We lived in Oregon and this was a quick, affordable meal. The meal comes with bread and salad, which is great. The portion of the pastas are generous. I usually get the pasta fresca and it's always good. My husband will order the Cajun jambalaya and it's so much food. It can get really busy, so I'd recommend calling ahead of time. This is one on those places that the out side dose not do it just the food and the setting should be in some nice old part of town from the beautiful Italian inspired art work to the taste every item that I got was full of flavor . I used to go to Pasta Pronto during lunch often over a decade ago when my office was nearby. Last week, I decided to come back for lunch. The menu is largely the same. My old favorite was the blue ribbon salad or cajun pasta. I had the pasta and it was just as I remembered it. The fresh bread was still warm and as good as before. The place is quaint and a bit of a "hole in the wall" as it is in a strip mall. BUT, they have done a great job with the design. We were greeted promptly and placed our order at the counter. Quick payment and we were off to the table. Note: You grab your own silverware and fill you own drinks. The food came out quickly. Bread. Salad. Main course. Not a bad deal. This is one of those places where you order and pay at the counter, are given a number and the food is brought to your table. You fetch your own water/ soda, silverware and napkins. The dining room is small. There are boxes stacked up in the far corner that ruin the atmosphere a bit. Putting up a curtain to cover this space would help. The lady at the counter has always been pleasant and efficient. The food comes to the table almost too fast. We've barely begun eating our salads when our entrees arrive. In Europe salad is eaten after the main course and that's the best way to enjoy it here, otherwise your entree will get cold. The menu offers something for everyone and they are happy to make substitutions if needed. As a vegetarian, I always appreciate this. Meals are served with bread and salad. While the food is not gourmet Italian, it certainly is tasty and well worth the fair prices charged. Great place for pasta in a casual setting. This place has a variety of pasta dishes and sandwiches on the menu. We placed an order for takeout and it took about 20 minutes for the order to be ready. We ordered a couple of pasta dishes; both dishes were still hot when we were about to eat. The pastas came with bread which were still warm as well. I've been going here intermittently for a free years, and I'm not disappointed. As someone with a gluten intolerance, I am thrilled they have a delicious, nicely textured gluten free penne. I brought my mom in the other day for a sit down meal. She was so impressed with the bread, I cheated on my diet to try it and wow. It was out-of-this-world fresh, warm, and high quality. Perfect texture and flavor for an Italian meal. I also opted to try a new meal for me: the Cajun chicken pasta. It was so uniquely scrumptious. We had a small snafu where my mom received chicken parm when she ordered eggplant, but it was immediately remedied with expedience, kindness, and above and beyond service. Environment: It was a little small area but it was very clean and bright. There were tables for 2-4 people but you can move the tables around if you have a larger party. You order at the front and then the server will come and give you bread and silverware. You get your own water and drinks. Staff: very friendly and nice. Food: #1: We got Bolognese for $9.25. It was simple but the flavor of the tomato sauce was very nice. The linguine was al dente. #2: Clam sauce without the extra cheese on top- $9.25. I was hoping the clam sauce would have more spices/herb flavor like the other restaurant who has clam sauce. However, it was kind of bland, just a hint of cheese but it felt fairly heavy. I was a little sad because I was hoping it would taste...better. There was a good amount of tiny chopped clams but it didn't have flavor on its own. What I did: made pink sauce! Mixing the bolognese and the cheesy clam sauce made it less heavy. I think combining it together made it taste better. The portion was okay but if the price was $0.50-$0.75 cheaper I think it would appeal to more people. I do have to say the texture of the pasta is far better than other places and they make it for your right after you order so it's hot and fresh. They also have sandwiches, soups, and other specialties too. I would come back again once in awhile, when I really am craving for pasta. read more

The pasta dishes followed in less than ten minutes. We had the Chicken Parmesan, Pumpkin Ravioli, and Cajun Chicken with Asparagus. Everything was HOMEMADE and delicious. The sauce was flavor less. Also, while they have dine in tables available, they won't tell you when your food is ready. They ask you to place order before sitting down. You would do that, too good, then you will sit down thinking you would get your food, but no, they will leave it on the pick up shelf, they will not tell you it's there. Leave alone the courtesy of bringing it to the table. We were the only table sitting close to their order counter. How can you just ignore a family sitting there after they placed the order with you? I really enjoy pasta pronto. In Portland/Beaverton it's my favorite Italian food. My go to dish is bolognese with penne pasta. The sauce has carrots and is sweet with some herbs and spices. I add a lot of red crushed pepper because I enjoy the sweet spicy combo. Bread is tasty and goes great with the pastas. To me it's not traditional Italian which is why I like it. A lot of places have no flavor to the sauce and they claim its traditional to just have tomatoes and salt for the sauce. I don't care for that style. On 20 visits or so I have only had one average meal. The rest of the times it has been excellent. Service is always wonderful. read more

Fusilli with roasted garlic, caramelized butter and olive oil with added sautéd mushrooms. Xtra cheese and Xtra sauce. First, I ordered this through Uber Eats. Delivery was awesome as always. Food was still hot and it was delivered pretty fast. 2nd. The only thing you could taste was garlic. Burned garlic. LOTS of burned garlic. There was at least one full head of roasted garlic (it looked like a lot more) scattered through out the pasta in full cloves AND the sauce had an enormous amount of finely chopped RAW garlic. You couldn't taste the browned butter at all. In order to taste anything other than garlic, I had to add salt as it appeared to not have any. The bread though was hot, fresh and utterly delicious. The pasta itself was cooked properly and the portion for one was a good sized portion. Very disappointed. I will try them again, but not with this burned and raw garlic sauce. read more

Had a good couple of meals at Pasta Pronto. At lunch time they had a brisk take-out service but we stayed inside, dined like adults. The chicken Marsala came with a salad and freshly baked bread and butter. The very generous portion with a wine sauce and mushrooms was ladled over fettuccini noodles. Hubby had the chicken parm, also over noodles. Another generous portion. For under $20 each we dined well, enjoyed the air conditioning and had leftovers to take home. From outside it doesn't look bright, almost thought they were closed- but don't let that fool you! Inside is a bright interior with real flowers at each table that has a simple feel that can be great for solo diners or a group. A casual but not casual kind of feel too. For a light dinner I got the soup of the day (corn chowder) and small caesar salad. Order at the counter, grab your own silverware and find a table. Bread with butter was thick, warm, and fresh soft- a nice way to start the meal. The soup was not too sweet and appreciated how it was chunky as a chowder should be- additional veggies of potato and onion. The salad was light and wasn't overly dressed in a chilled plate, not as salty as other places which is a plus. The food from what I've tried works for me but the service is what is top notch as I noticed. Two employees who took orders fast, cleaned tables off, and remembered little details of the customer or order, though it was dinner rush (both in the restaurant and for online/to go orders). They were attentive. One thing I noticed was the odd layout with a semi open kitchen. Walking in there isn't a menu board but a laminated menu copies to look at, then you order at the counter. I can see it getting crowded and tight as you order and pick up to go orders at the same spot. The drinks are at the far end, a little hidden too, but I like the casual atmosphere of kind of being self serve too.
