    Tortilla Soup
    Ari C.

I eat here pretty often, and they continue to surprise me with delicious dishes when I need it most. My wife got sick with a bad cold, so we got their Tortilla Soup. It's incredible. Full of flavor and chunks of chicken, cheese, and avocado! We also really love their cheese enchiladas or Enchilada Suiza on a normal day, too! also, their pricing is pretty decent for a restaurant in this economy

Today I tried a new dish (to me), Camarones Monterey, shrimp wrapped in bacon. They had me at bacon, but with the shrimp, magnifíco!

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area! Welcoming and attentive service, delicious food, solid drink selection, beautiful decor all at a terrific price. What's not to love?

    "Chorizo" completely disgusting

Worst "chorizo" ever! it wasn't even chorizo at all it was just low quality ground pork! It didn't have any of the spices, it was just brown chunks. I just wanted a breakfast burrito which apparently they don't have and served me some weird burrito filled with ground pork and slathered in sauce. I wish they just said we don't have chorizo I would have ordered something else! The salsa was completely bland, no heat whatsoever. Chips were super thick and stale. I ate the beans and rice which were actually quite good but the burrito is the only thing I ordered and it was inedible.

Small, busy, restaurant Friendly service Great food Easy parking We stopped in on a Friday evening for dinner. As expected, it was a busy time and tables were full. We were offered to wait a little while for a table to open or to take a seat in the bar. We opted for the bar seating and took the last available table in there. Despite being busy the staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks and our meals when chips and salsa came to the table. The salsa is very good! We tried the chicken fajitas, chili Colorado and a bowl of tortilla soup. Everything was served hot and steaming. The tortillas seemed to be fresh and soft (flour). All the meats were nicely cooked and flavorful. It was a great meal! The restaurant appears clean and nice. The prices are very reasonable. We'll be back soon to try other dishes.

    Asada Burrito Asada

Service was so quick. Got seated right away and two baskets of chips and salsa before our entrees came. Entrees were really good size portion and really tasty. I had the asada burrito and the steak was very well cooked, not chewy at all. And my husband got the #9 and he really enjoyed it as well. Very cute tile decorations everywhere. Highly recommend

Got the super burrito and it is huge!! Asada filling. Came with pretty much everything ready, just poured salsa on it! Delicious and was enough for two meals

Me and my bestie Oscar came here after he did my hair. Oscar is Mexican so if he tells me that a Mexican restaurant is legit, I trust him. When we went in it was packed so they are doing something right. The thing is, I remember coming to this place before with Oscar and had the chicken enchiladas with the mole sauce and remember thinking to myself, this is just ok. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. This place is located on the main drag off 99E in Milwaukie, well, actually the address is technically in Portland but it's way out there where there are no good restaurants. My ceviche was the perfect portion size for lunch. There were plenty of shrimp, a whole avocado, but it was salty as hell. Even my margarita with salt wasn't that salty. It was edible, but just barely. The margarita was great. I'm sure I'll be back again because Oscar likes it. Maybe I'll try the tacos. I think it would be pretty hard to fuck up tacos. 2020 - Review # 15

This place is incredible! The staff is beyond accommodating, kind, helpful, and overall a very loving family restaurant. My Father unexpectedly passed away in October of 2024. He loved this restaurant and often went. Many of his co workers also frequented it. My sister and I decided to have a casual family gathering in December of 2024 to see some of our dad's side of the family. The staff was able to accommodate us all and many kids perfectly. The food and drinks are delicious and prices are great too. They let us bring flowers, candles and a large picture of my dad. I'm so grateful to them for hosting us and allowing us to remember our dad in a restaurant he loved! That felt special and was important to my family. I can't remember the names of the 2 servers who helped us, I want to say Ivan and I can't remember the other ones name but all the staff was wonderful. I highly recommend. 10/10 Ivan and Gabriel were our servers and went above and beyond to accommodate my family. All the servers and staff were amazing and helpful but these two were truly wonderful. I will never forget them.

El Tap burrito with rice and beans on the side- yum!

I'm giving four stars- really solid B + for food, atmosphere and service. Typical American Mexican food served in a nice setting. We shared the mixed fajitas- chicken, shrimp and steak. Plenty for two of us without doing the "for two" option which gets you another plate of rice, beans, sour cream and guacamole. My son had the El Tap burrito which is a loaded burrito with the works and his girlfriend had the street tacos which looked yummy. Recommend!

    Chicken Fajitas

Odd location as it is hidden in the back of a small shopping complex. Definitely a place you have to know about to find. I will say that my expectations were let down on this one as I was recommended to try this place. Let's just say If bland had a name. I ordered 1/2 Chicken, 1/2 steak Fajitas as pictured. This is my go-to order for most Mexican restaurants I visit. Being from LA & visiting Mexico frequently, I have high standards when it comes to Mexican food. They serve 2 different house salsa's & chips. One mild salsa & one spicy (which was not spicy & I'm white)lol. The Fajita's came out sizzling as they should but were probably the most bland fajitas I've ever had! I also ordered a chicken/steak combo fajitas & mostly got vegetables & small pieces of chicken. Also, the chicken pieces had an odd texture & shape (reminded me more of something you would get served at a Chinese restaurant). I am used to fajita meat being in whole strips when it comes to fajitas. I feel like some restaurants load their fajitas with vegetables instead of meat & that was the case here. Their Pico De Gallo looked less than unappealing. I was happy I was able to sub for Black beans as some Mexican restaurants I have been to do not serve them. Besides the food, the staff were friendly & the service was good.

Gross brown sweet mole. No spices or complexities. Please get a new mole recipe or at least something not from the can
    Regan G.

I typically come here and order the chicken fajita salad. Big, lots of flavor. Today I decided to try their mole chicken. Big disappointment. The mole sauce is important in this dish. They need to go back and use a new recipe. It's sweet, runny, gross. Then, the put fajita chicken strips rather than shredded or breast. Really disappointed because I like good mole. Kids food and drinks were great. Please make your own good mole or take it off the menu. It's insulting to sell this sauce.

The woman who assisted us was very friendly and gave us a take home menu so we could call in our order instead of waiting. We were home quickly and got started. The asada burrito was very well seasoned, great ratio of asada and other ingredients and great price for the size. The carnitas quesadilla was good but nothing exceptional. I was happy I could get 2 different proteins with the taquitos but unfortunately the meat inside was overdone and I could not tell what I was eating. The outside had a great crisp but the inside left me wondering what it was. I would definitely come back for the asada burrito and the quesadilla. I'd also try some of the other items that sounded great.
