beautiful street food we love coming straight from the soul. She's a local food harvester. When you eat from her kitchen you support our local farms. She cares about these things and she slams out food that you can't stop eating. A year strong and we are still fans. I don't know what we did right to get her and OC has always been against the beautiful food cart nation but Melissa is winning or rather I should say, we are. Watch her menu on FB. We grab our food to go because we like eating Perky Pantry curled up in bed watching Rick and Morty but that's just us. You do Perky your way.

#perkypantry #cheesesteak #oregoncity #thehivetaphouse #pirogies #cobsalad Went to a cool little food cart in Oregon city at the hive tap house called perkypantryllc I got the cheesesteak sandwich- it was so good. The steak was thin and tender, the bun was soft and ordered strait from Philadelphia. The cheese was not your typical cheese that's on most cheesesteaks iv had ( whiz or provalon) it was her own beer cheese sauce and omg it was good. I it also came with grilled onions and I added hot cherry peppers. It came with your choice of sides (chips, garden Salad or I think potato salad). I wish there was fries or tator Tots as a side.. But back to the cheesesteak it was so Damn good. I also got an order of pirogies (polish dumplings). Now I'm part polish and my grandma use to make purifies so I know good ones. The order comes with 6. There medium size. They come fried in butter and sage with sour cream on top. The dough is really good and the potato cheese filling is yum. Very good pirogies.. We even got two dozen frozen to have for Easter, so that tells you we liked them. My mom got a cob salad with I think balsamic dressing. She loved the way every thing was cut up all uniform and easy to eat. The salad was very large and she said it was delicious.. If your in Oregon city anytime or just looking for new place to eat I recommend the perkypantryllc.

Pierogies, the OC Philly and Coleslaw

The best cheesesteak I've had. I've heard nothing but great things about The Perky Panty. I finally gave them a try tonight. The pierogies were good. I've never had them before so I don't have a reference but they were tasty. The Coleslaw was fresh, just the right amount of dressing. The meat and beer cheese were a great combo. We'll be going back for sure!

Inside pod convienence. Cozy and covered.

Inside the HIVE, a pod of good comfort food pared perfectly with the brews that are offered at the HIVE. Ever changing menu.

Great food, good vibes, and a very professional bar on the side adds extra points. I'll be back many more times.

Now while they don't have food coming out this establishment, there are several food carts in the lot and surrounding that you can find what you need. Back to the beer. They have quite a large selection of styles here. So much so I double checked with the bartender to ask if they brew all those styles or if they were hosting other breweries. Nope, all theirs. My wife and I are a sucker for a good west coast IPA so that's where we dabbled and found it to be brewed true to style. Nice and dank! Great seating options here, pretty typical interior but the exterior was super nice with great overhead heaters that came in clutch (in JUNE!!).

Adelina's Mexican Food…read more I absolutely adore this food cart through and through - and I can never get enough! Every single time I order from Adelina's, the food is fresh, incredibly flavorful, and made with so much care. There's a perfect balance of zest and spice in everything I've tried -- bold without ever being overpowering. The owners and staff deserve a shoutout on their own. They are genuinely kind, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do, and you can feel and taste that love and passion for their craft in every bite! The location is also a huge bonus. Being tucked into Corner 14 Food Carts in downtown Oregon City makes it the perfect stop -- grab food, go axe throwing, enjoy a beer at the bar, and explore the other carts... though honestly, Adelina's is always my top choice. Now let's talk food -- because WOW. The esquites are an absolute flavor bomb: creamy mayo, cotija cheese, tajín, and a slice of lime on top that you can squeeze fresh for that bright pop of citrus. It's indulgent, balanced, and so satisfying. Now: the underdog that everyone needs to try from Adelina's is their famous Tamales! I swear they are a major standout -- ONE OF THE BEST MADE AROUND PORTLAND! I mean the corn wrapping is perfect: not too thick, not too thin. Topped with crema and cotija, it's rich without feeling heavy. Don't even get me started about the flavor of the meat inside because the red sauce they make can use for their chicken inside the tamale... Unreal. I've also tried their beans and rice, plus the house guacamole (DO NOT SKIP ON THE GUAC; it reminds me of the table-side service guacamole we had in Puerto Vallarta) which is full of fresh vibrant flavor salted to perfection; it's finished with cilantro and lime for a fresh, clean bite. It's the perfect addition to literally anything on the menu. Anytime I'm feeling a little down or just need something filling that doesn't feel heavy or unhealthy, this is where I go. Adelina's always resets my day in the best way. If you haven't stopped by yet, please do -- or order pickup/delivery through DoorDash and taste for yourself and add another local staple to your family's favorite spots! There's something incredibly healing about food made with love, and this small local business truly knows what they're creating.

You need to take your luck and stop by and see if they open since their hours on Yelp are not accurate or current. I did not call the phone listed on Yelp, so I may need to do it next time. My first time there was about three weeks ago during lunch without looking for anything special. Since then, I stopped by between 2-4 pm, and they closed, so I am craving it! I also ordered the beignet and was not impressed since I still tasted the uncooked thick dough. I would order this again before giving my final take on it and other things on their menu. I loved their humor decors; they all made me giggle, looking at and reading them. They are conveniently located at the Corner 14 Food Pod with other carts with limited parking on the pavement area; otherwise, it's gravel underneath a bridge/overpass structure, so drive slowly. There are shaded sitting areas and an electronic fireplace for cold days.

My son chose to have the Alligator Nuggets! The redeeming factor here was that they were still tender. It seemed the oil was likely too hot, or overused and the breading was lightly burned. Either way they still had an okay taste, they were mostly missing that golden brown color that you hope for when getting breaded fried foods. The crawfish etouffee was pretty disappointing for us. The sauce/gravy to rice ratio was WAY off, essentially it was about a 2 inch tall pack of rice, and a drizzle of gravy. The gravy's seasoning was disappointingly spicy just to be spicy instead of having an even blend of flavor and space. Had the flavor punch been balanced with the spice level it would have at least tasted better, and felt better generally speaking. Lastly the crawfish were cut up into even tinier pieces, which made for a lack of protein in this dish. While the decoration outside the cart is fun and enticing, the food, and the personal experience were lacking. There was very little excitement in the truck, and seemingly a lack of passion/engagement that we've experienced at other food trucks that change the overall experience for us. We had fun trying out a food that has deep roots in our family, and may come back to see if we can get a redemption review in the future.

The smoky bang bang dipping sauce was wonderful and I wish I'd asked for more (next time I will!) because it was the perfect compliment to the brisket. My friend ordered the same thing but with the pulled pork; she said it was very good, too. Church of Smoke BBQ is located in the Canby Beer Library, one of 7 food trucks. Despite being on the messy side, the bun held together really well, and it was quite delicious -- definitely take the fork that they offer you when you pick up your food, LOL.
