    Dave's #3 1 Tender & 1 Slider w/ Fries
    Naly S.

Lots of parking available and seating inside and outside! We went around 9 pm, and it was still pretty busy inside but we still were able to get seats and our orders really fast. Good environment for a late night snack. We ordered two #3 sets, one spicy and one medium. I got the spicy one and thought it was perfect, a small kick but not overwhelming where I couldn't eat it without downing liquids. The slider was delicious! The chicken was a HUGE cut. But wasn't dry tasting , had great flavor. The tender was okay, I think I preferred the slider over the tender. The fries were super good too. I was surprised I usually don't like crinkle cut but those were yummy! The drinks were also good. They had a great slushy consistency and flavor. We got a side of mac and it was good, though I think it was a little too runny for my taste but flavor wise was decent. I'd def go again for the slider and fries :))

Dave's Hot Chicken has a lively vibe when you walk in. The service is great, they were helpful and friendly. The sliders are delicious, fried to perfection and the flavor was phenomenal. 9.5 out of 10. The crinkle cut fries were crispy with the perfect amount of salt. 9 out of 10. I had a great experience here and I'm sure you will too. Happy eats.

Man I LOVE Dave's Hot Chicken. I've been to about a half dozen different locations and the tenders have consistently been amazingly high quality across the board. This spot was no exception. The tenders were large, generously saturated in my favorite spice, and unbelievably moist and juicy. There was no line when we came in and service was speedy with getting our tenders out in less than five minutes while still maintaining that excellent quality. Hopefully some locations will open up around WA so I can enjoy it more often. But overall great food, friendly staff, and enjoyable atmosphere with the always entertaining artwork. 10/10

This isn't my first time to this Dave's hot chicken spot, but it is my first review. I'll say it's def CARB city with how much bread you get with your food. We ordered the 2 slider combo with fries and an extra tender on the side to share. We got lucky and they gave us an extra tenders on top of the extra one I ordered, so that's a WIN! Haha. The tenders were super crunchy and the meat was moist. We got mild Sammie's and medium single tender. The spicy is definitely there and good enough. I give it a good 6 out 10 on the heat scale. The fries were just meh, but that's normally my opinion about fries everywhere. It's RARE fries get my attention or thumbs up, but I'll always eat them because they are delicious! Haha. They gave me A TON of pickles but it still wasn't enough because I love pickles. Customer service was basic and nothing to brag about, but HEY that's still good customer service. I don't expect a place like this to WOW me. Parking can be tight, but it is doable and depending on when and what time you go may make it easier or harder to park.

Food- I ordered 2 chicken sliders with fries. The spice level was Mild. Mild is not really mild. It's a good order for a kid if you're not into spice. I will add the chicken is fresh but the issue is their powdery spice & the ratio of breading/crust to chicken & spice. It's just not proportionate. You get more breading/ spice as opposed to meat. The sliders come with a coleslaw and pickles combo. Fries- fries would be better if they were a little crunchy... they're crinkle fries. Slider like roll is decent. Size wise if chicken- fairly larger than most places. Side of Mac & Cheese: their Mac & cheese is pretty good. It's cheesy, rich and the noodles are cooked relatively well. They're not soggy. Highly recommend. Milkshake- strawberry- it's alright. Could you a tad more flavor of strawberry. Those are made to order- which before we even finished paying the shake was done! That's kinda nice! Ambiance- overall it's a clean shop. Tables are bussed and there's plenty of room. It's super bright lol so bring some shades. I give it a 3 based on the chicken. The chicken is their "star" but it could use some work around spice and the ratio of breading to chicken and spice. I'm not sure I'd return. Maybe for the Mac but not for the chicken.

I have to laugh about this one. I had heard that Dave's Hot Chicken was making a "Dave's NOT Chicken" which was actually cauliflower. I was really excited to try it so when I was in the area, I placed an order online, went to pick it up, and took it home. When I open it up, I'm thinking, "wow this really looks like chicken." When I bite into it, I'm thinking, "wow this really taste like chicken." So I go to look up how they make their cauliflower and I realized... This is chicken. Yes, I had ordered a regular chicken sandwich thinking it was the new cauliflower. Dang it. So, I think that their sandwiches are good. The "hot" level spice was about what I expected it to be. The fries were just all right. I am super excited that they're offering a cauliflower option. I hope I will get to try it soon. And I hope that if they make it a permanent menu item, it's more clear that you are receiving it or not (for example, some businesses stick a big green vegan sticker on their vegan items if they also serve meat).

So, I've been driving past the Dave's on Sandy Blvd for months, and thinking "I ought to give this a try". But I was also pretty unmotivated - I mean, really? Did we need another chicken place? I also saw that Samuel L Jackson was an investor, and found that to be intriguing, and read the origin story and thought yeah, well, ok, maybe this will be different. And today, my partner had an extended trip to a nearby medical facility and it was lunch time, and I figured, what the hell, might as well. This is a typical fast food restaurant. You walk up to the counter - eventually, there was a line - and the perky and attentive counter agent took my order, and I paid, and sat down waiting for my number to be called. I opted for the Dave's #1 - two tenders, with fries, and Dave's sauce. There are seven levels of spice, ranging from "No Spice" to "Reaper". While I enjoy spicy food, I'm picky about my spice, and like it bundled with a lot of flavor, so I opted for a nice, safe "Medium". A few minutes later, my number was called, and I was face to face with lunch. It was... OK. The chicken was moist and tender, just the way well cooked chicken should be. I thought the size of the tenders was good, about half a typical boneless chicken breast each. The coating was more heat than flavor, and very unsatisfyingly NOT crunchy. I was expecting at least Popeye's level, maybe all the way up to Bae's, but nope. It was just sort of there. The fries, however, were delish. The "Dave's sauce" was some sort of spicy mayonnaise that registered as more greasy than tasty. The pickle slices were deeply appreciated, and I'd def order more of those next time. The two slices of wonder bread that the chicken arrived parked on top of, like coasters at a dive bar? I just left them sitting there, coated with the grease they absorbed - probably the best possible use. I'll be making at least one more trip. My partner was intrigued, but not jelly about missing the opportunity, so there will be one to satisfy her curiousity. And I'm kinda wondering about the Mac and Cheese, the cheese fries, and the milkshakes. The kale slaw? Yeah, they can keep allll of that. So: it's not "not recommended" but it's also not "omg stop right now and go". Just a solid, very mid, not supremely satisfying chicken place. T

Good Healthier food (OK, sandwiches) plus you get a pickle if you ask. (PICKLES ARE NOW GONE FROM MENU). Nice service. Why go to Taco Bell, McDonald's, Wendy's or 7-11, all at that corner of HWY 212 and 82nd Drive when you can go here and pay the same for healthier. Call ahead and order a sandwich, plenty of parking (NOT SINCE THEY MOVED). LIMITED PARKING. in the big lot across from Fred Meyer and it is better for you. Met a pal here for a casual weekday lunch…read more Both of us ordered sandwiches - a ham & pineapple sandwich w/ a side of coleslaw, and a meatball sandwich w/ a side of fries. Both sandwiches were made with tasty, fresh ingredients and there was no skimping on the meat. Fries were hot and crispy, as they should be. Coleslaw was slightly unexpected - the cabbage was not shredded but rather was more like a chopped salad with some dressing on it. The flavor of the coleslaw dressing was acceptable ... didn't bowl me over, and wasn't as tangy as preferred, but it was fine as something a little different. The guy at an adjacent table raved about his burger. I'll admit it looked and smelled pretty darn good ... will have to try that next time. Service was a little slow - it took close to 15 minutes to get our sandwiches (and the place was NOT busy at the time), but we were gabbing and weren't in a hurry so this wasn't an issue for us. Total price was about $18 for the sandwiches, sides, and colas. As this was a working lunch, we weren't drinking but it appears the deli does sell beer and wine. Overall, this is a place I'd try again if I were in the area. Definitely beats your typical greasy fast food. As a side-note, I liked the "community feel" created by the table next to the front door with locals' business cards. From printing services to haircutting to handyman, you can probably find whatever you need. What a nice way for a business to support its fellow businesses.
