Food: Overall the food was pretty good. Wish the portions of the stuffing for my Bobbie was larger but overall decent. Not too much mayo either which was a plus. My partner ordered an impossible cheesesteak and had ordered no cheese and both of the sandwiches both for him and my son had cheese on them. Place: Clean overall. No one was in there so it's really just a grab and go spot a but like a subway. I wish they made it comfortable to sit but it's a chain and there's nothing new about that. We love their Wagyu Cheesesteaks here. The price however is pretty dang high weighing in at $29.50 for a large, $19 for a medium. My son was pleased they have a plant based turkey sub for him to partake in our splurge meal. It cost $75 for 4 sandwiches then adding a tip a whopping 80 bucks! Like I said splurge meal since we don't make it out to Happy Valley very often and we do really miss these sandwiches from our time in Vegas. I saw the posted sign on limited time American wagyu au jus French dip so I had to check it out. Quick, clean corner spot with friendly and helpful staff. I settled on Half Sub 5" American wagyu roast beef, $10 with a side of the American wagyu au jus French dip since it didn't come with it. There were a lot of meat so definitely a plus for meat lovers with sufficient amount of mayo, two slices of tomato, giant slices of provolone cheese, some onions, and a sprinkle of lettuce. I would have preferred to have my bread toasted. There was less than half of au jus dip in a 6 oz to go cup. I would say less than 3 oz so I was disappointed since it was the only reason I came in. I had seen several Capiottis advertisements and wanted to give them a go! When we arrived I had seen that they actually roasted turkey everyday for their sandwiches and boy could you tell! The turkey was moist and flavorful! I got the turkey with cranberry and stuffing and gravy on the side! I would recommend going out of your way for this sandwich! They bread was soft and fresh as well. The employees were friendly and worked quickly despite being overwhelmed with what looked like online ordering or catering. I would expect to wait a little while after you order as they seemed to be quite busy. There is plenty of parking and seating for your visit. The restaurant was clean. Whoever invented these french fries needs an award. They're not JoJos, they're not steak fries, they're not shoestring, there are not hashbrowns, they are cut in the most random shapes, absolutely thin, delightfully crisp with the perfect amount of mush and it's just so satisfying. The ranch is also not a standard ranch, it has a very high acidity......almost as if there was some vinegar mixed in and that just bumped it up a notch. My husband got the chicken Parmesan and it was just a big sloppy wet mess. There's none of the traditional chicken Parmesan that you would expect, there were plenty of grilled veggies, but by the time we got home three minutes after having our order handed to us his sandwich was just a soggy sub . I on the other hand ordered the Italian, and it was absolutely fantastic. The meat is so fresh, my seasoning was perfect, the veggies were incredibly crisp and flavorful. Their sizes are a little weird, everything comes in a long baguette or French roll and there are four sizes available. The medium is basically a foot-long and they run anywhere from $18 to $22 per sandwich but completely shareable. Their sides are a fun twist, you can get the fancy french fries, which I absolutely suggest, a cookie, potato chips, a side, salad, or coleslaw. I chose a side salad, and the veggies were beautiful chopped and it sitting in my fridge, waiting to be accompanied with some chicken breast tomorrow for a nice lunch. My husband chose the fries and I have nothing but the nicest things to say about those potatoes. The drink station is unique as well, vanilla sodas are always the upscale version of any fast food restaurant in my opinion. They do not boast just one but two vanilla sodas in their dispenser, so prepare yourself for tough choices. The service was wonderful, the staff was very friendly, young, but knowledgeable about the menu, and the food was prepared extremely well. The only negative I have is that it was absolutely downright freezing, and I am no wimp when it comes to the cold. We had to ask for our food to go, because there was no outside seating, and it was too cold to be inside even with jackets on. I understand they're working with a Grill so the staff is probably comfortable and that is important. They appear to have a nice patio space, but there was just no outside seating available. Final score for today hot sandwiches a zero, cold sandwich a 10, french fries a 10, soda a 10, freezing cold dining room is a zero, french fries a 10 again. Food- they have a pretty decent sized menu with lots of options. The overall freshness of meat: amazing, veggies: solid! The bread is absolutely amazing because it's fresh and so soft. Service- was good. There were about 5 staff working. So, there wasn't a wait really. We also let them know that we were first timers and they let us know about their items that are most recommended which are highlighted in red on their menu. Ambiance- they have a nice little joint. It's pretty clean and organized. Chips are always stocked up- unlike most sandwich shops I've been too. They also have a really nice soda machine. Overall cleanliness is pretty good. I was so excited to try this spot when I saw that their special is a French dip sandwich. The staff here is friendly but not very helpful to customers who haven't been to a Capriottis before. I had actually never even heard of this place before! Once we figured out the sandwich sizes offered we weren't sure what was offered as toppings, sauces, etc. We had to specifically ask about everything because the staff wasn't offering up any help and the huge menu on the wall isn't very helpful either. We intended to try the soup too but it wasn't worth asking a tons of additional questions to order it. We ended up with a French dip and an Italian. Both were good sandwiches but for a price of about $45 for 2 people it wasn't that great. This isn't likely a place we'll set out to come back to. There's several other sandwich shops in the area that we prefer. read more

I love Capriottis! I was at a Yelp event and needed to bring food back for my family since I didn't have time to make dinner. I was glad to see a Capriotti's here in PDX. The last time I went to one was in Vegas. There was plenty of parking and the staff greeted me when I walked in. I ordered a salad and some sandwiches and the service was pretty quick. I got my favorite, the Bobbie which is turkey, stuffing and cranberries and of course it was super delicious. The meat is tender and not dry, the stuffing was flavorful and you gotta have the cranberry sauce. The sandwiches were a little pricey, but the sandwiches were pretty big and a fair price. They accidentally first made the Hot Bobbie with cranberry sauce and threw it in for free, even! The Hot Bobbie was warm and reminded me of Thanksgiving dinner. I had a chance to finally try Capriotti's today. I was surprised how busy they were, and not just with construction guys working nearby. The sandwiches are solid and one of the better choices I've had from any sandwich chain. The staff itself is friendly and hard-working. I can tell they still need some training up. (Ex. Don't scratch your hair with your gloves on then go back to working on food. Thankfully, they were not touching food directly.) My only complaint was the cost of the combo add on. $5 for a medium drink (compared to McDonald's in size) and a small bag of chips took our meal from reasonable to less so quickly. I will skip this option in the future. As for the sandwich itself. The bun was warm and soft in texture. The meat was grilled up fresh. If you get the Wagyu beef, it's sourced from Snake River Farms in Idaho - A solid choice. It really made the sandwich stand out. Usually Philly's are good, but fairly bland. So the quality beef helped out quite a bit. My daughter had the turkey. Before she tried it, she looked at the price and said "This better be worth it." She took one bite, and declared "Worth it!" She loves sandwiches, so she'll be a regular here. Overall, the place is new, but I can see it being a staple in Happy Valley for some time. I ordered Capriotti's for the first time for a team lunch at work. There were 3 of us and we ordered the following medium sandwiches: meatball, chicken parmesean and classic Italian. All the sandwiches were really good. The only small issue with the Italian was that the bread was slightly soggy with the oil but it was delivered so that made sense. The medium sandwiches are 10" but are stuffed with toppings, so much so that the bread couldn't contain the tomatoes and pickles. The big downside was the cost. As good and filling as it was, I'm not sure I can justify $15 for a 10" meatball sub. read more

Among the many things I will toddle off to my grave not understanding - things like how Taylor Swift can crush Ticketmaster when Pearl Jam couldn't and also Taylor Swift- the debate about cheesesteaks is high on the list. As far as I can tell, a cheesesteak in its Platonic form is bits of stir-fry beef coated in Vaseline-based cheese, griddled, and served in bread that was bioengineered to be the gustatory equivalent of a Toyota sedan. A beige Camry for your mouth. Sometimes, there's the rumor of peppers and onions, but, honestly, the sandwich comes from Philly. They don't eat vegetables. So, Capriotti's. I've had a variety of their fun-time sandwich friends, and the cheesesteaks rank at the bottom every time. Far better to eat their turkey-stuffing fellas (called "The Bobby," which is clearly a reference to the turkey I had growing up, Robert Mealagris Evenstine, The Third) or their other turkey-stuffing buddy, called "The Hot Bobby" cause he is one boneable sando.
