    Savor Yucateco food cart
    Don T.

This was my first experience at the south 82nd Ave food cart pod. I do have to say the food cart pod is definitely the nicest food cart pod in Portland. Very clean. Nice tables set at least 6 feet apart. I do what I usually do at a food cart pod, order one item from several cards to make up my dinner. I ordered the Trio Pauchucos from the Saber Yucateco cart and was not disappointed. Do this. Order the Trio Pauchucos, get one of each meat. The jalapeño sauce was excellent. Very tasty, very well run cart. I will dine there again

Cheese empanada, a asada panuchos, and a asada taco

This is my first time trying Sabor Yucataco PDX and I really liked it! I ordered a cheese empanada, a asada taco, and a asada panucho. I'm familiar with empanadas and tacos (which were both great), but I have never had a panucho before. It's similar to a taco I would say, but the tortilla is pressed with beans inside and topped off with lettuce and onions. I would love to try more Yucatán food and this is the spot!

We decided it would be a good idea to fill our tummies with some lunch before getting to camp and having to set everything up. The lady running it is pretty friendly, though she was out of quite a lot of things on the menu sadly (I couldn't get the sweet potato fries or the flavor of sauce I wanted... jeez). Pricing was reasonable, especially for canned soda and bottled water (just a buck!). I noticed as she was preparing that the Mac n cheese was just frozen Stoffers... lol. And the sauces are just Cattlemen's, but on the menu they've been "rebranded" as the food truck's own thing. Sorta lame/lazy but honestly I can't hate too much on her for that; the world is tough right now, so if she can just repackage yummy prepared food for others and make a decent living, more power to her. Everything tasted good ultimately. The wait time for preparation was acceptable. But my pulled pork sandwich was decidedly lukewarm. Dunno why. Could've used a lot more cabbage. There were a couple of tables with umbrellas around outdoors to lounge and eat, which was nice. The owner even wandered over while we were eating to ask how everything was.

After asking for a sample of the clam chowder which he should have offered after I asked how thin of a consistency it was. Didn't ask if my order was to-go, so he was miffed when I asked him to put it on a container. The Tidal Boar'd oysters were so salty, they were almost inedible. I only ate them , because they were $4 each. They were beautiful, but akin to a salt lick. I don't know if that was the trout roe, or what. Needed way less salt, more acidity, and the heat wasn't there at all. Visual stunning, but horrendously salty. The 3 pc rockfish was pretty good. Clean, , fresh, and flakey. Seasoned well. Good fries, too. The clam chowder was different. Potatoes cooked through, full of flavor. All that for $42+tip. Might be back, if the server from yesterday isn't there. Might not be back at all, too many places to get the same thing with way better service. Never informed we ordering that I wouldn't be able to take the oysters to go. Don't know if that's posted. Good fish, indifferent service. Nary a thank you , whatsoever. Sucky service.
