Happy Valley Food Carts yeah, I might be a little biased... I live here. And to the three of you…read moretrying to triangulate my exact location based on this review relax, it's not that serious. Let's get into it. Right off I-205 and just a short cruise up into Happy Valley, this spot feels like the food cart scene finally put on a clean shirt and got its life together. It's modern, it's polished, and it sits in a neighborhood where you don't feel like you need to keep your head on a swivel. No chaos, no nonsense just good eats and a relaxed vibe. What makes this place stand out? Options. A ridiculous amount of them. This isn't a "hope everyone agrees on tacos" situation. This is a "you get what you want, I get what I want, and we all win" kind of place. I've officially made it my mission few days left to try as many carts as humanly possible. Call it a food tour, call it a personal challenge, call it reckless ambition... I'm doing it anyway. We kicked things off at K-Pop Korean Hawaiian BBQ-because when you roll with a buddy from Hawaii, that's basically law. And let me tell you, it delivers. Bold flavors, solid portions, and that perfect fusion vibe that just works. Honestly, it set the bar high and that's saying something, because every cart here seems to bring their A-game. The setup is dialed in too. Covered seating for those rainy Oregon days, indoor space when winter decides to show up with attitude, and open-air areas when you want to sip a little wine or knock back a cold brew like a civilized adult. Surrounded by trees and mountain views, it almost tricks you into thinking you planned something outdoorsy... when really, you just came to eat. And here's the kicker it's clean. Like, noticeably clean. The carts look new, the area is well kept, and the whole place feels intentional. Not slapped together. Not gritty. This is food carting with standards. If you're local, you already know. If you're passing through, put this at the top of your list. And if you're doing a full-on food truck tour? Start here. Set the tone right. Because trust me after this, when you head back downtown and start dodging zombies and chaos... you'll miss this place real quick.

Love me some Happy Valley Station!…read more This is like the upscale farmers market of food carts- park your car, enjoy the landscaping, and check it all out. Dog friendly, Kid friendly, 100-year old friendly. Lots of clean and tidy indoor and outdoor cafeteria-style seating to choose from. Carts are covered from the rain, but outside. Beer and Espresso served and paid for inside. Restrooms are accessible and inside. Carts will give you a buzzer to notify you when the order is ready, so you can go walk around or find a seat while you wait. It was very busy this particular day, but no problem, all the carts seemed to be prepared for that! Just a lot of friendly faces who understood we needed to drool over all the menus before arriving somewhere. We landed on Premier Japanese Hibachi and loved all the flavor. Some of the freshest shrimp and yakisoba I have ever had. We also had the grilled shrimp and steak. TIP: don't forget to ask how you want your steak because it is made to order! The sauces on the side were perfect for dipping and sharing. Unfortunately, the portions did feel small for $18 a plate. Also, how to order water with your meal was confusing- another worker said just go inside. Eventually I saw signs that water is free with purchase or $1, but you would think it would be obvious. Overall, Premier Japanese Hibachi and everything else was a hit, 10/10, TY!

"Let me know if you have any questions!". We had questions about her menu items, and she answered them nicely and thoroughly, in detail. Okay, so we order two things: the S3 and the Spicy Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen, and here's what U think about each: Tonkotsu Ramen: -The Meat doesn't have a huge initial, impactful taste, but the flavor settles in a couple seconds after you bite it and it's a very soft, warming feeling. -The Broth is where the spice is, and it's not like "oh my mouth is on fire" it's the type of spice that hits you in the back of the throat, so it's bearable but I couldn't chug it personally, I had to take sips which is nice for someone who devours their food like there's no tomorrow (like me). -The Noodles are.. just your typical Ramen noodles, nothing special to add there but nothing bad to say at all! -The Egg, although not marinated in soy sauce like some places do, was cooked well. The inside was soft and gooey, but the white was fully cooked. I have no complaints! -The Mushrooms added a nice texture to the noodles and the overall dish, and worked to make it even more satisfactory. The S3: -I don't have much to say because my cousin ordered it and I only had a few bites, but the veggies were cooked nicely... -The big boom about it was the noodles. If I had to describe it, I would say it's like.. an Orange Chicken type of Tater Tot, it was really unique and fun to eat. Next time I go, it'll be hard to decide what to order.. Okay, don't just take my word for it, go see for yourself! いただきます！

Yummy chili, just make sure to eat it fresh…read more Been having to go to Happy Valley a bit and have been hitting the food carts and thought, why not a burger this time. We got the burger, fries, and an order of chili fries. The burger was good, nice and juicy. The fries were battered curly fries with good seasoning. For the chili fries, it was the same curly fries and the chili had no beans and was a bit drier than I'm use to, says the lady that only has canned chili. It was cleary house made and very good. I will say, it doesn't reheat very well so eat your chili first. One thing I will note and this is nothing on the shop: But make sure to ask about what fries they are using. In the picture for the chili fries it is normal fries and I (again a me problem) assumed that was what they would have. Only reason I note this is bc I can't have a lot of gluten and battered curly fries are a no go for me.

The first one I had I couldn't believe how legit it was. Went back two days later just to be sure I wasn't dreaming. Nope, it was just as good. The tortillas really help make it stand out, chewy but crisped up perfectly on the outside. The Pastor and Chicken are both solid, though I do a wish there was a little pineapple in the Pastor. The Street tacos are just fine. Small, but as simple as they should be with just the white onions, cilantro, and accompanying lime wedge. Extra appreciate that they're only $3/each. That's all I've tried so far, but will be a regular visitor for the burrito alone. Their 'dining area' leaves a lot to be desired, but I appreciate that they have a covered area to order and wait in the winter months. Service has been good. The hot sauces are great as well. Also appreciate that they use paper and aluminum foil for the tacos and burritos, rather than more single use plastic. Though I still think they use some. Overall super legit taco truck I highly recommend.

The Kracked Crab has long been my go-to spot for seafood, especially for special occasions like…read moreanniversaries, birthdays, Mother's Day, and "push-present/s" -after birthing two of my babies. Their generous portions of crab boil--complete with potatoes, corn, sausage, and egg--have always made it feel like a great value, especially compared to other crab boil restaurants. Their Cajun butter sauce remains outstanding and is still one of my favorites. Previously located at the Happy Valley food carts, The Kracked Crab has since moved to a new location. Unfortunately, it's not immediately obvious they're in a food court setting, as the building signage only says "Sunny Sides," which made it a bit difficult to find. This was my first visit to their new location, and while I was genuinely excited to return with my daughter for a pre-movie dinner, the experience fell short of expectations. We already knew what we wanted to order--two #3 Legilicious meals--but upon arrival, there seemed to be confusion at the counter with the two groups ahead of us. The ordering process felt disorganized and lacked a sense of urgency. It appeared that the main staff member was working alone, possibly being trained by a manager or owner who was intermittently present. Our food took over 45 minutes to be prepared, which was surprising given the limited number of customers. This delay caused us to rush through our meal in order to make our movie on time. When the food finally arrived, the presentation and quality were noticeably different from past visits. The crab appeared less fresh, with some pieces looking freezer-burnt, and while the portion seemed large at first glance, much of it consisted of thinner crab legs, and a little watery. That said, the Cajun butter sauce was still excellent--rich, flavorful, and as memorable as always. A small bright spot was the care taken in packing our leftovers. The owner kindly ensured everything was sealed well so the buttery sauce wouldn't spill in the car. I especially appreciate this because I enjoy repurposing the potatoes and sausage the next morning for breakfast. Despite this less-than-stellar experience, The Kracked Crab is still my favorite seafood spot. I sincerely hope they're able to return to their previous standards in both crab quality and service speed. I'll definitely be giving them another chance.

I ordered the OG tacos and they were great! The tenders have the perfect ratio of breading to chicken, they're slaw is great which I find hard to come across at most restaurants nowadays as everyone tries to do something weird instead of keeping it classic, sweet, saucy, and crunchy. The buffalo sauce had the perfect amount of heat to it, and the blue cheese really brings the whole thing together. My boyfriend got the Scarface, he's a huge fan of the crack sauce, and the sandwich is huge! Once again perfectly breaded chicken, and A TON of onion rings. So many onion rings he couldn't even finish them all. He loved the slaw (he's super picky about it too). The bread also managed to hold the whole sandwich together which was impressive in itself. The lady who runs the cart (Christina herself possibly?) is super cool and kind. It seems like she's always there working and really cares about the quality of the food coming out which you can totally taste in the food.
