Went there for an early dinner with some friends. One of our friends had been there before and liked it. I've never really had a full pint of cider that I enjoyed before but I found one there! A friend had gotten a flight and I ended up getting one of those ciders. It had a wonderful berry flavor with some apple in there too. We also ordered some food. We had a pretzel with a fondue sauce the fish tacos and the dirty Mac and Cheese. The service was really good considering how busy they were. I thought the wait staff was very attentive. The food was pretty good. Really liked the fondue sauce that came with the pretzel. The tacos were good but lacking in seasoning. The dirty mac and cheese was good but I thought the barbecue sauce that went with the pulled pork was too sweet and effected the taste of the dish. The place itself is layed out nicely with lots of seating inside and some outside seating as well. I think I'd be back for the cider and a pretzel. read more

We had a great time at happy hour this evening! Our waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable and explained all about which ciders are limited batched, only available at the tap room, partnerships, etc. Service overall was really great, restaurant was clean, and everyone was very attentive and on top of it. We both got a tasting flight and really enjoyed getting to try 6 different types of cider. The pumpkin flavored cider was a great seasonal choice and our favorite was the Marionberry Mosaic. My least favorite was the Stray Cider. Food-wise it was good. We shared the fish tacos which were tasty, but I prefer mine grilled and not fried. My friend liked her salad and French fries. I liked the chicken tender and soft pretzel with fondue that I ordered. We also ordered the pulled pork nachos, but were too full to eat them. Our experience at Portland Cider Co. this week was so good that we came back twice in 4 days. We're in town for the week for some veterinary stuff, and staying half a mile from the taproom for Portland Cider. Our stay was during a heatwave, but because we had the doggo we needed to sit outside. The team at the cidery, Kayla & Emily, were absolutely amazing and took the beat care of us. We had some excellent bevies and tasty food, and were encouraged to come back for Pizza Day (50% off select pizzas with a pint of cider on Wednesdays). So we came back on Wednesday, sat outside, and had the best evening. Kayla, Emily, and Cole provided S-Tier customer service and hospitality to us and our little doggo. The ciders continued to be a hit and the pizzas were huge! This was also Portland Burger Week and they were slammed. Through all of the business and busy-ness they stayed composed and attentive to their guests. We hope to return to the area for future weekend getaways and will stop at the cidery first. I've enjoyed their ciders for quite a while so we came here for a drink and a meal. The service was a little on the slower side, but it seemed like they had a big event thing going on. It wasn't awful service or anything and our server was very nice, but when my partner wants to leave he doesn't like waiting around so long. Once he got up to ask for to-go boxes our server knew we were ready to leave and got us out the door. They have several ciders to choose from with rotationals as well as a couple beer taps. The food itself was really good. The sandwich we got on special had so much flavor. It may look kind of small, but it was pretty thick and filling. Their fries are terrific battered style with a great dipping sauce. Wish my partner like cider more because this is a pretty chill spot. Just don't let the industrial area fool you. read more

Let me start by saying this used to be one of our favorite spots, easily 5 stars, and the fact it was close to Happy Valley area but at the level of other amazing Portland spots was so wonderful. We hadn't been in a while and decided to stop in again and had to find out the hard way that things had changed quite a bit. The cider was amazing as always! But the first thing we noticed that prices had gone up. Whatever, they were quite a steal before and the food was so good (before) that we were totally fine supporting the place. But then the food came out and not only had prices gone up, but the food quality in both taste and ingredient had definitely gone down. Had a burger before that was one of the better burgers I've ever had that was clearly freshly made and seasoned. This time it was re-branded as a "smash burger" but really it was just a tiny burger (like really small) and tasted like generic food service meat. Unfortunately the pizza slice we had was super off as well. It literally had a smell to it. Like a dusty or old or "off" smell. It was weird, have never had pizza that smelled. It honestly also seemed like some of the pepperonis had been microwaved. The ranch was still amazing though. The nice thing was they at least gave us a deep discount when we mentioned it was off. They have really great customer service here and the people here are always super nice. But before the food was some of the best around, super freshly made and seasoned and flavored. I decided to try the Portland Cider Company tasting room as a way to kill some time while my car was being worked on at a nearby mechanic. I was greeted warmly when I entered and had no difficulty finding room at the bar. The bartender welcomed me at helped me navigate both the food and cider menus. I ordered a Fried Banger off of the happy hour menu that came with apple mustard and a dill pickle. It was nothing short of fantastic. I'm surprised it's not on their main menu. Still hungry and thirsty after dinner at an expensive Asian fusion and cocktail bar, (Has that ever happened to you?!?) we stopped at the Portland Cider taproom for dessert and a couple of pints. There are lots of interesting ciders to choose from, but I love their Original Gold and I can't get it where I live in Arizona. It's so apple-ee and fresh, and it won a gold metal award in England for the best cider in the world! Let's start with the bad to get that out of the way. They did not have enough plates so only one of us got a plate. The other person did not get a plate but just ate over a napkin, that's it! Everything else was absolutely wonderful. They have 14 ciders on the flight menu and two had ran out so between him and I we were able to try the remaining 12 ciders. We got the Marguerite pizza and it honestly looked like it had been burnt, but it was absolutely fantastic. The pizza crust had perfect texture, it was not too thin, it was not too thick, the basil had so much flavor and the olive oil was not overwhelming. We saved our crust to sop up all the pan drippings at the end, so nothing went to waste. The environment is actually quiet, which is so strange because I was expecting a sport bar kind of feeling. It's extremely family friendly, there is a TV playing sports, but I did not hear any sound from it, there was music playing quietly at an appropriate level so you can still socialize, there were many children there and none of them Were going wild and all were very well behaved. The menu is an interesting variety, there truly is something for everybody. They do sell their ciders onsite, already canned and ready to go, but many folks do not know you can have anything on tap canned for you as well. They will can anything on tap for you to take home in a 19 ounce and it will be shelf stable for about 10 days. read more

Made it out to Portland Cider Company's location out in Clackamas. They have two other locations (Portland and Beaverton). We dropped in on a Saturday evening (8:30pm). The inside is huge with a cute outdoor area. There's also a bunch of boardgames by the bathrooms. 14 ciders on tap along with cider infused cocktails, hot mulled cider and a couple beer/wine options. Cans are $4.49 to $6.10 USD. They also have a daily happy hour (3:00-5:00pm, last hour before close). - Flight ($10.00 USD for 6) - cranberry mule, strawberry pineapple, squeeze play, cinnamon roll, prickly punch and Santa's sauce. Flavours were decent but nothing stood out. Favourite of the bunch were the cranberry mule (nice tartness) and prickly prunch. read more

Did some exploring after work yesterday I've always heard of the Portland Cider Company, but never really looked into visiting one of their locations. What a hidden gem, we visited the location in Clackamas not your typical area for a brewhouse, but we really liked it because there was ample parking and it was not busy with people all around. The staff they had on hand were very attentive and very nice, you don't find a lot of places nowadays, with good service. Highly recommend doing their flight of different ciders, their happy hour menu is amazing. Prices are really good and the portions are more than I expected. If you're in the area or want to make a destination trip, I think you will be amazingly surprised. We had their Cider Fondue, Thai beef dish, and their Margherita pizza .... ;-) read more

Driving to this location for the first time in the dark I was thinking my friends were sending me off to get murdered. It's located in an industrial area, way outside Portland. I'm also not a cider drinker, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised when walking in. It was spacious and there is a game room in the back. Our server was so patient and kind. She took the time to ask me questions about flavors I like and brought me numerous samples until I found one that I enjoyed. Like I said, I'm not a big fan of cider, so don't go by my review. We love coming here for date night! We ordered the huckleberry lemonade and the bramble barrel and both were delicious. We ordered the asparagus to share as an appetizer and a pizza to split. We come in a few times every season to taste chef Vinnie's asparagus/Brussel sprout/arugula creations, I was so excited to see it on the menu! What we got was a charred, hard to chew asparagus with very little parm, lemon or flavor. We asked if the chef has changed and it turns out it did. The pizza was okay. I stay nearby when traveling for work in the area, and this has become a favorite after work/dinner spot for me. Some of the best ciders I've had. Love the spicy ones, especially the key lime habanero on tap. I've only recently had food here, and I've been impressed. On my last visit, chef Vinnie came out and asked how things were which was appreciated. His housemade chili flakes were perfect with pizza, and he brought fresh Parmesan and percorino for a topping. The place is located in the very very back of a warehouse business area, so at first you will wonder if it exists or you turned wrong somewhere, but just keep driving straight to the far back and the parking lot will take you there. Parking spots are limited so you may have to walk a little They have an outdoor area set up in addition to indoor seating. Large selection of ciders to choose from, however some are seasonal or small batch so they may be out of the one you want. The chicken bites were a good appetizer and came in a good portion enough for 2-4 folks to share. Enchilada dish came with two enchiladas with rice and beans. Enchilada had good flavor and topped with a good deal of condiments. Burger was good sized and cooked just as we wanted it, but lacked seasoning and flavor on its own. Drove all the way from Portland proper to try the pizza special this week. We called ahead to confirm that it was OK to have kids at the restaurant. I spoke with someone who said they did and offered no other information. Then we arrived it was a mad house. We waited in line just to put our name on a list.l and told 20-30min. We learned it was trivia night- so none of the tables were leaving. No one had mentioned this long wait over the phone. Many tables were seated with 2 people at a table of 6-8. We waited with a young child rapidly melting down well past 20-30min. I asked about time and no one could offer any useful updates. Just a lot of I don't know. I first experienced Portland Cider Company about a year or so in a taproom in Tacoma and Steve and I fell in love with the cider so much! I believe it was the Sangria cider. We were very impressed! On a fairly recent trip to Portland we decided to go to the Portland Cider Company's own location. Once again the cider was great! We got the Concord Grape, the Hoprageous, Sorta Sweet and the Pineapple Rose. Once again we felt like all of the ciders were a real hit with us! There is food that is served here and we really liked that. We wanted to get a hummus plate which had a great tasting hummus along with warmed pita bread, house pickled red onions (which were amazing), cucumbers and baby carrots. First and foremost... the best service I have ever had. Cole, Emily and Dory are so friendly and make you feel welcome. But my review is specific to Vinnie.. the Chef. By far, the best food ever. And Vinnie is front and center in the dining room.. he makes his rounds to all of the customers, offering food samples and great conversation. How often do you get the opportunity to meet the chef? We have been here a dozen times or more and Vinnie has come out to greet us every time. His passion for cooking is evident. He loves to serve, loves to feed people.
