Came in with family to check this out today. Food: Lemongrass Chicken (4/5) Tender chicken with soft steamed rice and a good mix of steamed vegetables. The dipping sauce was tasty, and it came with a small bowl of pho broth on the side, which I really liked. It was comforting and a nice extra. Everything felt fresh and satisfying. A good choice if you are not in the mood for pho but still want something warm and filling. Service: Prompt and attentive. Our food came out quickly, and they checked on us just enough without hovering. Ambiance: It feels like a typical Vietnamese restaurant with big windows and plenty of light. The menu appears to have been streamlined, with photos and clear descriptions for every level of customer. Each table has everything you need (chopsticks, silverware, hot oil, sauces, napkins) in a neat dispenser, making it easy for the wait staff to concentrate on taking orders, delivering food, and efficiently turning the tables to be ready for the next group of customers. My go to spot for a Viet meal. Food is consistent and comes out fast. I respect the waiters for carrying such heavy and hot bowls so well. Restaurant is fairly spacious and can hold large parties. The parking lot is not my favorite but it works. Their phở đặc biệt and bùn bò Huế are my usual order. read more

This Pho place will always have a special place in my heart. I've been eating here since I was 2 right after I moved to Oregon from NYC. This was one of my first restaurants that I ate at, in Oregon and honestly the best one. My parents loved this place so much that to this day we still go here so many times! The cuisine variety is so big that you could eat a different thing there for 100 days and you still wouldn't have tired it all! The broth of all soups is so rich, flavorful and you can tell that it would just made. They also add so much meat, like they're generous with it, and it always is the most tender delicious thing ever. The herbs are what adds the sparkle. They always have the crunchiest bean sprouts and mhmhmm, the lime gives it that final touches. What I also love so much about this place is how clean it is and fresh. You could smell the Pho from outside and it just kind of, intrigues you into the store. I've been to a lot of restaurants and I find hair, dirty plates, etc in there food but this place, for as many years, I never found anything gross in there food, or dishes being dirty, which give me a trustable feeling about this place. The staff here are also elite! On Vietnamese New Years so called Tết, my little brother and I were eating at the this restaurant and one of the waiters came up handed us a red envelope, and I thought inside would maybe be a $1 bill, but was I so wrong. Inside was 5 $2 bills!!!? My brother was so happy, and that just made his and my day. Both Pho Hung locations are considered the best in Portland by foodies in my circles. I think this location is owned by the sister and the on on Powell is owned by the brother. If you prefer a more Vietnamese ambiance, this location has it hands down. The elegant elevated wooden booths are great if you want more privacy. Today I asked the waiter which Pho has the most soft tendon. He replied that they could add more soft tendon to any of the Phos. I wanted more soft tendons because Chinese believe that it nourishes the joints and connective tissue as a natural source of collagen. The answer is #9 Eye of Round with Soft Tendons. I'm loving it Fresh Avocado shakes are my go to for beverages. Ask the waiter which have fresh fruit on ingredients. My friends and I eat here today. Six of us have culinary backgrounds. We try the appetizers. The spring rolls cooked perfectly. The sauces that came with each appetizer complemented the items very well. The peanut sauce was outstanding. Every appetizer had enjoyable layers of flavor and worth every penny. I ordered item 19. We're so glad to have found this great Vietnamese restaurant in Portland after recommendation from a friend! We tried one of their Pho, a rice dish and a Vermicelli bowl in our first visit. The broth is clear and super flavorful. Both of the portion sizes are large, so even a small size is good for a hearty appetite. the Phò is served piping hot, as it should be. There are plenty of spices on each table if you'd like to add some extra heat. The pork chops in the rice dish were flavorful and delicious, as were the pork in the vermicelli bowl. The restaurant is large, with plenty of seating and the service is great. They have adequate parking on both sides. Phò Hung has one of the best Phò in Portland, but you've got to try their other dishes as well... we've visited them a couple of time thus far and have tried other dishes on the menu... they're all good! Ordered the Super Bowl large pho bowl- and yumm! The broth is sweet from the bones, you can tell it's been simmering for a long time to create that delicious pho broth. Perfect ratio of meat, noodles and broth. I always am a stickler about if I have the perfect bite for pho, and it was to my expectations. Service was fast, we were seated right away. The overall vibe of the place isn't too busy when we got there for dinner. There were people here and there but it wasn't too bustling and loud. We were able to still hold a conversation at our table. Stopped by for a quick dinner last night since we were craving pho. It's been a while since we've stopped by here and was pleasantly surprised the parking situation is so much better. There's more spots and the lines are visible. We got inside and were seated pretty quickly with a menu. We ordered the "Super Bowl special" large, and a jackfruit smoothie! We usually get avocado but decided to try the jackfruit- and it was delicious. The fruit that was used was very sweet. Our bowls of pho came out hot, with all the veggies on the side. The only thing Pho Huong (or Pho Hung as the sign outside reads) does well is its mediocrity: - Boring, salty bland food that arrives to the table straight from the kitchen and perfectly luke warm - Overpriced compared to similar restaurants - Dimly lit - Poor service. Plop goes the plate and never again shall you see a server or an employee. - When was the last time you went to an Asian restaurant and had to ask three times for hot tea? There's an unaffiliated Vietnamese restaurant on Powell by the same name that is exceptionally better. My wife and I went in for a warm bowl of Pho but were immediately disappointed to find out that the $17 for a large Super Bowl came with a microscopic amount of noodles and a decent amount of meat. Came here on a Friday afternoon at 4pm and there were a few tables with customers. We were served quickly which I greatly appreciated! I got salad rolls with shrimp and I think it also had thinly sliced pork as well. The peanut sauce was more savory than sweet and I liked the texture of the crushed peanuts on top. The salad roll really held its shape which made the app more enjoyable to eat. Also got the 36 which comes with broth, grilled pork chop and shrimp, and white rice. My go to spots for Pho in Portland. The parking lot is large and easy to find parking, staff are friendly and is locally owned. Prices are going up over time but that is due to inflation so it's just what you have to come to expect when eating out now. Despite that, the food is always great and reliable. Pho is clean tasting, and filled with protein, noodles, and veggies. I love the cleaner and lesser fat/oil in the broth. The banh xeo is always great too, it's huge and although they call it an appetizer, it's enough for one person as their entree. I always come back when I'm visiting Portland. read more

Heads up.. when ordering the Pho Dax Biet Super Bowl.. it doesn't mean it's an extra large bowl. It's a large bowl with a lot of meat. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but I think I've been spoiled while growing up. I will say that they were not stingy with the meat, tripe, and bean sprouts lol. Was eating from the bean sprouts / basil plate today while waiting for our pho order and was shocked to notice a caterpillar about 5cm long, still alive. Placed in on a napkin and when the waiter came showed it to him. He didn't apologize, didn't say I'm sorry or act like he cared. He said what is a caterpillar and then said oh it's a bug. I asked for a new plate of sprouts but the caterpillar never got cleaned up and laid on the napkin the entire time we sat there, even though two different people approved our table, nobody seemed to care to clean it up. Wow that was the best chicken vermicelli I've had in years! Clean, comfortable seating and service was friendly. I'm picky about the texture of chicken and pork and often, it's too rubbery of a texture, but this place was excellent in every way. Fresh and delicious, highly recommend! My wife and I stopped in for lunch today. They were packed, but still provided quick and competent service. I was a little surprised at the prices; it isn't an upscale restaurant. But things cost more these days, so the prices were probably fair. And the food was good - a little skimpy on the veggies to put on my pho, but ok. The only lame part was that my wife asked for non-dairy options for the bubble tea, 'cause she's vegan and dairy upsets her stomach somethin' fierce. She got Thai Iced Tea, which is traditionally made with coconut milk. She drank some of the tea before wondering if it had dairy, instead. She asked them about it, and they said that she'd ordered it and she had to pay for it even if she couldn't drink it. So, paying $6 for a drink that made her sick dropped the rating from a 4 down to a 3. The real price was paid with indigestion and bloating the rest of our night out. The food was ok, we ordered the pho. Number 2, 11, and an avocado shake. The broth was not as rich as other places. They were fast, and quick with bringing out the order. The problem was they were not organized when it comes to charging. Not the first time this happens. We left cash to cover the tip, and the man charging was very rude for not leaving more tips on the credit card charge receipt. I would not recommend the place just for the fact that we had multiple issues before with paying. You are better off at Pho Oregon. read more

the broth is divine. ask for chili oil if you want to add a little tiny bit to make the broth spicy, but it doesn't need it :) I usually get the rare steak and either lean or fatty brisket. If you order to go you will have to do some assembly and possibly a bit of reheating but so worth it and you get to have your pho at home! read more
