I had a mad craving for Italian food yesterday and saw that this place was nearby and they had decent ratings. So we gave it a try. We were able to dine in-I noticed that all the staff wore masks, every other table was closed and the bathroom had a strong bleach smell. In other words, these guys take cleanliness seriously. I appreciate that. My wife and I each ordered off the lunch menu and had appropriately sized meals. I was avoiding dairy, so our server pointed me to the spaghetti with spicy sausage and mushrooms. It was not nearly as spicy as I anticipated, but it was still good. The Italian vegetable soup was a little bland. My wife had the lasagna and said the flavor was very good. She had garlic hanging with her for the afternoon. The service was ok-but we did have to ask for our drinks to be refilled, which took awhile after being acknowledged. By the time he filled our drinks, we were done with our food. Otherwise, things were fine. read more

Great time, quick efficient service, we both ordered from the lunch menu, we also got a tiramisu - there's enough to share but your might want your own! Our server was fast and gave us the perfect timing between reading the menu and ordering because we were hungry! Be patient, this is also a busy spot specially during lunch time when they have the $11.75 lunches available! read more

Thank you, Pastini, for a great evening with your soft re-opening! We know you didn't need to offer your customers the entire menu for free, and the gesture isn't lost on us. We've been coming to your locations for years and only plan to ramp that up with Cedar Hills being back in business. Again, thank you for a great night, and we look forward to many more years of happy pasta memories! read more

Meatball appetizer: they were much better than last time! Are they still worth almost $3 per meatball? Ehhhh..... Special of the day: pork in risotto Risotto had GREAT flavor! And they give you a lot. The pork itself had somewhat of a flat flavor unfortunately although the chili flakes helped give it CPR. Texture was very hard. Wouldn't order again. Spumoni ice cream decent but also flat 2-2.5/5 I'd try other flavors first. Bread had good flavor but was a bit too tough. Service was par. Overall 3.5/5 rounded up for the ambiance, view of the open kitchen, and that it wasn't too loud. read more

Never again. The food was served so fast (five minutes after ordering) and lacked flavor. Place was packed and that's because they do have a good 13.00 lunch deal but it's just not very flavorful food and so rushed. I never need to add salt to my restaurant food but this time we did. The bread is thrown on the plate with no olive oil, balsamic or butter. Just dry bread. My husband immediately had stomach cramps after his meal and so we rushed home. He ordered carbonara with Caesar. I'm glad I just ordered the tasteless pesto. Not a relaxing environment at all. Waitress moved fast which is fine -- but so fast she wanted my husband's beverage order within one minute of being seated and he was in the restroom. I asked her to just start with serving us water please. Which she did. But everything felt fast, rushed and she was bustling full speed serving tables. My glass of wine was great! Although I never did get the side of ice I asked for. Oh well... read more

If I had to title this review... I'd title it "Mediocre At Best". I came here with my girlfriend to grab a quick bite, because we heard that it was good from friends. We arrived in time for lunch and we ordered a pesto dish, a spaghetti dish and garlic bread on the side. My pesto dish was missing the pesto for sure, but it did have a lot of vegetables. My girlfriend had a similar experience as her spaghetti was full of sun dried tomatoes but void of noodles. They should rename the "Garlic Bread" as unbuttered toast because that's what we got. Never have I been to an Italian restaurant and left hungry and not needed a breath mint (oh they didn't have any mints either). read more

I love their food. I don't think I've ever had an issue with staff and it's almost always clean. I can't remember if the noodles are egg free but I believe their Alfredo sauce is. I believe they are on food delivery apps if that helps. I haven't been in awhile but I definitely recommend. It's a little pricy but since it's good it's worth it when you can. read more

This place was pretty consistent compared to the other Pastini restaurant we have tried. Some of our favorite dishes here are the alfredo and the meatball spaghetti pasta. The service here was pretty good. Highly recommended for any pasta lover! Great to come with kids as they also offer kids menu which comes with a free drink. read more

I really liked my meal but it's definitely a little bland. My husband was not a fan and said his meal had no flavor. I would be back if I'm in the mood for a quick Italian meal but don't have high expectations. It's definitely not high quality Italian but it's good enough. Service was great though! read more

Before Covid, this was a place we dined frequently before a movie. While I don't ever select chain restaurants as my first choice, when you are part of a group, you make accommodations. Pastini is right around the corner from the movie theatre and has a variety of options to accommodate everyone so it's a safe, good choice. Plus they have wine! Have also come here with groups of adults and teenagers for the same reason; everyone can find something on the menu pleasing to their palette. Coming from a first generation Italian family, I'm super picky about Italian food. To set the stage, I do not consider Olive Garden Italian Food!!! Pastini is way above Olive Garden in comparison. Typically I order the Penne with sausage. It's a very hearty dish, the penne is cooked perfectly al dente and the sauce is flavorful. Well, done! I've also had the Pappardelle Bolognese. For a chain restaurant, they do a great job with this classic dish serving a rich meat ragu the traditional way, on pappardelle, the long, wide, flat noodles perfect for soaking up this sauce. The Fusilli Allan Roma is also delicious! Fusilli corkscrew pasta combined with grilled chicken, sweet sun dried tomatoes, and artichoke hearts (which I love) in a Parmesan cream sauce is the perfect combo. Both the Cesar salad (great croutons) and house salads are very tasty, perfect starters! And the garlic bread is buttery, crisp and oh, so decadent! The staff here is great. In the days where restaurants were crowded, they always managed our group efficiently, getting everyone started with drink orders first, bringing out salads and starters in the right order with enough time in between before the main entrees arrived. During Covid they are doing delivery and curbside pickup. Since I can make my own Italian dishes at home, and this locations isn't close to my house, I haven't tried these options. But as soon as it's safe to go back to the movies, my friends and I will meet here for dinner and then catch a movie. Amazing how something as simple and common as that, will be such a welcomed treat! Hopefully in the not too distance future. read more

Located in a strip mall, like Portland's version of Olive Garden, but not as good. Service: Seated for 15 minutes until waiter came to our table. Waiter apologized and was very helpful after. Ambience: Small, but nice. Dim lighting. A little nicer than Olive Garden ambience. Good spot for a causal weekday dinner. Food: Ordered the Linguini Pesto Pollo, Linguini Piccata, Cavatappi Primavera, and Pappardelle with Meat Sauce Bolognese. Huge portions, but quality of food was subpar. Could have made a better meal at home. The marina and Alfredo sauces were really thin and very watered down, had no flavor. The pastas tasted like boxed grocery store pasta. The ciabatta bread was very bland too. Price: Prices were not worth it for the quality of the food. Main dish only came with 2 pieces of ciabatta bread, no soup or salad. read more

this restaurant is the most unsanitary and dirty place I've ever been, i consistently get dirty utensils with chunks of cheese and food on them? like how are these being cleaned and placed in utensil sets? even if a utensil was actually cleaned, it's now contaminated by the dirty ones. I've given many chances to this place, but a few days ago I got a refill on my drink right after paying. I didn't think to check the glass, and drank from the cup. upon looking closer, I see an ENTIRE LIPSTICK STAIN FROM SOMEONES MOUTH ON MY CUP. Bro... when I say I almost threw up and passed out man I was so sick LIKE WHAT. it wasn't smeared or smudged at all, like there was no evidence of any attempt of cleaning, it was straight up freshly done, as if I just had placed my mouth on a glass (except it wasn't mine, it was someone else who had a drink). I was drinking through a straw, so yeah no chance of it being me. I legit swear I could taste the leftover of whatever drink was in there bro. I was already nauseous from the curdled Alfredo, and seeing that after I took a sip ruined my mood. Man it was so nasty I can't even describe it, I have a weaker immune system and some health issues, I really hope I don't get a serious disease from this-- i attached the photo I had, though it doesn't show the full mark read more

I love this place! Really good pasta. My favorite is the Spaghetti Aglio e Olio. "A simple classic with sautéed garlic, olive oil, fresh basil, chili flakes, parmesan". Also exceptional, the spaghetti with (light and tasty) meatballs. The sauce is perfect. Not too spicy but enough to be tasty. Mondays they have a spaghetti and meatballs special. Great deal. And the Parmesan bread is very good too. I've been to both the Bridgeport & Cedar Hills locations for to go. Oh and the meatball sandwich is simple and so wonderful!! Reasonably priced for exceptional food. Give Pastini a try! read more

Pastini is now part of the Shrinkflation phenomena. Lower portions, higher prices. They have maintained the quality of food, but feeling hungry an hour or so after eating at Pastini isn't normal. We walked out of Pastini yesterday feeling unfulfilled - didn't enjoy as much as we usually do. Basically, Pastini wants you to order more food, more appetizers, more drinks, which all leads to more money for them and less for us. Instead of going every month with my family, I will now be going every three months. If you want to look for an alternative to Pastini, then I would recommend Nona Emelia's, which has not yet been hit by the Shrinkflation bug. read more

Came in during happy hour for dinner at 5pm on a Tuesday and 2 booths filled, it was nice to have a host at the front who was excited about happy hour because that made me excited, and was taken back to a table. The server got my drink order which was a berry ginger lime sparkler ($4) which was recommended as I was looking for something refreshing but light. A great choice and since I haven't had carbonated drinks in quite some time, this was just perfect! I had a hard time deciding what to order and my server was patient with me, I finally decided on the roasted artichoke spread and fettuccini alfredo, $5 each. The food came out in 10 minutes and I dug into the alfredo first! Cheesy and a hint of the pepper with perfectly cooked noodles was just what I was looking for. It came with what seems like the end piece of bread but wasn't mad about it as I had the artichoke spread. The spread came with six pieces of thick bread, enough for 2 or 3 people I would say. The artichoke spread itself was bland in flavor as I could taste more of the grilled thick bread. I wish there was more natural artichoke flavor instead of just the cheese itself, as I couldn't taste the garlic either. I got a to go box for leftover bread and spread as my server kindly reminded me that I didn't have to finish everything. I was full but couldn't pass up on dessert. They had vanilla or chocolate gelato, and spumoni ice cream. I got the spumoni ice cream and it was two scoops with pistachio and cherry pieces to add a bit more texture. Once the bill came, I was surprised to see that the ice cream was $5.50 but with two pretty big scoops and of how delicious it was I got over it. All in all, I was checked on multiple times and the server had great timing on service. I really enjoyed the kindness of the host even when I was leaving as I was offered a carry out bag with my boxed artichoke spread. I really like the menu too as it isn't too extensive and lots of options, even for drinks too. Alcohol based drinks and lots of non-alcoholic drinks, that even tell you if you get free refills. An enjoyable first experience and with many weekly specials, I can see myself coming back! read more

I think I like this location more than others - knowing they are a chain, there's still some differences I noted. I always enjoy Pastini, but this location seems to put a better ratio of sauce to pasta - usually I find other locations a bit light on the sauce, but this location actually gets the ratio right in that I can taste the sauce AND the pasta, and the dish is not dry. COVID measures are in place for dining in - they have reduced capacity, menuless ordering available (via QR code if you prefer), and everyone wears masks. Our food came out quickly - but not TOO quickly (oftentimes our pasta has come out just as we started on our salads - but here it was timed MUCH better!) Staff was friendly and service was prompt. read more

Visited 6/28/2022: The food was good, but Pastini has started this truly tacky process when it's time to pay the bill. They come to your table carrying a digital device and ANNOUNCE the total for everyone at the table to hear. I had taken my son and his GF out for his birthday dinner and this was very off-putting. C'mon, Pastini. You're classier than this. read more

Great price for lunch menu! The spaghetti and Caesar salad was a great combo and good portions. However, I feel like portions are smaller/larger depending on what you order. I can't believe it took us a year to make it back here. We are doing keto right now and it's difficult to eat out. We decided on Pastini because we remember they had tasty salads, so I went in prepared to order one. To my surprise, right there at the bottom were low carb options. Zoodles! What a smart move on their part! That wasn't all...sauteed fresh spinach and chopped broccolini were the other low carb alternatives. I went with the Linguini Piccata because I thought it would be the most keto friendly choice. Those zoodles really make you forget that you aren't eating real pasta, other than the lack of guilt. I'm happy to say that they are now on our keto-friendly restaurant rotation. read more

I've been here well over 10 times in the last 10 years and I always like going here because the prices of the dishes are reasonable and a little cheaper compared to other places you go and that doesn't mean the foods gonna taste bad either because the flavors are just as good as other restaurants in the area! Service is great and always attentive to the customer. I love getting the creamy Alfredo as it just satisfies all that buttery goodness that's inside of it with the herbs and it's just got that tender chicken in each bite. Pastini is always one of my favorite Italian spots in the area, so I had to bring the family here when they were in town for my mom's birthday. Usually I frequent the Bridgeport location, but this one was closer to my parents hotel. Came early to see if we could get a table and the girl at the front was super helpful in accommodating our party of 6--only had to wait approx 15 minutes. Service was exceptional, as the blond waitress was very friendly and helpful from the start. She recommended the vino la quercia montepulciano d'abruzzo to go with our meal and it was a crowd pleaser. I got the baked ziti like always and it didn't disappoint. Didn't miss a beat, drinks were always refilled and courses were timed perfectly even though the restaurant seemed busy. Look at this hot garbage of a meal they served me. I started eating my pasta and next thing you know I'm struggling to find my appetite because of the moistness at the bottom of my noodles (soup). NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN. Waited an hour and for my gruesome, awful, sour, abominable, distasteful bowl of soup (trying very hard to be a pasta). Don't come here unless you like eating dogshit. The sauce was like of a witch that threw a rats carcass containing strands of the bubonic plague, a cats urine, a barf flavored bean-boozled, and a sprinkle of cockroach droppings, all mixed into a heavily used Porta Potty located underneath the burnside bridge. The chef was very innovative with the way he conveys the Portland atmosphere into his barbaric sauce thing creation. The server we had tho was very nice, loved her! read more

BC (Before Covid) we dined in, this time we tried curbside pickup. The online ordering was a tad confusing and I couldn't tell if they were serving off the regular dinner menu or not so we phoned in our order instead. All went smoothly. Drove up to the designated parking space, called to let them know we were there and our food was quickly brought out by a properly masked wait person. Our order was very well packaged and still piping hot by the time we got it home (about a 15 minute drive). I was a little hesitant doing takeout pasta as all I could imagine was a cold congealed mass of carbohydrate, unfit for human consumption. Thankfully I was wrong. I tried the Spaghetti Carbonara since this is THE dish I use to judge good or great Italian restaurants: creamy Parmesan sauce, bacon, sweet peas, cracked black pepper, grated Parmesan ($16). I wouldn't call it a great dish as I suspect there was cream used in the sauce (a real no-no IMHO) but the menu did say "creamy Parmesan sauce" so I kinda knew what I was in for. Pastini's version of Carbonara is very good but as I said, not great, and I did enjoy it. My husband had the Linguini Misto Mare: shrimp, white fish with lemon, butter, garlic and white wine, Parmesan ($16.50). Perfectly cooked. We also got two orders of the Parmesan bread: a rustic baguette toasted with herb-garlic butter and Parmesan, served with side of marinara sauce ($6.50). It was my mistake ordering it since I wanted the garlic bread that had no cheese or marinara sauce. Oh, well, live and learn. If you like cheesy bread, this is the bread for you. Very good for what it was and a HUGE portion. And to make ourselves feel better about all the carbs and cheese, we ordered a side of broccolini sautéed in garlic and olive oil with fresh herbs ($5.50). It was superb! I sooo miss dining in restaurants! Interacting with wait staff, scanning wine lists, people-watching. Until then, I refuse to give bad Yelp reviews because I know everyone is doing the very best they can under these COVID circumstances. Better days are ahead and we are all in this together. Cheers Pastini, we'll be back! read more

When I think Italian.... Olive Garden is the furthest from my mind. This place is Italian. ITs a cute corner joint so when it's light out there's a lot of natural light but the night time mood is definitely good for a date night or a celebration. Parking is easy, it's a busy shopping center but plenty of parking. There was a short wait but to me that's a good sign. People like to eat here, they like it enough to wait at least. Our server was pleasant, not over the top which I appreciated. Our food was fast! But it's pasta so that wasn't surprising. I had the Chicken Marsala. They have mushrooms and artichokes in it and that was enough to sell me. The chicken was juicy, the noodle to sauce ratio was on point. I was not disappointed. I also had a Bella Berry Martini, it was sweet and yummy. I will definitely be returning here in the future for a date night. read more

Went here on a company team group lunch. For each person, there was a completely different set of food preferences, another way of looking at the menu. It was a situation ripe for catastrophe. From the moment our group sat down, the staff at Pastini did a great job of making us feel welcome. Smiles were smiled, menus were dispersed, questions were answered, apps and drinks delivered, and then the real horse-trading happened. Catastrophe averted -- everyone found something exactly to their liking. Several people found their food loves in the pasta options, at least one with the seafood, another a huge salad, the two keto people grooved on the wonderfully tasty meatballs, and so on. There wasn't a shy one in the group, and the food prep was dissected, and yet we all walked away satisfied, ready to return. That's a successful lunch! read more
