I think it's solid. On a quiet Thursday afternoon when our movie finished we wanted to try something Peruvian, which Tigard has more than Beaverton and Hillsboro. We have never been disappointed by the quality of food here. Very flavorful, high quality, not oily & always consistent. The cocktails & non alcoholic drinks are both amazing too. Delicious Peruvian dishes! The Mixed Ceviche was full of punchy flavors and fresh seafood. They're very generous with the seafood portion. A refreshing start to the meal. For mains, we went with the Arroz con Mariscos and 1/2 Rotisserie Chicken with rice and beans. Again, lots of seafood in the arroz con mariscos. The rice is garlicky and buttery but a tad mushy for me. It did go very well with the side of pickled onions and hot sauces. Chicken was cooked well. Succulent with a nice char. The beans were savory and delicious with the buttery rice. Overall, a great spot serving delicious food for great prices and portions. Staffs were super friendly as well. What a fantastic and unexpected experience dining at Fogon Criollo last week. Honestly, having dinner at this lovely restaurant was the highlight of my week. First off, the staff are wonderful. I've never dined in a Peruvian restaurant before, so I had some questions about the menu. The wait staff answered all of my questions, provided a sample of one of the dishes, and made some outstanding recommendations for me and my guest. To start, we ordered the Causa de Pollo. It is a beatifully layered dish with potatoes, chicken, avocado and a delicious sauce. I'd order this as a standalone meal it was so good! Get your camera out, this dish makes for a great photo opp! My partner ordered the Pesto with Chicken Milanesa. The hearty portion of noodles was tender and flavorful. My favorite dish of the evening was the beef criolla soup. It's a spicy beef broth made of onion, tomato, fried egg and noodles. It's flavorful, not too salty, and has a deliciously smooth texture and flavor. The dish comes with a side of fried bread. Food was fantastic and the service wonderful and warm. We ordered the Sunday special - the goat curry. It was my favorite. Absolutely some of the best and most tender curry I've ever had. Next was the Arroz Mariscos which was seafood paella and fresh and flavorful. Last was the seafood peanut coconut curry which had a nice kick to it. The mojito was great. I had a big lunch here with a "foodie" friend. He has Peruvian family and loves Peruvian food (a restaraunt in Lima Peru was recently named best in the world). Neither of us had been to this place before. But what a treat! The food was amazing, the prices competitive, the service very friendly and atmosphere pleasant (outside seating available). We shared THREE dishes: - Classic fish Ceviche - Bistek Pesto (thin sliced beef and pesto) - Shrimp Chupe (soup) All three were delicious and beautifully presented. My friend speaks fluid Spanish so he was able to have lively chats with the server and several other customers while I just enjoyed the food. And the best part? The food was sooo amazing I teared up. We ordered take-out and it was so good imagine how much better it would be in-store. We ordered the picante mariscos and oh my, it was a burst of flavor with so much yummy seafood. I would love to try all their dishes but how can I not order this every time?! What a great dilemma to have. My husband had the rotisserie chicken and it was very juicy and tender even the breast. Also very delicious flavor. I look forward to finishing the leftovers tomorrow. It's not the kind of food I would normally be accustomed to eating but I tried the Lomo Salteado and it was easily one of the best meals I have had my entire life. I never would have thought a combination of fries and steak would work but my goodness it definitely did. The staff was very nice, place was clean, food came out quickly. We had a fantastic takeaway meal from Fogon Criollo today which brought us back to fond memories of visiting Peru a few years ago. The food was well prepared and well presented in takeaway form... with the beloved ceviche picked up CHILLED as a separate step from the fridge and professionally set aside for us to pick up as fresh as possible. Check. The restaurant itself is casual and cozy with a few tables inside and out. Simple and tasteful decor throughout but we ordered takeaway and were happy with the organization and presentation. Mixed Ceviche: NOT TO BE MISSED! Fresh fish, squid, baby octopus, shrimp, sweet potatoes in an AMAZINGLY FRESH citrusy vinagrette marinading the fresh seafood so well. The flavors totally popped! Highly recommended! Aji de Gallina: Shredded chicken with potato in a creamy sauce - mild but very yummy. Chicken Chaufa: Peruvian chicken fried rice - my family FOUGHT over this dish and we wished we had ordered a second! Steamed Mariscos with a side of white rice: This was an extremely generous portion of shrimp, fish, octopus, squid and yam steamed in a flavorful sauce and served with a side of white rice. Presentation was awesome as there were different sizes of the seafood mingled within the dish... Perfect. I recently had the opportunity to try out Fogon Criollo, a new Peruvian restaurant in Tigard. I had my eye on it just waiting for them to open. I was seated outside in the shaded area, which was perfect on a hot summer day. Just note that if you want to sit on the patio, you won't be able to order alcohol...you must sit inside for that. I ordered the Mix Chaufa, which is their version of fried rice with seafood, chicken, and ribeye. The chaufa was delicious! The rice was perfectly cooked and the seafood, chicken, and ribeye were all cooked to perfection. I asked for hot sauce and they brought me a red and green one. They weren't quite hot enough for my taste, but the flavor was delicious, so I smothered my rice dish. I just ordered a glass of ice water to go with it. The service at Fogon Criollo was excellent. My waiter was very attentive and made sure that my water glass was always full. I'm already planning another trip there with some friends to try some other dishes. read more

We have been anxiously awaiting for this place to open for months! My husband and I went to Peru for our honeymoon and love Peruvian food. They don't have a website yet and no way to order online, so we called in advance. It took a little while for them to answer, but they were so friendly when they did. It was easy to order, and the wait was only 15 minutes. Parking is easy, and there's plenty of it. It's in the old Jet Set space. We got a free passion fruit drink for being one of the first takeout customers! I ordered the beef chaufa, and it was excellent. Great flavor! My husband ordered something that I can't remember now... he liked his too. The food came with two sauces. They were both very tasty. They prices were average, about 17ish for each dish. My wife and I were going to another business within the same plaza and I noticed a Peruvian flag outside of the building. After reading the menu it sounded really tasty and we were not disappointed. The indoor seating is small but amble, they have a tall cooler with many drinks, they have Inca Kola, my favorite. The menu had a great deal of choices. We landed on the Chicken saltado, large chucks of chicken that are sauté with red onion, tomato and French fries in an amazing glaze, it's also served with with rice. Ask for the spicy dipping sauces, be mindful of the red one it packs a punch. I also noticed that fried plantains were on the menu, we had to have them, so glad we did, they were cooked perfectly with a light fry, so good. The employees were very friendly and attentive, this is a nice spot with amazing detail to the culture and food. Stop by and enjoy. read more

This is such a unique Peruvian restaurant, the food has always been well portioned for the price and always tastes great. Nothing to complain about as it relates to the service. You can dine in or take out and the space is casual and inviting. There is outdoor seating. I got the Beef Tallarín Saltado, which is a noodle dish with strips of steak and topped with green onions, red onions, tomatoes, and comes with 2 delicious sauces on the side. Another great find that was found on a whim. Our plan was to go to the Ramen place a few doors down, but it was packed so we decided to check out our other options. Apparently, I have not been to this shopping center in awhile as I had not realized the coffee place had closed. I am sad about that, but good to know that it was replaced with this great place. Peruvian food is in my Top 5 favorite cuisines, so I was super excited to try it out. We started with the Papa a la Huancaina, which was smothered in a generous amount of  creamy sauce. The sauce looked to be too much. However, it was so delicious, I ended up having it later, when we were given complimentary plantains. This was a wonderful surprise as I originally was eyeing them, but thought we had enough food. It was like the staff read my mind. I had the Veggie Tallarian. They were sauteed noodles with veggies. We wanted to try something new and this Peruvian restaurant had good reviews. Staff welcomed us on entrance. We were seated at a small table between a family with a few kids (they were well behaved thankfully!) and a view of the garbage can through the window (they really need to move this!). Just odd since all of the other seats in the restaurant were open. The menu appears long, but really same sauces/styles repeated in the seafood, chicken and beef sections. The mariscos saltado included small octopus, squid and shrimp with a lot of tomatoes and onions. There were soft/wet french fries mixed in. Pretty good. We also had a beef noodle dish (beef tallarin) which was also good - also a lot of onions. I guess there is Asian influence in Peru. Around $18 a dish. Good to share. Several drink - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic - options available. Staff were friendly and attentive. They come to your table to take your order, but then you pay at the counter at the end. This is a Peruvian place, so they have a really nice big seafood section on the menu! We had fish chicharron for an appetizer. Little fried bite-sized white fish pieces that were pretty tasty. They brought tarter square, but now I will know to ask for the two sauces they brought for my husband's steak! You will likely need to ask for the sauces. My husband got the Bistek Encebollado and it really is a fried steak and white rice. He said it was good but he wants to try something else next time. I got Shrimp Soltado and it was sooo good!
