The ambiance of the place really sets the tone, and those coney dogs with meat sauce and onions just hit the spot perfectly. Nothing has changed in 40 years, save the price maybe. They still give you a card from a standard deck of cards to represent your order number when your food is ready. In my humble fat man's opinion, this very well could be the best coney dog west of the Mississippi. Prost!

I had just got there and the guy had just asked me what I wanted. A woman had approached, and the guy literally shooed me aside. She was holding a sandwich with bite marks... saying that a grill cheese sandwich that was ordered was not acceptable, weirdly textured and seemed 'steamed'. She said they were in a hurry, she wanted a refund, and she did not have time to wait. Multiple people had to be called over. I was glad that the counter was empty because I could at least lean against the front. The temperature outside was dropping those so, FYI - your friends with chronic pain and/or inflammation like MS, lupus anything... rapid temperature drops or rains etc... we go into incapable of moving VERY fast. He was super apologetic by the time I got to the window. I ordered and it was pretty fast. I definitely appreciated being able to sit in my car right there. I was also very glad I got in when I did, because there was suddenly a line of people ordering as I had started eating my food! I had never had a hamburger before that had zero flavor... I ordered the mushroom swiss and there was not an ounce of seasoning which was pretty insane, because it looked amazing! Those sweet potato waffle fries are out of this world! It was sweet that they gave me a cookie... I guess that's, maybe a thing? It was nice to remember I had it (nice that it came packaged so that I could tuck it in my purse for later) during the symphony also.

Outright Rip-Off and Dishonest…read more Today the Briskets & Gravy food truck came to our neighborhood and this was one of the worst food truck experiences we've ever had. We ordered a 2-meat plate, which clearly states on the menu that the brisket portion is 1/4 lb (4 oz) plus two ribs. When we received our food, the brisket looked noticeably small, so we weighed it at home with a kitchen scale - it came out to only 3 oz, a full 25% less than what we paid for. We went back politely to ask about the discrepancy. Their response was shocking: They flatly denied any mistake, insisting that "all brisket portions are pre-packaged and always at least 4 oz." When we showed them our scale and weighed it in front of them, they started making excuses about "moisture loss" instead of apologizing. We then asked them to weigh an uncut packaged brisket piece, which came out to 5.4 oz, clearly proving that they cut down a larger pre-portioned piece before serving us, directly contradicting their claim. Even with proof in front of them, they continued to argue and showed zero accountability. Only after they realized they were caught did they reluctantly admit "a mistake" and offer compensation with no genuine apology or professionalism. Given their dishonest portioning + combative attitude + refusal to take responsibility, we chose not to eat the food, returned the food as it was, and requested a refund. We also documented everything with photos as evidence. If you don't want to be shorted on portions, gaslit, or treated like you don't know what you're talking about - DO NOT COME!

Ordered a sweet tea, which I thought was included in the combo, but got charged for 2 extra drinks instead ($3 x2). So they subbed it for a brisket chili (which turned out to be my favorite out of everything, so kinda evens out? ‍). Just confirm everything before paying, I guess. Food turned out to be pretty decent overall. It was enough food for 2 people, even without the chili. Brisket was a good size, chicken was boneless and had a good flavor. My partner said the cornbread was fine, but it had a slight flavor that was unexpected in it. I wouldn't get the mac and cheese again though, because the flavor was more butter/fatty than cheesy. The chili was actually pretty good, though. Out of everything, that might be what I'd buy again.

They have a few tables outside, on a nice summer day it would be a nice place for lunch. Parking. There's no real parking for this areas since it's in busy street, so you'll have to park a block or two away most of the time, but it's not a big deal. Overall it's a good place and if I happen to find myself in the area, wanting a burger, I don't see why I wouldn't go there again.
