Incredible dinner. Love the ambiance and the vibe. Sat at the counter, which is usually where I prefer to perch when I'm dining. Really cool to watch the kitchen do their thing. The several wines I had were fantastic and thoughtfully recommended (thank you!). Dinner was great in its own right. The pork loin with roasted Brussels sprouts and apple purée was delicious, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it's probably one of the best things I've had in a long time. For dessert, the chocolate cake was rich and decadent. Great finish. I capped off things with the 2005 Thomas, nice history and it still drinks quite well.

Mixed...a downgrade from previous visits. Commenced the experience with a wonderful cocktail that consisted of whiskey, cognac, and some sort of strawberry puree. The burrata small plate was satisfying. The Shishito peppers meh (compared to other versions around town), good dipping sauce though. Loved the salted butter on the bread plate. The pierogis were delicious. But if it's going to serve as your entree like I thought, then you might want to complement it with something else. Two small triangles for that price make it one of the worst values on the menu. The pork loin was over cooked (grill marks) on one side, but under (no grill marks) on the other. Temperature was warm, not hot. Our friend did not like the trout. Desserts is where they definitely shine. Four creative choices, no tired tiramisu or crème brûlée. Both the non-traditional style chocolate cake and some sort of apple compote made for a pleasurable ending. A surcharge for using a credit card? It's not as tacky as a "health" or " supplemental employee livable wage" fee, but bothers me nevertheless. Service was very good. Parking you'll find.

Yummy food, pricey, and small portions! We tried fun flavors here. Salted butter is a must with the rustic bread! My gnocchi had a creamy sauce with chopped sweet dates to complement the savory flavors! I loved it!

shrimp toast was pretty good .. maybe a side of shrimp meat would have been nice

Lovely atmosphere and able to have a conversation without too much noise but it was still a chill busy vibe. Love the open kitchen !

We found ourselves child free on a Friday and decided that we wanted to go out for a nice dinner. As I looked around for some last minute reservations, Arden popped up. We decided to give it a try and I'm so glad we did. It's a small, intimate space that filled up quickly. The service was absolutely wonderful, everyone was super attentive, helpful, and friendly. My husband started with the oysters, which he absolutely loved. We also got a bread basket which I highly recommend. It's Ken's Artisan bread, but there's a couple different kinds and it's really delightful with the cultured butter. If there are beets on the menu you can bet I'm ordering them and theirs did not disappoint. They were earthy, savory, the lebnah was creamy, the lemon gave it a little punch, and the seeds gave it some crunch. Very good! I went with the Roast Pork Shoulder for my main, which was really succulent, the perfect cold night bowl of food. The pork was fall off the bone tender, the polenta was creamy, I loved the greens, the XO sauce brought a saltiness, and the crispy shallots brought some crunch. I will say, it was very savory, it felt like it was missing something - acid? Sweetness? Heat? My husband went with the fish which was so tender and cooked to perfection. It came with Delicata squash, which I stole because it was beautifully prepared. We couldn't decide what to get for dessert so we went with the Panna Cotta and the Chocolate Terrine. The Panna Cotta sounded so weird on the menu, but lives rent free in my head. It was just spectacular. It was the perfect texture and the toppings just elevated it. The Chocolate Terrine was also good. It was so smooth and decadent, but the huckleberries and cream just boosted the flavor. Do not skip dessert here!!! I think the serving sizes were a little smaller than I was expecting, especially if you are sharing. The desserts were definitely more generously sized, so keep that in mind. I did not regret ordering 2 desserts, but they were bigger than I expected. And try not to fall in love with anything because the menu does change - goodbye Panna Cotta. Overall, this was a really great meal. The kitchen is doing some really inventive and special things. It's pricey for what you get, but a great place to celebrate something special.

I came here for a dinner a while ago and had a great experience. We made reservations and the inside of the restaurant is intimate and warm. The staff was friendly and service was good. The menu here rotates fairly often, but from everything we had, the chefs here are phenomenal. We ordered the Foie gras tarchon, a summer squash and zucchini dish, and a bavette steak. Everything was so intricately put together and so so delicious. My favorite was definitely the foie gras and if needed, don't be shy to ask for more bread (like we did!). The bavette steak also came with spatzle, which I never had before, and the waiter was so kind to explain the process of making the dish. Overall, great experience here and loved the work put into these dishes.

Another great find. I wanted to treat my newly engaged friends to dinner during my visit. Every PDX visit involves me making a reservation somewhere with a tasting menu. The exciting part of my choice is that they don't tell you what you're going to get. The whole party has to partake in the menu tasting. I opted for the wine pairing and also added the Oregon orange wine they had on the menu. I loved that they even had a few options. My friend who doesn't drink really appreciated all the mocktails. I was pleasantly surprised that 3 options were dropped off for the starter portion. Every dish had cheese, my kryptonite and downfall. Despite being not lactose friendly, I dove in like a champ. The beets one was my favorite. I love beets. Next up was a pasta dish that melted in my mouth like butta. The pierogi that came after was the table's favorite. For surf and turf, we got fish and meat. We all agreed the fish dish was better, taste wise. We were all so full, but still had two desserts to get through. I was only able to get a bite of each before I had to tap out. Every dish was amazing. That meant, every plate was cleaned. We did so much work. The wine that came with every course was so good. The service was outstanding. My favorite thing about their layout is that because the kitchen was out in the open, the smell was so enjoyable. Was the upset stomach and wet burps that kept me up until 6am worth all the cheese consumption? Hells yeah!!! Did I die? Hells to the no. See you again the next time I'm in town. Gimme all the cheese.

My cousin found this place and was super excited to take us here while we were visiting PDX. For drinks we ordered one mezcal based and one whiskey based cocktails. The mezcal based was great. Snacks we ordered the artisan bread which was great. It came from a local bakery. I loved the burrata + warm peach salad to share. The burrata was fresh and I love the combination of sweet, tangy and chili sauce. This was the first time I had tried pierogies. Personally I didn't had any benchmark to compare with but overall I liked the taste. Coming to service. It was a bit disappointing. The person who was attending us was being a snob. We had requested another round of mezcal cocktail which he never got us.

Arden is what Michelin-starred restaurants aspire to, and don't always achieve. From the initial greetings with a bubbly rose, to the final sip of Sauternes paired with panna cotta, this was my finest experience during this trip to Portland. This is clearly one of the finest restaurants in Portland. Not only is it at the top of my list for especially fine cuisine, it's where I've come to truly appreciate fine wine. The passion on display here is both visible and inspiring. The wine tastings hosted by the remarkable Kelsey are the best I've experienced. I've actually encouraged area wineries I frequent to benchmark Kelsey (even if my feedback is not always enthusiastically received). Anyone with a passion for wine and a thirst for wine knowledge is strongly encouraged to partake of her amazing presentations and tastings of the world's wines. Virtual wine tastings are recorded and streamed on Instagram and (I think) YouTube. Strongly recommend.

I went here for my 1 year anniversary and was BLOWN away. I love good food and this was some of the best food I've ever had. Not only that but the service was so lovely, attentive, and friendly. The ambiance was nice and dimly lit, very romantic. Each course was so unique and flavorful in its own way. I don't have one complaint!

A splurge dinner for the usual local ingredients & wines. Smaller inside than expected, but less tables means attentive service. On the other hand the waitress was kind of snooty and did not pull us into a deep dining experience. Seasonal and creative rotations is what keeps you interested. Expensive wine selection and a little light on the pours. Food & ambience was excellent, service not so. Street parking.

We went for dinner with 4 of us last night. My husband and I had been here previously and did the pre fixe dinner, which was amazing. But tonight with a 4 top, it went a little different. They claim that they are a family style restaurant, where you share everything. It honestly should be called small plates, because it's really not shareable for more than 2 people. Everyone only got a bite or two of every dish. The food, ambience, service is outstanding. We will be back, but just the 2 of us!

Inside is dark and cozy, perfect for a rainy afternoon or evening. My only complaint is there is a lot of wood and all the hard surfaces don't reflect noise so it's sometimes challenging to hear. They have a wonderful assortment of wines and not all local. For me, that's a good thing. Yes I love a Willamette Valley Pinot or a Washington Cabernet, but I get a lot of those when I'm visiting these areas, which I do frequently. At Muse you can enjoy a red from France, Spain, Italy, as well as local. Lots of whites and some bubbles, too. You can do a tasting of three half glass pours of your choice, or order a glass. Some nights they have tastings that they have preselected. Last night, based on Alex's recommendation, after telling him my preferences, I had the 2021 Crozes-Hermitage from Paris. It was a bigger red, but so smooth. Next I went with the Rioja Gran Reserva which was more fruit forward. Another winner. Their cheese and jam plates are fabulous, the cheese especially delicious, and pair perfectly with the wines. Have a feeling I'll be back frequently to this charming neighborhood wine since my friend works out next door, so it's a perfect meeting spot.
