    Spaghetti Carbonara with Caesar Salad
    Rick K.

Great visit to Pastini yesterday with a friend of many years. I had not been to Pastini for several years, last time about 20 years ago to the restaurant on NE Broadway. They have grown considerably and it is obvious why. My wife and I moved to Seattle for 17 years and since coming back this year, I have had Pastini on my to do list. The restaurant had a perfect vibe. It just felt good. Silvia was terrific. So friendly and understanding of us not having any time constraints. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara with a Caesar Salad. It was on the special lunch menu and was only $13.00. The Carbonara had great flavor and I made the comment to my friend that I could have had that in a "upscale restaurant" and not be disappointed. It was that good. I will be back for dinner with my wife as well.

It's been awhile since I visited a Pastini. We came here for a quick lunch and liked that they have a lunch special menu which was reasonably priced. The option came with a pasta dish and a side of soup or salad for $13. I had the Linguini with spicy pepperonata chicken and a side of field greens salad. The food was decent and good portion for lunch. I also ordered some garlic bread and marinara sauce to go with it. The service was pretty friendly and the food came out quick. I would come here again for lunch.

Excellent on all levels. Great location and great service. My wife and I found a lot of great options on the menu, and the prices are vey reasonable (though soup or salad are extra). I had the PAPPARDELLE WITH MEAT SAUCE BOLOGNESE and she had the BAKED ZITI WITH ITALIAN SAUSAGE. We were pleased they had gluten free options for my wife (at no extra charge). Both dishes were excellent. My pasta was fresh. You can just tell. Also, the ragu contained chunks of shredded meat (not ground beef). Such great flavor. My wife commented that the GF pasta was very good, too. We were pleased with the prices. Everything just hit all the marks. We will be back

This is my first time here but I've heard great things since their reopening. We had reservations on a Friday night for a group and we were promptly welcomed and seated towards the front of the restaurant. The vibe is very cozy and romantic, so a great place for a date. Their drinks are so pretty and have seasonal specials as well. There were so many pasta options to choose from but I decided on the spicy sausage one. The portions were generous but some of friends did finish theirs because it was that tasty! The bread and appetizers were delicious as well and maybe we will need to come back to check out their dessert menu. Give this place a try when you are craving pasta!

Ordered ahead of time for pick up today and waited an additional 10 minutes for my food. Being new to the area I was excited to try out a cute little pasta restaurant but based off how my food came out I'm pretty disappointed I just paid $22 for this. There might be 9 raviolis total here and I'm just not sure how that is justifiable. Not only that but all of the grease or oil completely leaked out of the Togo box leaving the paper bag soaked. Not my favorite experience and probably won't be ordering here again.

Just ordered Carbonara lunch special and garlic breads. Been loving their Carbonara from here over the years. Carbonara was great as usual, but the garlic breads were not. They were burnt and one of the breads had a residue of tomato sauce on it. Didn't eat these breads at all. Not very pleased.

We got some drinks and started off with their Caesar salad and the fried polenta. The Caesar was good, but I wished we had more leaves for the price. The polenta fries were very tasty, not amaaaazing and super salty. They didn't need the blue cheese butter dip at all. For dinner we tried the smoked salmon squid ink pasta and the cioppino. The cioppino was alright, one perk was that the shellfish was already pulled out of the shell, and had a lot of small pieces of squid but I would have preferred bigger squid pieces. And more bread to go with it. The smoked salmon pasta was very rich and heavy. It was good but it too benefited from some bread to go with all that savory salty goodness. Service was also okay, nothing special. We to flag down staff to get more bread. Overall, not amazing, not terrible. Decarli fell short of my expectations. There are plenty of other amazing Italian places in Portland that would rather make the trip out for.

Depending on what you order, you are bound to bring home leftovers unless you come with an appetite for 3. Trust me! Especially the latter of what we ordered. So we got the meatball sandwich which was as expected, meaty, saucy, and the melted cheese on top was ooey gooey pull apart status. We also ordered the beef ravioli + spaghetti combo which was traditional and tasty, ravioli was cooked perfectly al dente. Last but definitely not least, was the chicken Giovanni- served on basically a heated platter, it had at least 2 breaded chicken breasts smothered in mushroom Alfredo with melted cheese on top and a separate plate of pasta w/meaty or mushroom marinara sauce. Did I mention not only were the meals huge but your meal also comes with soup or salad and a slice of garlic bread? Dearest gentle readers,…read more A most scandalous correction must be issued how careless of me. The establishment in question is none other than the divine Grassa, a name that now rolls off the tongue with the same richness as its most indulgent fare. And oh, what fare it is. Here, along the lively stretch of Portland, one may witness noodles brought to life before their very eyes fresh, authentic, and handled with a confidence that borders on audacity. These delicate strands are then enrobed in a mac and cheese so decadently composed, so brazenly elevated, that it dares to redefine comfort itself. And just when one believes it cannot be improved enter the pig belly. Crisp, tender, and unapologetically rich... a finishing touch that transforms the dish into something whispered about in only the most exclusive of circles. Yes, dear reader, this is the sort of indulgence that lingers long after the final bite... the kind that ruins lesser versions without remorse. And so, with that final truth properly set, I take my leave once more. The tales of this fair city draw to a close, but not without leaving behind a most delicious legacy. Until our next adventure ever eastward. Yours most faithfully,
