    Dungeness crab ravioli
    Jacqueline H.

@fogliapasta From Crab Ravioli to Culinary Dream: Foglia Pasta's Delicious Journey It all started with a Dungeness crab, a newborn, and a father-in-law's wise words. Chef Jeremy Baumgartner, a seasoned veteran with 30 years in the culinary world, was looking for a side hustle while his wife Stephanie cared for their new baby. Inspiration struck in the form of homemade crab ravioli made with his father-in-law's fresh catch. Foglia Pasta was born, not in a fancy kitchen, but in a humble 10x10 space with a dream. The word "Foglia" meaning "leaf" in Italian is used by pasta makers to describe a sheet or "leaf" of pasta. Chef Jeremy, fueled by passion and a tax return, poured his heart into crafting colorful raviolis using natural dyes from juiced beets, blueberries, turmeric and kale. After his first farmers market in March of 2022, Foglia was an instant hit in Portland, OR. Today, Foglia Pasta is a thriving testament to the power of passion and hard work. Chef Jeremy's dedication shines through in his 12 vibrant dough colors, each inspired by the season's freshest ingredients. He's a master of his craft, constantly learning and experimenting, with every book on pasta at his fingertips. Foglias ravioli are supercharged with flax seed, hemp seed, chia seed, spirulina, acerola, green tea, local bee pollen, turmeric, local walnut/hazelnut, cocoa, beets and fresh greens. From dungeness crab and truffle to goat cheese and brisket the flavors at Foglia Pasta are as diverse as they are delicious. I was fortunate to witness the magic firsthand as Chef Jeremy handcrafts 250 boxes of ravioli in just four days, and they sell out every weekend. Must try pasta sauces: lemon garlic Parmesan and hazelnut basil pesto. Must try ravioli: brisket, Dungeness crab, truffle

Jeremy and his team offer great customer service. The ravioli are delicious! Definitely on the pricey side, but worth it.

Let me start by saying I didn't take pictures. For anyone who reads my reviews, that's a big part…read moreof them: ALL THE PICTURES. Presentation, portions, half eaten, etc... but I didn't. Because the food was so damn good. Look - I'm going to start off by saying I grew up practically on The Hill. Out here, you'll have to Google it (make sure to add 'RI' to the search or you'll get some political BS), but back east, "alls you's have ta say" was those two words and anyone would know you knew your Italian, food and otherwise. There isn't anything on this coast that vaguely compares to The Hill's food, but walking into and biting out of Geraldi's was having a little piece of home. There's this little shop in the old town where the owner knew your voice when you called to order... you'd walk in, and you heard "hey cousin!" whether you were or not, and that's the vibe you get from Geraldi's. The food is much the same - you get something that looks like Nonna was at the range all day with her sauce (it's not gravy - no meat) and you came home looking like you haven't eaten in weeks: "I'm gonna fatten you up before you leave" and you walked out the door with a sub (sandwich, that is - not a submarine) that weighed the same as a newborn. We got three of those babies: a Chicago Beef (seal of approval from the orderer - only 'complaint' was that they had to eat it all in one day because the bread was quote too soggy to make it to lunch the next day - travesty), an Italian sausage (just as delicious when 1/2 was reheated the next day) and a Chicken Parmeroni (I thought somehow even better when 1/2 was reheated the next day) and I could have absolutely gone back the next day if it weren't for A. the leftovers 2/3 of us had and B. the meal planning we'd done for the week. I also grabbed a side of giardiniera because I will get it anytime I see it available and I inhaled it - I need to know if I can by it by the vat instead of the side cups because it too was similar to what I can find at home (about practically nowhere out here) and amazing!! I'm still upset I didn't take pictures though!

Don't let the outside stop you from going in…read more Friendly service at the counter, place your order and pay. Find a seat (it's small and a bit crowded). Food comes to you pretty quick. We ordered 1/2 Chicago beef and 1/2 chicken parm. The bread is the winner! So crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Beef was a little dry for being in the au jus but still good, big chucks of chicken breast with flavorful sauce was also good. Will be back to try one of the cold sandwiches next.

Such a nice ambiance Seating inside and outside. I absolutely loved the salad, so much I took one to go. It was fresh and delicious The pasta was meh, I wanted like a string pasta but they had another option this week. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food. No reservations and when they are sold out they are done! I would try this place again. I would say they pasta is about the same as Ava genes but less then Luce

It's in what I will call a "cluster" of other food businesses, and offer communal seating outside. There is also some tables inside but the restaurant itself is very small. Next door is The Garrison, a bar. And next to that is a ramen, sushi & sake place. The menu is very small, but every item seemed curated and was well-described. We got both the pasta offerings available that day; a rigatoni with tomato sauce and a gnocci with alfredo sauce. We also got the side of artisanal bread for dipping, and a salad dressed with cider vinaigrette. Everything was delicious. As a family of 2 adults and a toddler, I wish we would have ordered an extra side of the bread, it was some of the best bread I've eaten recently. Size-wise, I wouldn't say the plates are "sharing plates". The pasta portion was individual in my opinion, however the salad was plentiful and could be shared by maybe 2+ people. This restaurant is "tipless" and the tips are apparently already factored into the food prices. This is a cool feature however, I noticed the service was slack... perhaps because of this fact. I had to bus our table and it was never wiped clean before we ate. I also had to retrieve plates napkins cutlery, water glasses & water for our table myself. I also was a little disappointed they only had one high chair that was being used elsewhere while we visited. My spouse liked being able to easily order beers from The Garrison while eating food from Pastificio. I liked the atmosphere for the most part also, and plan on coming back in the future, but only on a good weather day so we can sit outside in their patio.

Stumbled upon this place when looking for places that cater pasta. Wanted to try this place out…read morebecause we had something similar to this in SoCal. First impression when walking in was clean, felt like a new business, but friendly. Staff was super helpful, kind, and friendly. Menu was simple and fair prices! Surprised to see that minced garlic wasn't an option. Only reason why I give this 4 stars is because the pasta was okay. I could tell (and saw) that the noodles I was eating were pre-cooked from earlier in the day and then heated up in a boiling pot. I understand why they do it like this because it doesn't seem like they are popular enough to make fresh pasta every time a customer comes in and that would be time consuming. It's a hard concept to nail. My partner loved his food!

But it will fill you up and it is a perfect I don't want to cook today or tomorrow curl up with a blanket and watch a movie couch food. I I got the spaghetti with meat sauce and a crap ton of toppings and was very pleased with the portion size, it did indeed make me 2 meals and if I was feeling like it it could've lasted 3. The value is there and I really enjoyed it. The guy who owns it is a really nice and he clearly is working hard to make a good local business. This is the kind of place I'm happy to go to and happy to support. The building decor is a little lacking but we were served quickly, with very friendly service, and took it to go. Overall, I would absolutely come here again. Thank you!
