We've had several meals at Pho Bar now and every meal is delicious. Our absolute favorite is the bahn mi sandwiches. We alternate between the chicken and the pork because both are so good! We also love the pho here. The broth is so flavorful and the meats and noodles are all good quality. They've even added soy sauce to their condiment selection! We love the spicy sauce they serve at the table as well. It gives the pho the perfect added spice. They've added a selection of desserts to choose from now. We recently tried the creme brûlée and it was very good. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. They will check in at tables regularly. It's a clean restaurant with nice decor and seating. I got the short rib rice plate, and it was GOOOD. Meat wasn't chewy, good amount of char, and the flavor was packed. Good amount of rice and veggies to pair it with. I wish it came with a side of broth, but no biggie! My partner got the Pho Đặc Biệt, and he enjoyed it. He said it wasn't the best he's had, but it satisfies his fix for pho. Our only complaint that it is on the pricier side, but given the area it is in, I'm not surprised about it as we usually don't frequent this neighborhood. Good service and clean space. read more

I didn't have high hopes when it first opened but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Establishment has plenty of seating with natural light pouring in from the floor to ceiling front windows. For drinks I've had the cafe sua da and thai iced tea -- wasn't that good but drinks are not a deal breaker here. Appetizers, we ordered the pork and shrimp spring rolls that would be better with more pork as the shrimp was very overpowering. I've had the banh canh cua, bo ne, and pho which are all pretty good! The banh canh cua was my favorite and came out boiling in the clay pot but was unfortunately not up to par at my most recent visit -- didn't come out boiling as usual, the broth was not as flavorful, and the noodles seemed to be overcooked (could've been an off day). It is a little spendy in comparison to other restaurants of its kind (about $20+) but it is also in a more expensive area. There are new dishes on the menu that look good but I can't find it in myself to pay $28 for a bowl of noodles. It's only five minutes from my boyfriend's house so it is convenient to go to rather than driving into Portland. read more

The pho here is the best. Clean ingredients down to the bean sprouts and basil. Broth is rich in flavor. Noodles a plenty. Generous portions of lean white chicken meat and big slices of beef. Crispy spring rolls are full of meat and shrimp. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is super friendly. Dropped in here for brunch yesterday while my car's tires were being swapped. The location feels unfortunate for this family business. Happy Valley/Damascus isn't much of a walking community, so you have to have been craving pho or stumbled upon this place via some food search like I did. The food was good. I had the pho rolls- soft pho noodles wrapped around lemongrass pork with a fish sauce. Little mouthfuls of flavor, but most of that flavor came from the fish sauce and the cilantro. I wanted the lemongrass pork to have a little more flavor punch. I also had the Pho Bac Diet. The broth was great. I only added their homemade sambal, jalapeños, and a basil leaf to make it to my liking. I loved that I didn't feel like I needed to grab the big bottle of hoisin. The short rib was soft and cooked perfectly. Portion was big and enough for two meals! Service was welcoming, prompt, and friendly. I did not think there would be a good Vietnamese spot so deep into Clackamas, but this was an amazing find! The restaurant is pretty spacious inside with high ceilings, and is very clean and open. Service is always very fast here and the servers are kind. What I was so surprised about were there (in my eyes) innovative dishes that I've never seen before, yet they still kept true to Vietnamese cuisine and were delicious. Two dishes that stuck out to me were the pho rolls and special dry pho--which were both delicious. Their portions are generous and the quality is amazing. With very few decent Vietnamese restaurants in the Happy Valley area, there was some hesitancy to even go to one located in Damascus. Surprisingly the food is actually pretty solid! Although the drinks, Cafe sua da and Thai iced tea, can use some improvement. The Goi cuon/salad rolls weren't too bad but could be balanced out with more pork or less shrimp (shrimp was overpowering). The Bo ne/sizzling beef platter, Pho bo dac biet/beef "special" noodle soup with a bone in back rib, and weekend rotating special Banh canh cua/Vietnamese udon with real crab meat in a clay pot are dishes rarely seen at other restaurants. The Banh canh cua comes out boiling in the clay pot and stays hot for an extended period of time. It is a little pricy but is as expected for the area. Looking forward to trying other dishes. read more

This place is EXCELLENT. I was SO very impressed. When you sit down, the waitress brings jasmine tea to you immediately. It's divine - floral and light. The spring rolls, the noodle salads with lemongrass chicken or pork - all so very good. I always order a side of broth when I get those dishes. I've been waiting for this place to open since the sign was put up! I love seeing more Asian businesses pop up close that's closer to home and Pho Bar is conveniently right down the street. My boyfriend and I came Monday evening around 5pm. The restaurant is cute and cozy inside. They have tables along the walls that can seat 2-4 people and a long table in the middle that can seat up to 14 people. There were so many flower deliveries that came while we were there. So sweet to see all the love and support! We ordered pho bo dac biet (specialty beef pho) and bun thit cha gio (vermicelli bowl with lemongrass pork and egg roll). They didn't have Sriracha or hoisin sauce on the table, but I think I may have seen it at the cahier counter. The egg roll that came with the vermicelli actually had shrimp in it which I've never seen before! Super delicious. I would have loved to have more than one. The taste was good and felt healthier than what we're used to at a more traditional Vietnamese restaurant. I also ordered the pink lady drink and it was fabulous! Or should I say dangerous because I could not taste the alcohol (which is a plus in my book). They had a lot of cool drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to choose from. Lastly, we ordered both the banana ice cream and matcha creme brulee for dessert. The banana ice cream had sliced bananas covered in condensed milk and topped with coconut shavings and peanuts. Very refreshing! If you love pure matcha, you'll really enjoy the matcha creme brulee. I would prefer it to be a little more sweet, but that's just me. I'm so happy we finally got to dine at Pho Bar. They are planning to come out with more dishes in the future, but they have a great selection of popular foods and drinks right now, so definitely check them out and support this new Asian-owned business! Hey hey hey! Watch out everyone there is a new Pho in town. This place just opened in a brand new shopping center. More places opening here, but this place will take you to flavor town. I ordered the crispy rolls and the #3 pho combination. It comes with a hefty portion of beef, meatballs, and a bone in rib that will make the Flintstones truck tip. Listen it's hard to see in the picture but there was more meat in this thing than any pho restaurant that I've visited. It was delicious too! I usually don't sip on much of the broth, but I drank 3/4 ths of the broth! I had to lean in on this crispy rolls tho. Admittedly the first order was so dang good, I couldn't wait until "next time". So me thinking why do tomorrow what I could do today, ordered another. Darn it man, I messed around and found out! Pho was delicious. My fiancé and I were in town for a week and ended up eating here 4 of the nights. We tried a few other things on the menu, but the beef pho can not be beat. We have now left town and have since gotten pho a few times from different places, and have found ourselves comparing every bowl to this place. None have come close to the richness and quality of this soup. One night, we came in 25 mins before closing (unintentionally) and they did not make us feel rushed and allowed us to eat our meal until we were finished instead of making us take it to go.
