Cute little coffee shop with good selection of snacks but very disappointed they don't allow you to use reusable coffee cups.

We love Gladstones! I appreciate that they are always…read moreswitching their menu up, bringing in new items and trying out different things, it keeps us coming back! Everyone who works there is always so friendly, every server we've had has always been so patient and kind with my family. We've been coming here for a year or so, and look forward to many more years to come! The new seating on the patio looks great and my daughter and I can't wait to come have lunch and check it out for ourselves. Thank you Gladstones for creating a sweet little oasis for our little town.

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. I absolutely loved the atmosphere and was glad to see there was separate bar area. The breakfast menu has the typical items, but I was in the mood for the Basic Breakfast. I went with the bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and toast. My mom decided on the Veggie Omelet. I was surprised neither of us got the Chicken Fried Steak. We both enjoyed a couple of Bloody Mary's. Always a good addition to a Sunday breakfast and they tasted great. Honestly, this was a great breakfast. The bacon and eggs were cooked perfectly. The bacon was a little thicker. It wasn't the see thru bacon you get from the chains. The hashbrown were golden brown. The omelet tasted great as well. If you're looking for higher end breakfast food on Alberta in Portland, maybe this isn't the place. But if you're looking for a good breakfast, Gladstone's doesn't disappoint. I will certainly be back to try the Chicken Fried Steak. The service here was great as well. Plus was plenty of encouragement to order more than one Bloody Mary. Enjoy!

How have I not known about Canard? What a gem in our city!…read more First, the decor was lovely. I was in awe of the dried flower bouquet on that wall. I booked on OpenTable and added a note that my mother needed a wall to place her crutches against, and they gave us 2 options. Very kind of them, and the gentleman helped my mother get situated. Service was exceptional. Food menu seemed light but enough of a variety to choose from, and it all was absolutely delicious. Had the drink School for Ants which the taste was of perfection. For lunch we shared the pears and goat cheese which by far was my favorite dish. Also ordered the ricotta gnocchi which I thought the bourguignon was a little strong but I believe that's normal, so it's just my personal preference. The Tokyo hot chicken tenders were tender and juicy, and the honey and sauce paired well together. Shout out to the staff that brought our forgotten to go box to our car. My mother wants to go back, so you won us both over!

And it wasn't real Salisbury steak either. It was quite bland and chewy. Fries were decent but drowning in a layer of oil on the plate. I'm used to laurelhurst steak house so maybe my expectations have been set high. But, I wasn't impressed with the food, especially for the price.

I've gone about 4 times in the last 2 years. Every time trying to space out the amount of time to see if they train up their crew or turn over their current crew and get a new one. Nope. We are sat and ignored by the 3 servers that are walking around for 10 minutes before we are even acknowledged and water is brought to our table. I honestly dont even think there were 10 groups in customers seated. After we got our water we were told 2 times by 2 different servers that our server would be with us in a few minutes. We watched a man and his son get seated and drinks ordered and on their table before we got ours and had already been there for some time. When we did finally get our server over there, he was great. Which is why I gave 2 stars. The food was also good. But the coffee.. if you can even call it that.. they either are cutting costs by using half the grounds or concentrate that they are supposed to, or they are mixing it with hot water. The coffee is barely brown and tastes like nothing. Years ago, when I used to frequent the one on Johnson Creek, I used to love going there and chatting over breakfast with my coffee. If I do ever go to a biscuits again, I certainly won't order the "coffee" because its a waste of money. Its sad. I dont know what happening to the chain, but there are too many breakfast places around to settle for mediocre service and hot water that they call coffee. Im at home right now drinking a cup of real coffee.
