this restaurant is the most unsanitary and dirty place I've ever been, i consistently get dirty utensils with chunks of cheese and food on them? like how are these being cleaned and placed in utensil sets? even if a utensil was actually cleaned, it's now contaminated by the dirty ones. I was already nauseous from the curdled Alfredo, and seeing that after I took a sip ruined my mood. I love their food. I don't think I've ever had an issue with staff and it's almost always clean. I can't remember if the noodles are egg free but I believe their Alfredo sauce is. If I had to title this review... I'd title it "Mediocre At Best". I came here with my girlfriend to grab a quick bite, because we heard that it was good from friends. We arrived in time for lunch and we ordered a pesto dish, a spaghetti dish and garlic bread on the side. My pesto dish was missing the pesto for sure, but it did have a lot of vegetables. My girlfriend had a similar experience as her spaghetti was full of sun dried tomatoes but void of noodles. They should rename the "Garlic Bread" as unbuttered toast because that's what we got. Pastini is now part of the Shrinkflation phenomena. Lower portions, higher prices. They have maintained the quality of food, but feeling hungry an hour or so after eating at Pastini isn't normal. We walked out of Pastini yesterday feeling unfulfilled - didn't enjoy as much as we usually do. Basically, Pastini wants you to order more food, more appetizers, more drinks, which all leads to more money for them and less for us. Instead of going every month with my family, I will now be going every three months. If you want to look for an alternative to Pastini, then I would recommend Nona Emelia's, which has not yet been hit by the Shrinkflation bug. read more

Before Covid, this was a place we dined frequently before a movie. While I don't ever select chain restaurants as my first choice, when you are part of a group, you make accommodations. Pastini is right around the corner from the movie theatre and has a variety of options to accommodate everyone so it's a safe, good choice. Plus they have wine! Have also come here with groups of adults and teenagers for the same reason; everyone can find something on the menu pleasing to their palette. Coming from a first generation Italian family, I'm super picky about Italian food. To set the stage, I do not consider Olive Garden Italian Food!!! Pastini is way above Olive Garden in comparison. Typically I order the Penne with sausage. It's a very hearty dish, the penne is cooked perfectly al dente and the sauce is flavorful. Well, done! I've also had the Pappardelle Bolognese. For a chain restaurant, they do a great job with this classic dish serving a rich meat ragu the traditional way, on pappardelle, the long, wide, flat noodles perfect for soaking up this sauce. The Fusilli Allan Roma is also delicious! Fusilli corkscrew pasta combined with grilled chicken, sweet sun dried tomatoes, and artichoke hearts (which I love) in a Parmesan cream sauce is the perfect combo. Both the Cesar salad (great croutons) and house salads are very tasty, perfect starters! And the garlic bread is buttery, crisp and oh, so decadent! The staff here is great. In the days where restaurants were crowded, they always managed our group efficiently, getting everyone started with drink orders first, bringing out salads and starters in the right order with enough time in between before the main entrees arrived. During Covid they are doing delivery and curbside pickup. Since I can make my own Italian dishes at home, and this locations isn't close to my house, I haven't tried these options. But as soon as it's safe to go back to the movies, my friends and I will meet here for dinner and then catch a movie. I always enjoy Pastini, but this location seems to put a better ratio of sauce to pasta - usually I find other locations a bit light on the sauce, but this location actually gets the ratio right in that I can taste the sauce AND the pasta, and the dish is not dry. COVID measures are in place for dining in - they have reduced capacity, menuless ordering available (via QR code if you prefer), and everyone wears masks. Our food came out quickly - but not TOO quickly (oftentimes our pasta has come out just as we started on our salads - but here it was timed MUCH better!) I can't believe it took us a year to make it back here. We are doing keto right now and it's difficult to eat out. We decided on Pastini because we remember they had tasty salads, so I went in prepared to order one. To my surprise, right there at the bottom were low carb options. Zoodles! What a smart move on their part! That wasn't all...sauteed fresh spinach and chopped broccolini were the other low carb alternatives. I went with the Linguini Piccata because I thought it would be the most keto friendly choice. Those zoodles really make you forget that you aren't eating real pasta, other than the lack of guilt. I've been here well over 10 times in the last 10 years and I always like going here because the prices of the dishes are reasonable and a little cheaper compared to other places you go and that doesn't mean the foods gonna taste bad either because the flavors are just as good as other restaurants in the area! Usually I frequent the Bridgeport location, but this one was closer to my parents hotel. Came early to see if we could get a table and the girl at the front was super helpful in accommodating our party of 6--only had to wait approx 15 minutes. Service was exceptional, as the blond waitress was very friendly and helpful from the start. She recommended the vino la quercia montepulciano d'abruzzo to go with our meal and it was a crowd pleaser. I got the baked ziti like always and it didn't disappoint. Didn't miss a beat, drinks were always refilled and courses were timed perfectly even though the restaurant seemed busy. BC (Before Covid) we dined in, this time we tried curbside pickup. The online ordering was a tad confusing and I couldn't tell if they were serving off the regular dinner menu or not so we phoned in our order instead. All went smoothly. Drove up to the designated parking space, called to let them know we were there and our food was quickly brought out by a properly masked wait person. Our order was very well packaged and still piping hot by the time we got it home (about a 15 minute drive). I was a little hesitant doing takeout pasta as all I could imagine was a cold congealed mass of carbohydrate, unfit for human consumption. Thankfully I was wrong. I tried the Spaghetti Carbonara since this is THE dish I use to judge good or great Italian restaurants: creamy Parmesan sauce, bacon, sweet peas, cracked black pepper, grated Parmesan ($16). I wouldn't call it a great dish as I suspect there was cream used in the sauce (a real no-no IMHO) but the menu did say "creamy Parmesan sauce" so I kinda knew what I was in for. Pastini's version of Carbonara is very good but as I said, not great, and I did enjoy it. My husband had the Linguini Misto Mare: shrimp, white fish with lemon, butter, garlic and white wine, Parmesan ($16.50). Perfectly cooked. We also got two orders of the Parmesan bread: a rustic baguette toasted with herb-garlic butter and Parmesan, served with side of marinara sauce ($6.50). It was my mistake ordering it since I wanted the garlic bread that had no cheese or marinara sauce. Oh, well, live and learn. If you like cheesy bread, this is the bread for you. Very good for what it was and a HUGE portion. And to make ourselves feel better about all the carbs and cheese, we ordered a side of broccolini sautéed in garlic and olive oil with fresh herbs ($5.50). It was superb! I sooo miss dining in restaurants! Interacting with wait staff, scanning wine lists, people-watching. Came in during happy hour for dinner at 5pm on a Tuesday and 2 booths filled, it was nice to have a host at the front who was excited about happy hour because that made me excited, and was taken back to a table. The server got my drink order which was a berry ginger lime sparkler ($4) which was recommended as I was looking for something refreshing but light. A great choice and since I haven't had carbonated drinks in quite some time, this was just perfect! I had a hard time deciding what to order and my server was patient with me, I finally decided on the roasted artichoke spread and fettuccini alfredo, $5 each. The food came out in 10 minutes and I dug into the alfredo first! Cheesy and a hint of the pepper with perfectly cooked noodles was just what I was looking for. It came with what seems like the end piece of bread but wasn't mad about it as I had the artichoke spread. The spread came with six pieces of thick bread, enough for 2 or 3 people I would say. The artichoke spread itself was bland in flavor as I could taste more of the grilled thick bread. I wish there was more natural artichoke flavor instead of just the cheese itself, as I couldn't taste the garlic either. I got a to go box for leftover bread and spread as my server kindly reminded me that I didn't have to finish everything. I was full but couldn't pass up on dessert. They had vanilla or chocolate gelato, and spumoni ice cream. I got the spumoni ice cream and it was two scoops with pistachio and cherry pieces to add a bit more texture. Once the bill came, I was surprised to see that the ice cream was $5.50 but with two pretty big scoops and of how delicious it was I got over it. All in all, I was checked on multiple times and the server had great timing on service. I really enjoyed the kindness of the host even when I was leaving as I was offered a carry out bag with my boxed artichoke spread. I really like the menu too as it isn't too extensive and lots of options, even for drinks too. Alcohol based drinks and lots of non-alcoholic drinks, that even tell you if you get free refills. An enjoyable first experience and with many weekly specials, I can see myself coming back! read more

Yeah so I recommend just entirely bypassing this place if you don't want to feel immense shame after paying high prices for low quality food. This seems like one of those places that sucks you in with it's "meal deals" and "ambiance", but you're better off going to Olive Garden. You're getting ripped off. The ciabatta came out first, and although you get a lot of it for 3 bucks, it comes to your table dry and soulless. They don't even warm it up for you, the bread I was eating tasted like it was baked 2 days ago. And the olive oil is bitter and cheap tasting. Next the Caesar salad. Was pleasantly surprised by how good the dressing was and how generous they were with the Parmesan, but I'd definitely argue as to whether the croutons were made in house or not. Definitely not good either way. Overall the Caesar salad was the best thing we had. Next the baked ziti with Italian sausage and garlic bread. The noodles were extremely overcooked to the point there was no chew to them at all, which conflicted with the overcooked and extremely chewy Italian sausage. Didn't feel like I got much of it and it didn't taste like a good quality sausage. Very rubbery and there weren't even any flecks of fennel or herbs in them. Could've been from the dollar store. The sauce was ok, but seemed like it was just canned tomato's and cream. Last thing was the garlic bread, which was as soulless as the rest of the meal. ITs a cute corner joint so when it's light out there's a lot of natural light but the night time mood is definitely good for a date night or a celebration. Parking is easy, it's a busy shopping center but plenty of parking. There was a short wait but to me that's a good sign. People like to eat here, they like it enough to wait at least. Our server was pleasant, not over the top which I appreciated. Our food was fast! But it's pasta so that wasn't surprising. I had the Chicken Marsala. They have mushrooms and artichokes in it and that was enough to sell me. The chicken was juicy, the noodle to sauce ratio was on point. I was not disappointed. Went here on a company team group lunch. For each person, there was a completely different set of food preferences, another way of looking at the menu. It was a situation ripe for catastrophe. From the moment our group sat down, the staff at Pastini did a great job of making us feel welcome. Smiles were smiled, menus were dispersed, questions were answered, apps and drinks delivered, and then the real horse-trading happened. Catastrophe averted -- everyone found something exactly to their liking. Several people found their food loves in the pasta options, at least one with the seafood, another a huge salad, the two keto people grooved on the wonderfully tasty meatballs, and so on.
