    Huckleberry milkshake
    Mike B.

Mike's is a small chain of Drive-in like restaurants in the Portland area. We discovered a couple of years ago that Mike's has huckleberry milkshakes available for a period of time in the summer. Since we both love huckleberries we always have to make a quick stop when visiting the area if they are available. Before we left North Carolina we called ahead and learned that Berry Fest begins June 1st of each year and they offer milkshakes made with strawberry, raspberry and marionberry. Huckleberry Berry Fest starts July 1st. This visit we decided to stop at the Oregon City location. We arrived about 3pm and although there were several cars parked outside, the inside seating area was pretty much empty. We opted to order at the counter and have a seat at one of the interior tables instead of ordering online, picking up at the window and eating in our car. We were hungry from flying a majority of the day so in addition to the milkshake we each ordered hamburgers, one bun less option which was served on lettuce and had various veggies. The burgers tasted yummy but the tater tots tasted off to me. The best part was for sure the milkshakes...always delicious! If you have never had a Huckleberry or a Huckleberry milkshake, this is something you need to try. They are absolutely amazing!

You can't beat $1.49 for an ice cream cone! My kids love to come here for the swirl come. It's our go to spot for ice cream. It's become a traditional trip for end of school celebration. Their parfaits are amazing as well. The tin roof sunde is packed with fudge and peanuts! It's a dessert fave!

I think this establishment is a little above average. 3.5 is more accurate. Ok menu Cool atmosphere Nostalgic scene with drive in parking, order from your car ( via QR Code/app), pick up window, picnic tables, and cheap ice cream cones. The people are a little dry. I had fish and chips( swapped for fried mushrooms) with a side fried clam strips. The freshly fried cod was not seasoned. The mushrooms were tasty. The calm strips were muh and cold. My hubby had a burger and fries. He gave it a 3/5. Not the best, not the worst.

Bacon cheese burger, shrimp, and onion rings. The burger is a classic example of a Mayo burger, though you may not remember it. It's good, not exceptional, but fine. The onion rings were soggy greasy. The flavor was fine, but too greasy. The shrimp, I will not forget. This is some outstanding frying of breaded shrimp. The shrimp was near perfect, the only shortcoming was I didn't order enough. The cocktail sauce they brought with it, was pretty good lots of horseradish, tomato goodness. It's a classic drive up and sit in your vehicle type restaurant. The service was quick. The food was fresh, everything looked clean, the people were nice, parking was easy and I'm in a big truck. This place is definitely worth the shrimp. If I'm in Oregon city, and craving shrimp, this is where I'm heading. Can't wait to try the rest of the seafood.

The burger, I had the bacon cheeseburger, and they do not scrimp on bacon so that's awesome, the rest was average, it was a good burger, but not necessarily memorable. The onion rings, great flavor, not a great fry, they were slightly soft, and really over greasy. The fried shrimp, this is why we are at 4 stars, these were amazing! The shrimp were crispy, tasty, and the cocktail sauce was perfect. Cheap soft serve cones! Decent ice cream, not overtly sweet, and for 1.49, it was great. The people were super friendly, easy ordering online and pick up inside, and the inside is super cute with classic diner decorations. Good place, may go back for the fried shrimp, but not much else. Also a little pricey for this type of fare in my opinion.

Have been coming here since I was a kid and it's still the same ol reliable Mike's drive-in. The burgers are big and delicious, fries are fresh, my only quip is charging 40c for a small container of dipping sauce. Besides that, eating outside is fun in the summer and the service is always very friendly. :)

Seems like a decent ice cream place - but the burger was straight pink inside. Tried to wait in line for another, after a few minutes we gave up and left. However the kids loved the $.99 cones!

The restaurant was cute and retro. The food on the other hand was mediocre and probably won't return again.

Staff was cleaning as they went along. Service was okay. Staff wasnt as welcoming as we felt but our drinks were topped off and we didnt need anything. Menu is a good variety so that was nice having options. We called ahead because we couldn't find the childrens menu and they let us know that they did have one so thats a plus since most establishments dont bother posting their kid's menu. Food was okay. My husband got the ozz sandwhich and it looked good but it was wetter than he anticipated. We learned i like rye bread though, so thats a plus. I ordered the sliders with a side of beer mac but the portion sizes was smaller than I thought it would be? I misread or misinterpreted as hawaiian rolls as in buns but not as in dinner rolls. The beer cheese mac was thick. It was good but had a cloying type of consistency. Tots and fries were good. The kid's chicken tenders and fries were just that. Chicken tenders and fries, so no surprise there. Overall for 2 meals, 1 kids, and 2 sodas, we paid about $60. A bit higher than we guessed for a bar but we enjoy supporting local when we can especially when we know they're active in the community.

Review: Legit Smashburgers and a Gem of an Atmosphere!…read moreRating: We had a fantastic Saturday night at Poundtown Smashburger! The cart is perfectly situated at the end of the pod near a cozy outdoor heater, which was exactly what we needed for a chilly January evening. As the wife of a "social media burger celebrity," I can confirm these are legit smashburgers. For those who don't know, a proper smashburger isn't just a flat patty; it's a ball of fresh beef smashed once onto a screaming-hot griddle to trigger the Maillard reaction. This creates those signature "lacey" crispy edges and a deep caramelized crust while locking all the juices in the center. Our order was spot on: Double Smash with Bacon and Jalapeño: Perfectly seasoned with that aggressive sear we look for. OG Burgers: At $4.00, these are an absolute steal in 2026. No customizations needed--they are perfect as-is. The Bun: A major standout! It was a soft, locally sourced brioche that held up beautifully to the juicy patties without getting soggy. Beyond the food, the atmosphere at The Beer Library is incredible. The renovation of the old library is stunning--it's modern and cozy with a fantastic selection of brews. It truly feels like a neighborhood gem. All in all, a great experience and great service --we will definitely be back!

We were able to sit wherever we wanted. We first chose the high seats and then moved to a lower table. The server was nice and attentive. I went in with the notion of ordering fish and chips or some sort of seafood; however, I was enticed by the prime rib, as I did not care for the type of fish they had available. I ordered the prime rib (med-well) with mashed potatoes and veggies. My friend ordered the fish and onion rings. I also ordered jalapeno hushpuppies. My friend really enjoyed her fish and onion rings. She was going to take some home for dinner, but there was nothing left to take home. My prime rib was over-heated and came out well-done and dry. I ate around the edges and picked at the potatoes. The first batch of hushpuppies that came out was still raw. The server said we were lucky cause we got a free mini corn dog. I thought we were until I ate it, and half of it was still frozen. The server took the hushpuppies back, and they cooked them a little longer. They were fully cooked when she brought them back, but they were missing one key element. There was no hint of jalapenos. You could see green specks but could not taste them. If I am ever in the area again, I will come back and try something else.
