We ate here a couple of months ago the service was good and the food was excellent. Since then my husband has had Giovanni's pizza delivered to the house. It's the only pizza that is not dripping grease, you know the cardboard box it came in is all greasy and gross. We are going to have pizza and salad delivered to night. I can't wait have been out of town for the holidays (road trip) and basically haven't had a decent meal in 4 days! Really looking forward to good Italian. A solid Italian restaurant with no frills- just straight tasty, hearty Italian portions/serving size at a decent price with traditional recipes, nothing fancy. Depending on what you order, you are bound to bring home leftovers unless you come with an appetite for 3. Trust me! Especially the latter of what we ordered. So we got the meatball sandwich which was as expected, meaty, saucy, and the melted cheese on top was ooey gooey pull apart status. We also ordered the beef ravioli + spaghetti combo which was traditional and tasty, ravioli was cooked perfectly al dente. Last but definitely not least, was the chicken Giovanni- served on basically a heated platter, it had at least 2 breaded chicken breasts smothered in mushroom Alfredo with melted cheese on top and a separate plate of pasta w/meaty or mushroom marinara sauce. Did I mention not only were the meals huge but your meal also comes with soup or salad and a slice of garlic bread? O_O Service was friendly, the place was packed full of dine-in patrons and people picking up to-go orders ... you know a good staple when you see one, and Giovanni is definitely the Italian gem of Beaverton. We uber eats delivery because we were lazy pieces today! Let me tell you I am BLOWN AWAY at how hot and delicious everything was. Fettuccini Alfredo and fettuccini pesto were massive and rich. I had never had a bad meal at this restaurant. In the last 20 years, but yesterday I did. I came in with my son and grandson. My grandson had tortellini, which he enjoyed very much. My son had Lasagna which he enjoyed very much. I had a chicken parmesan sandwich, which I did not enjoy at all. First off, what's with the sauce in a bowl? The sauce goes on the chicken patty, which should be soaked in sauce and then cheese on top of it.But no, it was like you left a bunch of stuff off.Anyway, I now know not to order or recommend that item. I wheel in the front door the doors are hard to navigate you open one door you go uphill to the next door. Awkward. I have been here before there are always people waiting in line for to go orders for pizza. I wait a minute or two and I am seating. My seat next to the front door facing a wall. I asked if I could be seated at another place they said if you can sit in a booth if not this is all we have. I take the seat facing the wall. I asked to be seated in the back area I was told it was not open. Only a few minutes later they open the back area literally I was served water at that point my wine did not arrive nor my wait person. I ordered the spaghetti and wine. The wine Villa Pozzi Nero D'Avola. A red wine at first I smelled diesel fuel... just sitting in the glass. But it opened up as the meal progressed. Turned out to be a decent wine. It is from Southern Italy, Sicily. All respect to the wine makers and the choice from Giovanni's. The wait staff part of the family very knowledgeable about Italy they still have family in the heel of the boot. The spaghetti and sauce. I had ordered half mushroom and half meat sauce. I could not find the meat sauce. So I guess that there was an error on the delivery. The spaghetti itself lots of water in the base of the plate. Overall I would not order that again. The garlic toast. Is that toast or even bread? The decor some really nice pictures on the wall. The music drowned out by the noise. Most of the staff dressed run slightly worn black clothes. I don't crave pizza often which is likely because we really do not have great pizza options around. It is mostly a creation that is not horrible but just makes you long for really good pizza. My expectations are pretty low when I am craving it. I wanted an ok pizza delivered and when scrolling through the app for some food delivered I decided to give Giovanni's a go because the used the magic word 'cannoli' and that is something I cannot get at any other pizza place, to the best of my knowledge. I have to say that if I was going off the cannoli alone I would be reporting five stars because those were amazing!! Something I cannot forgive is burnt pizza... the smell alone. That is what was sent to me and for the amount of money the charge for pizza that pisses me off more. It also means I am not going to bother trying to go to your restaurant again. I ordered a margarita figuring I was in for a treat from a place I had been meaning to try for awhile and was excited until it arrived. It is even worse for delivery because I am not going to stiff my delivery person for the restaurant screwing up so now I have no dinner or have to pay to get something from somewhere else pushing out food etc... when at a place you can complain and send it back. I was genuinely shocked seeing a near BLACK pizza when I opened the box - like what did I do to piss of the cook because this is not just slightly overcooked but BURNT... Me and my family make the trip to eat at Giovanni's atleast 2x a year the staff is 110% amazing ALWAYS the food is just perfection but iv noticed they always always always mess up the order or forget something (we have takeout orders) so that really sucks when you are expecting food but it's not in there and it's not like we can just go back and get it we come from across Oregon to eat here So 7/10 would recommend just eat inside and you'll have an amazing time read more

Hidden gem!! The pictures made me skeptical but when I tried the food, it was delicious! The pasta was not greasy and good portion, rich In flavor. The meatball sandwich was really good as well! Customer service was top notch:) super friendly and attentive. The ambiance is really chill and old school vibes, like in the movies where the family gathers after a game. Total time 1:37 minutes till finally we got our food The food is very good, the waitress fantastic but the hostess needs training. BIG TIME ! She needs to know give customer attitude and rolling her eyes is not good. Nick (owner) I asked for you to say hi and to let you know what happened,but you were on vacation! Randomly stumbled upon this place when we were looking for Italian restaurants in the area. They quoted us a 20-25 min wait on a Saturday night, but we probably waited no more than 10 minutes before they seated us at a booth. I ordered the fettuccine al pesto and it came with a side salad and garlic bread. I upgraded to cheese garlic bread. If you like cheese - ask for the upgrade because it's worth it! It was about a 40 minute wait for our food once we sat down, but it didn't feel that long because we had side salads to tide us over in the meantime. Service was excellent and they constantly kept my water glass filled. Come hungry because the portions are BIG. If I could eat here again, I'd definitely get the pizza instead. I saw another table order some and it looked delicious. Parking is available in a small lot outside the restaurant. If you don't see any spots open, just wait a minute and someone will leave because I noticed they do A LOT of takeout orders. Great experience and value. My daughter and I visited Giovanni's and found the food very tasty, and the service by Dorothy was superb. She was extremely friendly and engaging and was also timely in her service. My daughter had the Spaghetti Carbonara and I had the Combo Chicken Parmigiana and Lasagna. Both were large in portions and so good. The salads before the main courses had the perfect amount of dressing. The bottle of Da Vinci Chianti was also quite tasty. And finally, the Cannoli was the perfect ending to a very nice meal. It appeared more people order the legendary pizza at this restaurant and many were picking up orders to go as well. The only hiccup occurred when we were being sat. The hostess intended to seat us in the back room and I asked if we could seat at the open booth in the front dining room. She responded that the server had a couple of new tables and insisted we sit at the table she was taking us to. After going into the seating area, I restated my desire to sit at the booth I pointed out originally. She succumbed, and basically laid the menus in the middle of the table for us.
