I've been here so many times and the food is always fresh and delicious. The decorations and location of the restaurant is very fun, lots of outside seating. It's in an area where you can get dishes from multiple establishments and share them, that's always fun. I will say that the service was a bit slow, it felt like the staff was a bit preoccupied with certain guests and it took awhile to take our order.

I'd been hearing about Friendship Kitchen for a while and last night we finally tried it out. We are glad we did! It is located among a group of other small restaurants. It's a bit like a stationary food truck. You order at a counter and they bring you your food. They have both vegetarian and meat dishes available and we got a mix of them. The vegetarian had plant based "meat" that was pretty good, if a bit chewy. I got the Shaken Beef and others in our group got salad rolls, shaken "chicken" and "chicken drumsticks". We all enjoyed what we ordered, except the salad rolls which were too heavy on greens and a bit under seasoned. We also ordered a Thai tea and a passion fruit and coconut icy drink. Both were delicious. The service was quite slow. My husband stood in line to order a drink and saw our food sitting under the hot lamps the whole time. We thought they were very understaffed but the small space would make that difficult. Despite slow and inefficient service we will go back because we really enjoyed our meals.

Great patio atmosphere, food was average. My bride and I came on a Sat night around 6:30 and were able to get seated on the patio. The place started to fill up quickly shortly after we arrived. You ordered at the counter and they bring it out to you on the patio. It's a shared patio with two other adjacent restaurants. My bride ordered the Wholesame Plate w/chicken ($18) and I went with the Abundance Bowl w/chicken ($18). We both commented that the actual meals weren't anything to write home about. Seemed on the bland side lacking flavor. My bride also commented about the small serving of pickled vegetables (outlined on the menu). We would likley come back to this patio and try the other two places the next time we come to town.

Absolutely love this place! Wife and I have been a few times now and each meal has been delicious. Went again last night as we were in the mood for pho. I had the beef pho and wow, so flavorful and aromatic. Simple dish with bone broth, noodles and thinly sliced brisket. They also brought out a plate of sprouts, peppers and other garnishes. Highly recommend

Not at all family friendly, FREEZING cold, faulty barstools and high prices. Super fun vibe. They try to channel their inner Miami wishes (we all wish for beaches and palm trees with neon signs and rap music at high volumes dropping the F* bomb every 3rd word). But, maybe they could focus a bit more on the rest of it? Had to role-play Goldilocks and change out the chair 3 times to find one that I didn't feel was going to break. All they have is bar seating but yet a short high chair. They suggested we could sit outside at the picnic tables and even offered to turn the propane heater on but in the middle of winter, I was already freezing inside. I absolutely appreciated the offer though. Speaking of which...it's a shared space so the bathroom is down and around the corner of the building so if it's cold or rainy...be prepared. The food was good. The best I've had in Portland? No. But, if a friend wanted to go for a bowl, I'd be down. Veggies were super fresh, the meat to soup ratio was respectable and the broth was flavorful. But at $20+ a bowl, my wallet was in pain leaving. Would do again - chicken pho, beef pho, cocktail Would not do again - wings

Delicious meal at Friendship Kitchen! I sat outside by the heated lamps with some friends. I ate the Bún Bò Huế and the gluten-free chicken wings. Both were wonderful, especially the wings. I typically don't order Bún Bò Huế everywhere because not all places do it justice, but Friendship Kitchen's is solid; I'd certainly order it again! The service was also good. I honestly can't wait to return and try some more items on the menu (salt & pepper wings, I'm looking at you).

My fav viet spot I had to try the bò né and I'm afraid it is now a staple for me. The bánh mì that came with it was delivered warm! This is my second time visiting and I got the ube mocktail twice, it's super aesthetically pleasing (and delicious!) I went at 8pm on a Friday, they told me it'll be a 20-30 min wait for the food which was worth it.

Walked over here for a Sunday lunch. This is an order at the counter type of place. Super friendly service with some indoor and more outdoor dining. We chose to sit at an outside table because it was such a warm and sunny day. The coco margaritas were beautiful and refreshing. And the crispy crepe was delicious- - not as big as we've had at some places but definitely filled with yum. The wings were large, crisp and juicy. There's a self serve water station. They share bathrooms with the other establishments. Street parking and please bus your table.

We visited Friendship Kitchen just this afternoon and it lived up to its name! The server was very friendly and the overall vibe was relaxed and cheerful. Most of the seating is outside picnic tables (all covered) with a small bar area inside. We ordered the Abundance Bowl with beef, Salt and Pepper Shrimp, BBH which is a spicy lemongrass soup, and N/A Passionfruit Piña Colada. The drink was absolutely the star of the show! I would literally have 5 more if I could. It made you pucker with a bit of tartness that was quickly balanced out by the sweet creaminess of the coconut. I also loved the Abundance Bowl for its flavor and freshness. The BBH was good but insanely spicy if the chili oil is added so be careful. Shrimp were yummy but a little hard to eat since they're fried with the heads, legs, and exoskeleton in tact. Overall, the food was very flavorful and well cooked. We paid $66 for all of those items, which I felt like was reasonable. We ended up taking home two containers of food, so really I think two dishes would've been more appropriate for us. If anything, you can get two meals out of it. I think prices need to be updated on their website so be aware of that when you go. I have a feeling this is a place where a lot of locals go since parking is scarce and a lot of people walk or bike. The neighborhood is cute and the cluster of restaurants that Friendship is a part of are all very quaint. As someone who doesn't live in that area of Portland, I don't know if it stood out enough to go back to, but if you're in the area, it's a great option!

Sat outside in the cold winter but there's a heater. The shaken "beef" with rice was yummy. I like how they use Jasmin rice. The ube colada was delicious too! Quick service too.

The BBH and salt and pepper squid were delightful! I absolutely enjoyed the hot, spicy, delicious BBH broth and bouncy noodles. The wontons were okay and the shaking beef was a tad bit chewy. The cocktails were delicious but could have been stronger. A bit pricey here and they mostly have outdoor seating with very limited indoor seating. Service was quick enough and they brought our food out.

2 plates - took over an hour to come out. We were genuinely one of 2 physical parties sat down - and all online orders were prioritized. Had to keep asking the staff where our order is. Super unfortunate as it was tasty food, but won't be coming back due to poor management. The food was comped since the staff felt bad, but at what cost...

Ordered delivery. The shaking beef was good. However, the salt and pepper shrimp were not cleaned. Took a bite and was surprised that the digestive track was still there. Anyway, grossed me out, so waste of money.

Downtown Portland's hidden gem for authentic Vietnamese!…read more I was walking around downtown Portland and stumbled upon Cuốn Vietnamese Street Food, and honestly, it was the best meal of my week . If you are looking for fresh, flavorful, and satisfying comfort food, do not walk--run to this spot. To get the full experience, we ordered a variety, and every single item was a hit. We started with the Beef Pho, and the broth was the absolute star. It was rich, aromatic, and deeply savory, clearly simmered for hours. It was the perfect dish on a sunny Portland day. We also grabbed a Chicken Banh Mi. The bread had that perfect crispy crust with a soft, airy crumb, and the chicken was grilled to perfection with fresh veggies and herbs. Of course, we had to wash it all down with a creamy, sweet Thai Tea--it was delicious and the perfect end to the meal. Beyond the food, the vibe is great. It's a super clean, casual spot with big windows letting in lots of natural light. It's set up for quick counter service, which makes it perfect for a fast lunch downtown, but the staff is so friendly and welcoming that you feel right at home. It's a family-run business, and you can taste the passion in the food. Highlights: · The Pho Broth: Seriously some of the best in the city. · The Banh Mi: Fresh bread, great fillings. · The Service: Fast, efficient, and incredibly kind. Pro Tip: Don't forget to grab your own utensils and sauces (the chili crisp is a must for the pho), and help yourself to the free self-serve hot tea. It's the little touches like that which make this place a winner. I am already planning my next trip back to try the Crispy Pork Belly. Highly recommend

I selected Pork Belly (their specialty) and lemongrass chicken. The bowl itself is standard Vietnamese fare, nothing special, creative or exciting in that sense. That said, the ingredients tasted fresh and the proteins were very well seasoned and cooked. The pork belly skin had an awesome crunch and you can clearly taste the lemongrass in the chicken. The included spring roll had nice crunch but little flavor. Unfortunately, outside of Pho, Banh Mi and Noodle Bowls, there's sadly not much else to the menu. No Vietnamese salads, stir frys, etc. Either way, what they do make, they seem to make quite well. So, on to my main issue ie, that for a place thats only open for lunch, the prices are a bit too high. I noted about $16 for a Banh Mi sandwich, no sides. Pho was around $20 and my noodle bowl was about $20 as well. Weirdly, its about the same prices as eating lunch back home in Miami, a FAR more expensive city in general. In fact, I've often had more exciting Vietnamese in Manhattan for lower prices. So while its easy to recommend Cuon on quality, its not a top recommendation for lunch value in the PDX which is why Im docking 1 star.

My wife discovered it through a local foodie group after spotting their porridge dish, and it has since become our go-to destination for authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Every visit reminds me of home and satisfies a craving that is otherwise very difficult to find outside of Vietnam. A few practical notes for first-time visitors: reservations are strongly recommended and are almost always necessary, which speaks to the restaurant's popularity and the time-intensive preparation their dishes require. On pricing, expect to pay a premium -- but the quality absolutely justifies the cost. For those who cannot travel to Vietnam, this is perhaps the finest Vietnamese dining experience available outside the country. Highly recommended.

The Paper Bridge - Phở Cuốn: Conceptually, it's a nice dish but $14 for four salty rolls is overpriced.
