Stopped by here during my short stay in Portland. It was closeby to my Abnb. Came for dinner and it was pretty empty. Despite it being empty, the food and service was fantastic. I had the vermicelli noodles with shrimp, eggroll and grilled pork. The egg rolls were piping hot and crispy. The shrimp had a lot of meat and was really good with the sauce. My wife had the beef pho and she ate everything. The vermicelli and basil was really fresh. They have a vast menu. The parking lot is really big. The price of food is pretty good for the portion. They gave us hot tea and water which I thought was nice. It is somewhat quiet inside with music at an appropriate volume for conversations. read more

You know how you try a restaurant when it first opens up in your neighborhood, and then something happens - - either you don't like it or it's nothing special, or there's something better. That's what happened with me and this place. Well, we tried it again last night and I was like - - YUM!!!! Yes, the vibe could be better. Yes, I wish there was a full bar with fun cocktails. But I gotta get over that. The food is delicious. And they have a big menu with lots of options for everyone. Salad rolls were yum. Chicken satay was so moist and flavorful. They have one of the best crispy crepes I've ever had. Shrimp pho was good but will probably skip next time because we ordered way too much food. Service is quick and efficient. Maybe too quick. All the food basically came out at the same time - - ugh, what do you eat first before things start getting cold? Dining room is big with space between tables. Bathrooms are to the right of the entrance. Parking lot out front with plenty of parking. Definitely worth a try. We will be back. read more

It's been awhile since I came here, but a friend really liked one of their dishes and recommended to eat her for lunch. The place is nice and clean. The person working was quick to take out orders and made sure we got what we needed. I tried something different this time - Korner Super Bowl Pho, which had a good amount of meat that included beef rib, oxtail, top round steak, lean brisket, tendon, tripe, and beef meatballs. Really cute inside and plenty of parking. The staff is really nice and check back often, which can be a nice pace change from bigger Pho places. Prompt service, but not in a hurry, which I appreciate. I'd say the food here is great. Broth (beef Pho) is rich and clear. Noodles have a little bite to them and the meat portion is generous. I will say that I will return based on price as well, most Pho I get is usually about $18-20 dollars a bowl these days, and at $16 for a large (most, I think the special is a bit more), is a bargain! Salad rolls are also good, tried the pork skin, and while not really my thing, that's a me issue, wrap was fresh, veggies crisp and pork skin was a fun texture. Literally the Best Pho I've ever had!!! And for an amazing price ! The interior of the building was full of beautiful plants and gorgeous vases and artwork . Arrived at pho Korner this weekend around 9AM. The only pho Resturant open to us around this time. Attentive and friendly staff. Food was delicious. We ordered 1 small beef special & vegetable pho also small. My only complaint is they used grilled chicken in their broth and Although it was full of flavor I didn't really want it. The veggie pho came with carrots, bok choy, cabbage, mushrooms & broccoli. I appreciate this Resturant for adding more veggies into their veggie pho compared to other establishments. All & all. We had the pho and I was very impressed with their Super Bowl. Once I got past the sticker shock of $21.95, looked a little closer and saw it included oxtail, I knew I needed to give it a try. The broth was full of flavor and had generous portions of various meats, including oxtail, which is one of my favorites. Staff were friendly and attentive, parking was plentiful. This place is easily one of my fave go to Uber eats to my office. I'm rarely on the NE side so being able to order some comfort food that's delicious is nice while working downtown. They always pack it carefully and ensure that my beef is separated so it's not overcooked by the time it gets to me. Their broth is really delicious and it makes for a great lunch. With new owners and a new name, I have great hopes that Pho Korner will live up to the standards set by it's predecessor Pho Corner. The new owners have placed a significant amount of time and money updating the kitchen and facilities during a recent two-month closure, let's hope that energy comes through in their food as well. My simple order today consisted of Pho and Thai tea. The noodles weren't overcooked, offering the perfect amount of springiness required for dishing up and reheating at home. The broth did what any broth should do, filling my car with it's smokey fragrance the entire ride home. Oh, how I do love Pho! Here's a quick shoutout of gratitude for being generous with your toppings, Pho Korner. There was plenty of basil, lime, jalapeño, sprouts and unidentified weeds go around. Have I shared my Pho hack with you, yet? I take the white onions out of the topping mixture and quickly sauté them in a little sesame oil before adding them to the soup. I swear it makes the dish taste so much better! Then again, maybe I'm crazy. Try it and tell me what you think. This Vietnamese restaurant has long been one of my favorites because it's much closer in than some of the places out on 82nd. The food has consistently been delicious. Starting with the negative the only thing is when I first walked in it kinda smelled like moth balls. Now with the positives I was greeted and seated right away. The brought a glass of ice water and cup of tasty hot tea. Tables and floors were very clean, no stickiness, no clutter, no greasy film on surfaces. I ordered the #1 beef pho combination. Brought chili oil to the table with my pho. Tasted the broth and pleasantly surprised! The broth was soo yummy like home made. The noodles were a little too soft for me but it could have been because I didn't stir the bowl up right away because I was enjoying the broth too much. The meat was fresh and cooked perfectly. Meat was delicious and plentiful with good variety. Accompanying veggies were fresh and clean and the jalapeño was actually spicy which I loved. It seems like almost all Vietnamese restaurants tout the same menu with similar taste, but this is not necessarily a bad thing. Crispy Chicken Wings appetizer was real good. Skin wasn't caramelized, but rather crispy. They come out sizzling. The Special Chicken Salad was meh. Just some grilled pieces on a huge bed of cabbage. Pass. The Short Rib and Shrimp rice plate arrived cold. Another pass item. Portion was a bit small for the price. Rice was soft and fluffy, not hard like at Chinese places. I didn't connect with their version of Cafe Sua Da. Prices are higher here than at other Vietnamese restaurants. Very happy with the food, service and prices! My partner and I get stuck in a rut when it comes to dining out. I am afraid we were going to another pho place down the road that just wasn't measuring up anymore. We have now dined in probably 5 times in the past two weeks. It has been so refreshing to receive top notch service and food. I highly recommend the salad rolls, pho - get the large, ginger stir fry and egg rolls. I come here with my family often, and I always get the same thing: Bun Mam. It is vermicelli noodles in fish stewed broth with vegetables. The amount of fish and vegetables are abundant even in the large bowl of soup. Don't plan on going anywhere for dessert because the bowl will definitely make you full! The shrimp is perfectly cooked, and they give a lot of fish. The eggplants are just perfect, and the broth is to die for. Service is excellent, and the servers are always polite. Well I got to say I've had better Pho. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't the best I've ever had. I think that the broth was about average.I also had the spring rolls and they were mediocre-at-best seems like they weren't fresh. So I guess I can say I won't be back to visit this place because I'm quite sure that that's the first time experience is going to be my last. so with the fact I won't be coming back I won't have to worry about checking the bathroom to see if they ever cleaned it cuz that was quite the spectacle...good luck read more

It had the typical onions, green onions, and cilantro as well. It was nice and hot when it came out and not surprisingly, it was gone within 5 minutes. The service was fast and friendly. I'd recommend getting hot tea instead of water. So, I'm no Pho connoisseur, however, I do know what tastes good and that is the Pho with beef brisket and beef balls. The broth was so flavorful without being too much or too little of anything. The brisket was delicious, not too chewy at all and beef balls tasted great. The rest of the fixings were nice and fresh as well. Well, it has been a long while since I've been here since its Grand Opening. It was okay then. Probably worthy of 3-Stars then. However, this place has actually improved in its interior looks and the quality of food. Pho Corner has a great variety of Vietnamese dishes to choose from. Best part of it all, the food was tastier! As a group, you can see from the pictures, A LOT of food was ordered. The place isn't too big of a space but has utilized the space to situate plenty of tables and chairs without feeling confined. "This is kinda like ladies' night," Kurt announces after you sit down. Casey giggles. She would. She's dating him. You try to pick an expression that appropriately conveys a mixture of confusion and interest. "Huh?" "Like, there's a lot of ladies at ladies' night. You know, there's a lot of Pho places in the neighborhood?" It's a laboured explanation, but he's not wrong; there *are* a lot of ladies - uh, you mean Pho places - in the neighborhood. There's one less than a block away, and there's another a few more blocks past that. You could probably sprint from one to the next in under a minute. You're probably never going to try doing that in real life though. That sounds exhausting. You chew on Kurt's iffy simile as you thumb your way through the menu, noting a few appealing appetizers, a nice range of Vietnamese mains, and some enticing drink options. They have bubble tea - you squint hard at the little picture, trying to ascertain whether it's bubble *tea*, or bubble *smoothy*. You expect the latter. "Are you going to get the boba?" Casey asks, perceptively. She's known you for far too long. Between the three of you, you manage to arrive at an acceptable variety of orders, a plate of tofu salad rolls to split, bubble 'tea' for you, thai iced tea for Casey, and Kurt claiming he's fine with 'just tea.' The bubble tea does turn out to be a smoothy, but it's pretty standard fare for this kind of place. Casey's thai iced tea is about as sweet and orange as any girl could hope for. Kurt's 'just tea' is pretty good for being gratis. And then the salad rolls arrive. The three of you dig in, and the peanut sauce (which is, let's face it, at least half of the reason for ordering salad rolls - maybe more than half) is pretty peanutty, approaching peanut butter flavourwise. It's not your favorite, but you're not gonna kid yourself, even average peanut sauce is pretty effin' delicious. Kurt claims he doesn't really like peanut sauce, which earns him a skeptical-yet-tolerant look from you and another giggle from Casey. The food is all fairly good - most notably, the Pho soup broth is a little on what some might consider the under-seasoned side, but you actually appreciate this immensely; other places will serve you soup that's good to go with no fiddling, despite the heap of fresh leafy herb things and sprouts that come with the bowl, and the tray of saucy things available to doctor it up. You snap stems and tear leaves, squirt something you hope is hoisin sauce, and decide to go for broke with a whole spoonful of that dangerous-looking chili oil stuff. It all comes together nicely, and before long you're slurping your way through the dregs of the broth at the bottom of the bowl. Casey gives her stir-fried egg noodles and veggies a thumbs-up (literally - you're in charge of taking the picture for instagram.) Kurt likes his own soup just fine - he lets you try one of his meatballs, and you try not to be too suggestive as you slurp it up. Everything seemed pretty okay; you've had better Vietnamese food in general, but this place seems like it's doing pretty well. And then, just when everyone is stuffed and sluggishly sipping on whatever is left of their drinks, the waitress pops up with complimentary desserts! It's some sort of sweet chilled rice pudding variant, nice and light, pretty nearly perfect as a finisher for a big meal. You pay, thank your waitress, and wait outside together while Kurt takes a bathroom break. Casey nudges you. "So?" You sigh, and make a balancing motion with your hands. "I mean, he doesn't like peanut sauce, but he's also cute, so..." So yeah. read more

Rainy day. Hot soup. Warm tea. One semi sick individual. All the ingredients I needed to make me feel better and to warm my insides, well minus the sick part. I did a little Yelp search in my area and found a few pho places and chose this one because it wasn't a far trip for me, in the rain, on a bicycle. I need a car. The pho was great. C15 was top round and flank. Great broth, green onions, onions, plenty of noodles and of course the accompanying bean sprouts, lime, jalapeños and greens. A simple tea was brought out and even a dessert of mung bean paste, coconut milk and tapioca pearls. It wasn't too sweet and was actually pleasant. The food was some of the better pho I've had here and I do feel better having eaten. Interesting mix of elevator music, lite jazz with some Simon & Garfunkel and the Godfather waltz thrown in. If you come here just get the Pho!! Or the bun Bo hue. Stick with wet noodles. I took my mother here who is very very picky, being that she has cooked pho through many restaurants and can tell if there's too much msg. Impressed with the home made broth advertised here we ordered the special and a side of pepper salted squid. I suggest not getting anything fried here, their specialty is pho. The squid was meh... Small portions especially for so much $$. When our pho orders came they were piping hot! My mom and I downed our bowls, you can definitely tell the broth was made with care because it is so clear with a golden hue that mixes with everything ( its not fat but liquefied marrow from the bones).
