There were many large seating area available. One main cedar table was a big attraction. There is a fireplace with a table by it We got a table. I ordered a Borgona, fruit puree juices mix with Sprite. Never had one, but sounded really good. It came and it was delicious and fruity for a mocktail. We ordered a shrimp ceviche and octopus skewers to start out with. The Shrimp Ceviche was very delicious and it was something that I was very happy to share it with my friends. It was a big portion of shrimp cocktail with salsa on the bottom and these large sized blue chips. It was so good that we ate it quickly. Octopus skewers was a tad charred. Yet very delicious especially if you eat it with the pineapple together. Brings out the flavor of the pineapples quite well. We ordered the Pork Belly Tacos and Mole Shrimp Tacos which came in 3. I absolutely loved street tacos filled with good fresh ingredients. And both of these hot the spot. The pork belly was an absolute great flavor of the pork belly. The Shrimp was delicious. Cook perfectly and easy to devour quickly. DeFuego Nachos had Jalapenos. But wasn't listed. The nachos were delicious and it was quickly devoured. Wings came in 4 wings with garlic parmesan with carrots and celery and ranch on the platter. Heavily garlic on the wings yet very delicious. Half wedge salad was a surprise how much there is in the salad. A lot of fresh veggies there with cherry tomatoes and sliced radishes in it. I had a absolutely fun experience celebrating my birthday here. DeFuego had Happy Hour from 3pm to 6pm, seven days out of the week. Seems the Happy Hour here is very popular. You have 21 appetizers to choose from on the Happy Hour Menu. There are Mocktails, and any drinks you want available. Definitely will come back again.

Shoot. Last night I took my boyfriend here to celebrate a special event & we left so disappointed!…read moreWe got there at 7:15 & we were stuck there for over 2 hours! I ordered 2 things and both came out wrong. Our waitress spoke very loudly and we could hear her having long personal conversations with people a couple tables away from us for 10+ minutes at a time, several times. While we waited for her, we ran out of water a few times and I had to ask for more. It was over an hour before our order was even taken. We did flag her down to order an appetizer, brussel sprouts with cheese on the side due to a dairy allergy, but... the sprouts came out with cheese on them. They corrected this fairly promptly, but then we sat for another 45 minutes before our order was actually taken. I ordered a steak as "somewhere between medium & medium well" and she correctly repeated my order back to me "medium/medium well." When the steak came out, it was WELL well done. Like, burnt. I wanted to send it back, but I didn't want to deal with the embarrassment or have to wait even longer for food. We were about an hour & 45 minutes into dinner by the time we got our food. I was so disappointed! I also wanted to get dessert to celebrate the occasion but the service was SO slow that we had to cancel our after-dinner plans. We ordered it anyway & requested the check promptly, giving up on our plans for the rest of the evening. We were only a party of 2, we arrived early for our reservation, & we watched several larger parties come and go while we waited for our order to even be taken. It was a Wednesday night and not overly busy, there were several empty tables, so I'm not sure what the hold up was. We were also seated at an odd table next to the kitchen with a small divider between us and the staff. It was noisy and I even heard 2 staff members exchange a joke about how someone else had left & said they'd never come back. They laughed about it. I wish I had the guts those people had to get up & leave! I've never once left less than a 20% tip and felt immense guilt not tipping well, but after experiencing the poor service then also hearing the staff blatantly acknowledge it & not care.... I was appalled. The Hilton bought the hotel attached to De Fuego and I'm shocked. This was a Monarch hotel before and I'd assume that the Hilton's standards would be higher but the service and quality here have tanked hopelessly low since the acquisition. I had a similar experience at The Underground before it closed. I've learned my lesson & won't come here for a special occasion again.

True speakeasy connected to the The Hive…read more This is a hidden gem in Oregon City and of course it should be, being that it's a speakeasy. I ordered a couple cocktails here and both were top notched. The bartender was busy but was still friendly. The vibe here is trendy and definitely a great place to bring a date. The night I came there was a live singer performing.

We were visiting family in the area and had two people in our group local to the area who had been there several times in the past. We first went and checked in and were told there was a 10-15 minute wait. The hostess was very kind, took our number and sent us to the upstairs bar to wait for a table. We were greeted by a friendly bartender who took our drink orders (cocktails and wine) and we enjoyed our beverages while chatting by the bar. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with large velvet green booths, all new, updated and well done. The drinks were all great. The downstairs hostess came upstairs to let us know our table was ready, and we paid and went downstairs. So far, we were all really happy with our experience. The prices of the drinks were all around $15-20+ but we were all okay with it given the good service (thus far), high end atmosphere, etc. There were people in there but it was a pretty mellow Saturday evening. We were given a nice large area to sit and thanked the hostess. The waitress came and was clearly a little overwhelmed but took our drink orders. I mentioned a drink my husband had upstairs and asked if I could have it, but was told they had a different menu down here and I needed to order from that menu. I looked it over while the others ordered their drinks, and when she came back to me, I asked if I could go upstairs to order the drink I wanted, and bring it down. She said sure. I put in an order for a couple food items with her, and she left. My brother in law kindly offered to go upstairs and order the drink and was gone for quite a long time. We learned that when he was upstairs, he went to the bar and mentioned I wanted a drink from his bar. The bartender's mood shifted and he said he had 10 drinks ahead of my BIL, and asked him to go downstairs to order. My BIL informed him he was told the downstairs bar didn't have the ingredients, and was sent up here. The bartender was annoyed and asked my BIL to go downstairs for 10 minutes and come back again to order. My BIL replied that he was happy to wait at the bar instead and took a seat. After a long while, the bartender curtly said that my BIL would have to pay for the drink up here, which my BIL of course agreed to. My BIL said it was very uncomfortable and the bartender was being rude (a couple sitting at the bar also mentioned this). We are guessing he was overwhelmed and didn't handle it well. He brought the drink downstairs, no problem. We were all sitting for a while and noticed that my BIL never received the beer he ordered from the waitress downstairs. And after about 45 minutes I asked about the food I had ordered (she hadn't checked in with us at all during that time, and I should mention it was not busy at all - several tables open). The waitress said she forgot to put it in. That was it. No offer to quickly put it in, no offer to comp a drink, no real apology. We asked for the bill and split it between two cards. When we got the receipts and cards back, my husband found they had given both him and his brother (the other payer) copies of my husband's receipt-so he assumed he was double charged. He went to the front to bring this to their attention and explained how he was upset by the poor service throughout the evening. He received a quick response that they had printed the receipt twice (didn't charge twice) and were short staffed that evening. We are all understanding people and my sister in law ran restaurants for years, we all had food service jobs and are sympathetic but really just disappointed in this place. I'm writing this review because the employees there just didn't seem to care about the issues we raised. They had an acoustic artist playing that evening who was phenomenal. If you go there on a different day with different staff, I'm sure you'd have a great time. But for the price and ambiance, we really expected better service.

I learned of Giving Cafe & Bistro through a Yelp Elite event. It was such a delight!…read more I go to Milwaukie once a month or so on errands. I will usually stop in the area for a bite or drink. And now I've discovered my favorite place to stop in at when I'm in town! My favorite cuisine is Thai, and my favorite Thai food is fresh salad rolls with peanut sauce. That's what I ordered on a cold, blustery day..that with a pot of jasmine tea. It sure warmed me up! The service is great! The server was friendly with a beautiful smile. She checked with me to see if I needed more hot water or peanut sauce. Yes please on the peanut sauce! I will definitely be back!

I started with a cucumber basil margarita- very refreshing. Then ordered the cashew nut entree, medium spice and it was delicious- all my favorite veggies with chicken, and added shrimp to it (additional charge). I really enjoyed the flavors and probably could've gone up a spice level- there is a pepper oil on the table that I dribbled on and really enhanced the flavor. I loved dipping the rice in the juice as well. So good. Very cute inside, and wish I could give the waitress more stars- she was really nice, helpful, attentive, and made really good drinks. I also got the lychee martini to end and it was delicious as well. Very highly recommend to visit. I heard multiple people order the pumpkin curry and may have to come back and give it a try.

We've been for both breakfast (pictures attached & speak for themselves :D) and lunch- both times were delicious! Make sure you go early enough or there's a chance they will already be sold out of something on the specials board as happened to one of the guests in our party of four. The hubby says they make a great bloody Maria with their own spices and nice veggie accompaniments. Same thumbs up for their margaritas too. Not really a place to take large groups but given their hospitality, I'm sure they would try. Best to call in advance for that need. Super friendly staff, it almost feels like you've gone to their home and treated like family. You've likely seen the place if you've driven on McLoughlin/99E as they're right on the corner but only accessed from northbound side. A small parking lot but since it's the north end of town you're likely to find a spot on the street too. Support their restaurant ... would love to have them be around for a long time!

After waiting for about 20 seconds (he went to go check if a table was clear... and someone was just finishing cleaning a lovely table by the window), we were led to an another smiling person who seated us. The place was busy, but not too crowded. It was a Sunday around 11 AM. Parking in the lot was no problem, although I know this area gets much busier when the Milwaukie Farmer's Market is going, so you may want to keep that in mind for May through October. When the market is going on... I believe you can park in the Library parking lot just about a block away or street parking on Main, etc. Our waitress, a third person, was also very nice and quickly brought us water and asked if we wanted to order something to drink before we ordered food. We did. Two of us ordered regular coffee and I ordered a beautiful butterfly pea flower blue plant based latte made with almond milk (see photo). It was delicious! They have so many interesting drinks, I definitely want to come back and try several more. One person in our party was omnivore, another was vegetarian/pescatarian, and another was vegan. They had no problems, accommodating all of us. They also had several tasty looking specials on a chalkboard on the wall. I have included a photo of our various foods and the menus. The servings were generous and delicious. We only live about six minutes away from here and sadly this is the first time we have been able to visit. We had planned to several other times, but it never worked out (note: they are closed Mondays). We will absolutely be back and this is a place we will regularly bring friends/family when they visit, for sure! Everything was fresh. Service was wonderful. Everyone was absolutely kind and lovely.

(20+ years living in Texas and 4+ years in Oregon trying to find some god damn good bbq). My buddy and I were just traveling through and came across this place. Every sauce is made in house, and the flavor is absolutely immaculate. We ordered the wings (Asian Fire and Passionfruit Habanero), Brisket Sandwich, Cheesesteak Samdwich, and garlic Parmesan fries. Every fry was perfectly crisp. Every piece of brisket was falling apart. My god what an absolutely gem of a find in the middle of no where.

Seriously next level. Perfect flavor, perfectly cooked, and honestly some of the best meat you'll find anywhere in town. I've eaten at pretty much every restaurant on the main strip, and 1933 is the only one I keep coming back to. It's a true hidden gem in West Linn and absolutely worth checking out. Great owners, they care so much about quality. Extremely thankful for this restaurant!!!!
