Wine "tasting" but a bit more than a tasting pour. Great value!

Great spot to try some news wines and hang with old friends. The service is friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. They have light nights and healthy pours!

Went here with my boyfriend last night. Hadn't been here in so long. I always enjoy the wines that I had here. Last night it was the Gamay that I loved! Nice owner and service and great charcuterie boards. It does get a little loud in there but other than that I love this place.

Division Wines is the perfect neighborhood winery, with a very generous selection of bottles. Their flight is the best way to experience three different pours for only $18! A great deal! Pair with a charcuterie board or even a bread and butter offering for an enjoyable outing.

Beet and goat cheese heaven on a plate

I drive by here twice a week and it always looks so cozy and inviting. So yesterday I decided to stop in and have a glass of wine and a bite. There is a bar area in front of the big windows which was perfect lighting for reading. I ordered a glass of the Chardonnay and the beet and goat cheese salad. It was heaven. Service was friendly and very attentive. This could be a new Tuesday after work stop for me.

We stoped in here to grab a few bottles for a dinner party. We ended up having a glass of Gamay, from France, that was amazingly smooth and delicious. Then we had to impulse buy this Pet Nat as well. Yummm They also serve food here.

We came across Division Wines by accident. It's a wine bar with a retail shop. The bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. I got a wine flight (select 3 wines from the list). The pours were generous and the wine was very good. I ended up buying two of the three wines which were reasonably priced. I would definitely come back.

Smaller than I imagined but there is outdoor seating. Lots of fun bottles to peruse and a great selection of by the glass.

Being able to get anchovies in vinegar, ham croquettes, and a Belgian beer takes me back to some of my favorite travel experiences, and the Pix Patisserie dessert options continue to provide a thrill. I have two quibbles that keep me from adding the fifth star - the Tortilla Espanola (closer to an egg and potato frittata than a Mexican tortilla) is served with a drizzle of red and a white sauces. A well made Tortilla (and this one is very nicely done) doesn't really need any embellishment. I'll try to remember to ask for the sauce on the side next time. The second issue I have is that the servers didn't appear to have received enough training to do justice to the things on the menu. Bar Vivant has a lot of wonderful offerings, enough of them that they really deserve better descriptions and recommendations. Between the drinks, the savory and the sweet options, this is a very special place.

If you are into Sherry Wines, then this is the place for you. It's a "low-Key" spot with a sense of Romanticism. They have a beer garden that serves as a temporary escape from hustle and bustle. The chill vibe allows for you to take your time, sip on your sherry while trying the different tapas, such as pulpo, sardines, ham, croquettes and much more. If you are in the mood for a good dessert with your sherry, well, you are in luck because Bar Vivant is like a "two-for-one". The restaurant shares it's space with Pix Patisserie, the only place in Portland where you should purchase Macaroons! Because it is a chill spot, the service is chill as well. If you are in the area, waiting to be called for a table, I recommend you stop here while you wait.

Bar Loon is that pub. The back patio is a terrific relaxed atmosphere, and flexible to the weather since it's covered. They have a happy hour from 4-6pm; it's a short happy hour, but it has house onion chips and $10 wine, and what could be bad? (BTW: I see complaints in other reviews about needing to order at the bar -- and maybe wait in line. I don't get it. The bartenders are cheerful and efficient, it's really not a big deal. The only thing I might want from them is a longer bar snack menu, particularly for happy hour; that would make Bar Loon perfect, IMHO)

The menu is the typical seasonal menus that doesn't give a whole lot of explanation, so I can see people asking a lot of questions at the bar when ordering. Then if you "keep a tab open," that means having to get back in line if you want to add more food or drinks. But other than this odd concept, I would say the covered patio in the back is a fun, festive space and the drinks are decent. But the food is what surprises you, with simple dishes and ingredients that taste complex and multiple depths of flavors and textures. Like the roasted cauliflower I had, that came out looking nothing like cauliflower (maybe it was also because of the dim lighting) that was flavored with harissa and served with herby labneh and sunflower honey. I was getting an early dinner, so was looking for something that could be a main but the bigger dishes sounded heavy, so I just went with the garlic sausage, which was nicely done and was a fancified pork and beans. I like that it's in my neighborhood so I can easily drop in for a casual meal that surprises.
