Pescado al Rocoto y Kion market fish, ginger, scallion, ají rocoto, pork consommé, shiitake mushrooms, baby bok choy
Deb K.

Came here as part of my twelve months of dining Christmas present from my hubby. It also happened to be Portland Dining Month so great opportunity to try some of their special dishes! We started with a Pilsner and mocktail. I had the SUEÑOS DE PISAC which was very "bright" in flavor with pineapple, lime, and ginger syrup. For my appetizer, I had the Choros y Papas Fritas steamed mussels with fries. Hubs had the Alitas de Pato peking duck wings. Both were delicious! I preferred the mussels as I am not a fan of poultry skin. For my main, I had the Pescado al Rocoto y Kion market fish with ginger, scallion, ají rocoto, pork consommé, shiitake mushrooms, and baby bok choy. It was quite delicious too but also quite tiny! Overall, service and food were wonderful and yes, I'd come back!

Beautiful atmosphere and decor, sat by the booth next to the window. We came for lunch, both of our dishes were delicious! Loved both the ravioli and French toast. Our waitress was knowledgeable, made great recs and was attentive

I absolutely loveddd this restaurant. I love Peruvian food to begin with but this place is just so good. Great menu with tons of options- small and large plates. A lot of vegetarian and gluten free options if you don't eat meat or have other dietary restrictions this would be a great spot. The duck was so good it fell right off the bone. So flavorful. Yucca fries were crispy and fresh, came with a delicious sauce. My mom thought the dessert we got was amazing. Servers were very friendly. It was crowded in here, almost every table full on a Thursday night. Also this is the most beautiful restaurant and they had someone playing guitar throughout the night it was so lovely. Definitely come here if you haven't. Portland gem.

We tried many starters and sides. The best were the Yuca Frita, Char Siu Ribs and Calabaza con ocopa. I tried the Lomo Saltado beef & really liked it. However, I ordered the Grilled Wild Salmon medium well and it came much less done that that. I sent it back and it still came back half raw. Check out the photo - that is nowhere near medium well. That was very disappointing. I brought it home and cooked it more the next day so I could eventually eat it.

My husband and I went to try Andina for the first time on our Anniversary, and they didn't disappoint! The sommelier helped us paid the right bottle of red wine with our meal. He took the time to explain how it would pair and came back to check on us to ensure we were enjoying the wine. We started with the pineapple salsa and bread mix - the sourdough was so fresh! The multigrain had a strong star anise flavor and hazelnut butter spread was fantastic. The causa de pulpo (octopus), starter was tender with the right amount of heat and the potatoes were fantastic! The grilled salmon was fantastic. The amazing team at Anding brought us a tasty matcha butterscotch ice cream to help us celebrate our anniversary. Never would have guessed that flavor combination but it was a perfect pairing! The only aspect that we had a bit of a hard time with was the volume in the restaurant. It's gorgeous in there but it was loud. We said across from each other and had an extremely tough time hearing each other talk between the music and general restaurant conversation. Temperature was perfect, though and all the wait staff were friendly and helpful! Will definitely go back!

During a girls' trip to Portland, we visited Andina on our first night in town. We loved the atmosphere, especially the musician performing at the bar. Our server was very helpful, the drinks were fantastic, and the food truly stole the show! We shared several appetizers, all of which were great, but the Lomo Saltado was by far the best dish we enjoyed. One of my girlfriends even tried it with mushrooms since she's a vegetarian, and she said it was just as incredible as ours looked.

Very good food and wine selection. Great for sharing. They even have a lazy Susan for dim sum style. Go with a group and try everything. The potatoes are exceptionally delicious. The service was fast and friendly. They made great suggestions.

There's no shortage of great restaurants in the Pearl District, so when my business dinner reservation happened to match ChatGPT's recommendation, I had a feeling Andina would be a winner--especially for its Peruvian cuisine. It turned out to be even better than expected. The cocktail menu is fantastic. As a mezcal lover, I was delighted to see Ilegal Mezcal on the menu--the same bottle I keep at home, famously known for its smuggler-backstory. I ordered a mezcal-based cocktail that had a touch of spice, beautifully balanced with citrus and bitters. Truly exceptional. We shared a selection of vegan appetizers, all of which were outstanding. Although I don't eat meat, I have to admit the Chinese five-spice pork ribs looked delicious. For our main, everyone chose the trout--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. I loved every bite. Andina is the kind of place that immediately makes you want to return so you can explore the rest of the menu. A memorable dining experience from start to finish.

Fantastic dinner at Andina to start my Portland trip. I flew in straight from the airport and they have coat/bag check! The vibes are romantic and chill, and I loved the interior. So beautiful looking at the fall foliage while eating delicious food. I loved one of the empanadas (forgot which one but it's the veggie one) and the dish with pork cutlet with pasta. Ooooooomg so tasty. I would pass on the Lomo and beef hearts though

Brunch-- Great flavor & presentation Drinks were also incredible -- the bloody mary was one of the best we've ever have! The Empanada was amazing. Highly reccomend. The service was good and friendly. Aesthetically pleasing and fun to look around. Nothing out of place. What we got: - Humita y Salchicha - Empanada De Espinaca - Eggs Benedict

Our first experience was so positive we decided to come back on another weekend spent in Portland. Well, some of the food was still good and we enjoyed the drinks, but the quality has dropped for sure. Appetizers: The octopus was very salty, and some pieces were a bit tough. Ceviche remains a highlight, but I was sad to see they only had one option on the menu now. Yuca fries were also still delicious as well. Main dishes: There were steamed mussels with my trout and half of them were inedible, the smell was so bad. The fish itself was fine. The chicken was pretty dry, but the yummy sauces sort of make up for it. However, some of the fingerling potatoes were also inedible because of being rock hard. Lomo saltado and grilled salmon entrees were both good, cooked perfectly and had balanced flavors. Overall, for the price range, it was not worth it to return, especially because our service was not the best this visit. It was slow - our waiter filled our water glasses twice before asking for our orders. It was 20 minutes between getting seated and ordering food. We weren't asked how the food was either, no check-ins until he came back for plates (and still didn't ask how everything was).

I've been meaning to do this review!! Wow this was our first time here & I couldn't believe this place was missing from my life. Everything was amazing here. From the service to the food & the drinks. First, our server was Brooke & she made the experience even better. We've never had Peruvian food so it was nice of her to tell us about the dishes. Drinks were delicious. I would come back for everything we got. the Char Siu Pork Ribs & the Lomo Saltado were our favorites! We could lick the plates clean haha. Their version of the tamale & empanada were both yummy. The lighting was nice & dim with live music!

The Andina brunch was quite excellent. I never thought I would say this, but the absolute hands-down favorite was their drip coffee. It was bold yet as smooth as could be. You have to order the pastry roll; it's perfection with the coffee. Not to be left behind, the food was actually equally good. We had the pancakes, which were so delicious they didn't even need butter. They were perfect just the way they were. The potato rosti (think a thick potato pancake, almost a cutlet) with smoked salmon roe and a delicious sauce was also a highlight. Finally Ari was the best server one could ask for, kept that coffee coming We shall be back.

The tapas dishes are multi-priced. Are they priced as tapas portion and entree portion?

Yes some you can get a tapas portion or a table ( larger) portion.

Is this restaurant kid friendly? Maybe early in the night?

Depends on your sense of "kid friendly." I have seen kids eating in there early on, but it's an upscale place, so it's not amenable to kids running loose (there's no play area). I think the menu is a little more advanced (depending on how picky your… Read more

Inside is dark and cozy, perfect for a rainy afternoon or evening. My only complaint is there is a lot of wood and all the hard surfaces don't reflect noise so it's sometimes challenging to hear. They have a wonderful assortment of wines and not all local. For me, that's a good thing. Yes I love a Willamette Valley Pinot or a Washington Cabernet, but I get a lot of those when I'm visiting these areas, which I do frequently. At Muse you can enjoy a red from France, Spain, Italy, as well as local. Lots of whites and some bubbles, too. You can do a tasting of three half glass pours of your choice, or order a glass. Some nights they have tastings that they have preselected. Last night, based on Alex's recommendation, after telling him my preferences, I had the 2021 Crozes-Hermitage from Paris. It was a bigger red, but so smooth. Next I went with the Rioja Gran Reserva which was more fruit forward. Another winner. Their cheese and jam plates are fabulous, the cheese especially delicious, and pair perfectly with the wines. Have a feeling I'll be back frequently to this charming neighborhood wine since my friend works out next door, so it's a perfect meeting spot.
